This is the first in the series about 3 sisters who happen to be half demon(from their mother's side) and half witch (from their father's side). Each of the 3 sisters has different looks, and abliities. Some of the sisters have embraced their Demon heritage and some like Liva (this story) is suppressing her demon tendancies.
Liva is an empath and she cleans antique objects for clients and resale. Each object has embedded memories.
Enter Cian - who happens to be Fae, but not just an ordinary Fae. Cian needs Liva's help to find his brothers murderer.
The way Cian is described is just breath taking.
What I love about reading Gaja's stories is that it is based on folklore. I found myself stopping to research all about said folklore eventhough she explains it in the story. Also the setting was exotic as I have never been to Slovenia and again found myself googling where the locations where.
Gaja's story is action packed with plot twists and slowly developed characters and relationships.
I am partial to reading about the Fae so this one has been my favorite so far.
I highly recommend this author.

Another wonderful story by a superb author. Anything written by this author takes you away to another world and you can't leave it until you're finished. Certainly ready for more. Received an ARC. .

This is book one of the Nightwraith series and tells the story of Liza and Cian. Liza is a Nightwraith, half demon and half Koldun Earth witch, an experiment by her mother, the Queen of Mist, in the Shadow world, with their father a full blown Koldun witch. Each of her sisters, Lena and Lana, have different strengths and use their abilities in vastly different manners. One is a necromancer and runs a bar, using her zombies as staff and pulling in punters from both the human and supernatural worlds, whilst the other is a highly paid assassin, killing the worst of the worst. Liva has refused to give in to her demon side, much to her mother’s annoyance, preferring to make a living running an antiques shop, with a side line of helping people by using her rare material empath skills with inanimate objects, to read its history and past. This time, a customer comes to her shop, needing her empath powers to find out who killed his brother. But he is a Fae, the absolute enemy of demons for all time. He knew to ask for her by her father’s surname, Liva Kasun, not her mother’s, Liva Ambrose, and thus didn’t realise that she was half demon. He clearly doesn’t want to work with her, but she is his only chance to find out what happened to his brother, but he is also holding a lot of secrets, some of which he should really let her know, if she is to truly help him in his quest!
It doesn’t help that Cian is a fierce but very sexy warrior Fae and a fine example of man, that her body want her to play with. Shame her mind and his won’t go down that road. There is far more to the death of his brother and Cian’s need to find his killers, there is also a very powerful Fae artifact missing and with it, the balance of power within the Fae Courts, which could have an impact on the human realm as well. He is far from an ordinary Fae and Liva can feel and even see the power emanating from him. He is a temptation she can’t give in to and one that he doesn’t want any part of, due to her demon side! They find a clue in the cabin his brother was renting, as he looked for a powerful being to hold the artifact he had. Unfortunately, the Fire Court are defying the Earth Court of which Cian is part of, trying to vie for power and control of all of the Fae realm. He realises they must be responsible for his brother’s death, but he needs proof from Liva before he can take them out, or he will cause a war within the Fae realm and further. Liva finds herself having to give in to her demon side, allowing both parts of her begin to combine at last, providing her with more magical power than she thought it would. Cian has altered his opinion of Liva, the longer they are together and a moment occurs, which means each would do anything for the other. They have to break into a highly secure supernatural auction, to find the object stolen from his brother, but others have the same idea and they have to fight their way out of there.
Liva will have to face her mother, after she finds out what Liva is up to and who she is working for, needing something from her that will of course, be at a high bargaining cost to her. With it, Liva will become the very Nightwraith she never imagined, having always hidden her demon side away and only living in the light. She will come to realise that she needs to accept both the light and the dark and be the person she was made to be. She had no choice in what she was born as and if people have problems with that, then they can lump it! She and Cian get closer together and there is some hot and steamy scenes towards the end, so beware. There are further books in the series that explore the other two sisters, but it was nice to meet each of them and have a glimpse into their lives. A dangerous endeavour for Liva, working for the enemy, on the most important job of her life. One that will change the role of her future and allow her to find her bonded mate for life. A slow starter, that soon cracks up the pace and the danger involved for the main characters. I received an ARC copy of the book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

This plate will Not be cleaned.

Soo often we get into this zone when reading ,this zone that says “We Must finish! We must finish, whatever the cost.”

