Don’t judge a book by its cover—or a woman by her appearance. What you see is not always what you get. Audrey Killian loves her job running the local newspaper in a small Tipperary town. But when a fire destroys the office, her peaceful life is torn apart. Her boss, sexy London publisher Christopher Montgomery, arrives in town with plans to close the paper down, making her an offer she can’t refuse. Audrey is suddenly faced with difficult choices. Should she grab the juicy carrot that dangles before her, or stay and get her peaceful life back? Whatever she chooses will change her life forever.
Susanne O’Leary is the bestselling author of more than 30 novels, mainly romantic fiction set in Ireland. Her many books set in County Kerry have been hugely popular with readers all over the world. She shares her time between Dublin and Kerry, where she and her husband have a little cottage near the beach. The wild, beautiful landscape, the small villages and the friendly people of that county have inspired her to write her feel-good stories. She's been inspired to represent people of all ages and walks of life, with lots of romance, and more than a dash of humour.
When she is not writing or reading by the fire, Susanne loves heading for the great outdoors, walking on the beaches or scaling the green hills of her favourite county.
I didn't warm up to the main character who was stunningly beautiful and sexy, yawn. I did not like her bragging about using her looks. I did not find her lewd boss appealing at all and was surprised she did. I did not like her teasing her coworker about his weight and forcing him into a diet. I liked the newspaper, the apartment, the location, and her neighbors.
This is book 3 in the Tipperary series and the last book in the Irish Romantic Comedy set. Out of the three, this was my least favorite but it was still a good read. I was not a huge fan of the lead character but I loved how we were given backstories on the other characters we had met before. There is one more book in the Tipperary series and I hope to find it to read.
The vivid sex in this book go against my beliefs. Not sure whether or not I will read any other books by this author. Probably not. Life is too short to waste time reading books I don't relate to.
