Scott King is an author and photographer. He was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Ocean City, Maryland. He received his undergraduate degree in film from Towson University, and his M.F.A. in film from American University.

“DAD! A Documentary Graphic Novel,” King’s first book was published in Fall ’09. He is also the creator and writer of “Holiday Wars.”

King is a game photographer based in Texas. His most common shoots are for websites, online stores, and for other marketing needs. He also produces an annual calendar that highlights board and other hobby games.

King was first introduced to the entertainment industry in high school when he was hired as a production assistant on “Runaway Bride.” At the time, he served as a reporter for the school newspaper and although another student was assigned the article about the movie King was determined to write it. He snuck into a press conference where Gary Marshall was meeting with local media, so that he could out-scoop his fellow student. Durring the meeting King asked a few questions about how the movie would affect bus routes and local businesses. The next day he was hired and he’s been working in the entrainment industry ever since.

I read this book in one sitting! Fast paced, and engaging. The future described in this book would fill Big Brother with envy. If you loved 1984, this is a must read. I hope to see more in this universe in the future, though the story is 100% self contained.

"...too horrible for him to create in a dream. This had to be real."."
"Randdol Mupt hated Tuesdays", but the he hated every day. Someone was always watching, music pumped out continuously and life was lonely. and repetitive. ""Existing like this was the opposite of living". Twice a day, came a required reaffirmation to The Word. Randell hated The Word. He wanted to hurt The Word....

Quick, pithy sentences convey the emptiness of Mupt's life. He is old now and with failing memory. Not a particularly likeable character, the reader's sympathy nevertheless goes out to him as day follows meaningless day. Until ...
A neat, circular story, perhaps a little mechanical at times but well worth a read.

This story was real life creepy. It is a VERY slow start, but after finishing the whole story I think that the slowness made the ending more climactic. I wasn't expecting the ending at all. The final epilogue was the best part of the book. It gave a great recap of the story and characters.

Resist Them is the second book by Scott King that I have read so I pleased to have another well written book. This is a standalone book. I enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. There is violence.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. The author did a great job of explaining the complexities of the city and it's inhabitants. This is a story of use of technology can be used differently than expected or originally planned. There are enough twists and turns to keep readers interested. It definitely kept me reading.

I look forward to reading more of his books. I received a copy of this book from Book Review 22 and chose to leave a review for other readers.