Aaaaaaaaaaa,No. Despite however much this might remind us of the “clean plate club”, we might have been urged every night to be a part of when we didn’t want to eat those certain veggies, or liver and onions or Brussel sprouts or what ever, there rarely are any rewards for pushing thru a book when you come to find it boring or tedious or annoying or even worse when it turns into a huge train wreck of a mess, that soo often happens.
We don’t get parents or others smiles or even rewarded w/a nice dessert 🍨 for finishing a trying book 📚 soo when I’m at 30-40+ % of a book and I’m asking myself when I’m spending my time on it ?
It’s time to stop 🛑.
I found Liva boring and annoying full stop 🛑.
Her name dropping of what designer shoes or clothes, were uninteresting to me,I mean it’s not like she’s in the fashion industry, or the assistant to some CEO or something in a office in a contemporary romance. She’s a “Nightwraith” and some sorta demon/witch hybrid who runs an antique store and uses her powers as an empath to do something...
What ? I’m not sure I know, unless it more ppl like the Fae she can’t stop lusting over..
Dear lord, 47% thru and all I really knew was I found the h BORING and rather shallow and uninteresting and sadly we weren’t getting a POV from the H of the story.
F
Possible ⚠️ spoilers ahead ⚠️
14 chapters in and all I felt I really knew was she could feel bad see things from objects, that seemed to almost transport her back to a moment in time for a moment and she had a lust/hate thing going on w/Cian the high lord of the Earth Fae .
He seemed to have similar feelings to her but he kept it hid .
So far it just seemed to be about finding his brothers killer or killers and recovering a missing Fae artifact.
But I just couldn’t connect with Livia. There just wasn’t enough to her,and what was there wasn’t relatable or interesting to me. I don’t drink ( she’s one of those h’s constantly craving a glass of wine 🍷) and her chesterfield chairs or expensive shoes or her “floral Kenzo purse” wasn’t of interest to me either.. I feel like those things were probably there to either set the mood or help describe the setting . Of course. But, maybe it was the lack of between myself and the character and thus the story but for me it just felt like name dropping and only bored me more and put more distance between me and the h.
It felt like see I’m someone special because I were fancy things and have expensive stuff.
That’s probably just me but it didn’t impress me. For me this just didn’t work. I couldn’t connect with the h and I didn’t find her all the likable or interesting .
It just didn’t work for me.
Maybe it will for others.. I wish this writer all the best though and I hope she finds what she’s looking for and all the best in her endeavors.
Good luck.

I really wanted to like Windstorm. And at first, I did. The world building was very easy to follow, Liva was a relatable likable character, Cian was a captivating love interest, they hated each other, it seemed like a perfect recipe. On the more technical side, the plot wasn’t rushed and the mystery unfolded steadily and naturally. They met the right amount of conflict when they should have and it was setting up nicely to be a slow burn enemy to lovers romance.
Until I hit around the 50% mark. All of a sudden they were in love and mated and did nothing but have sex. It was great sex, don’t get me wrong, but they no longer had any interaction from that point on that wasn’t sexual. I’m not sure they kissed even once without his hard length getting mentioned. It really just left the whole story lacking. Kos didn’t include enough relationship building before this for it not to feel like an insta-love, and a half forced one at that. We all know how I feel about insta-loves so I felt particularly tricked here.
Kos also had enough plot to make this two books. If the first 50% was stretched and elaborated on, focusing more on their interactions for budding feelings and a relationship, then it could really have been enjoyable. The who done it/where is it mysteries and subsequent alteration at the auction could have easily been more involved and developed. Then the second half just had way too much plot shoved in that it all felt rushed and too easy for the characters to experience and get through.
There were a few spots that I wasn’t real clear as to what was going on. I've read enough that I think I inferred correctly but I’m not totally positive. I kept having to go back a few paragraphs to make sure I wasn’t missing something.
*Spoiler* My least favorite scene in this book was near the very end. (Seriously, spoiler approaching..) It really hammered home the total lack of any actual relationship built in this book. Liva awoke from practically dying and they instantly start screwing. There was no conversation, no romantic words, not even a description of Cian being distraught, nothing. There was him saying “thank fuck” and then exactly that. *facepalm*
All in all, I was very disappointed, hence the two star rating. It may be closer to a three star book and I tend to round up here but I feel so betrayed and tricked from the great start that I left it with the two.

The Nightwraith Series by Gaja Kos is a dark, mesmerizing blend of fantasy, romance, and supernatural intrigue that captivates from the very first page. With its lush world-building, complex characters, and emotionally charged storytelling, this series stands out as a masterful work of urban fantasy.

Gaja Kos crafts a universe that feels both dangerous and enchanting, filled with magic, mystery, and moral complexity. The writing is vivid and atmospheric, pulling readers deep into a world where shadows hold secrets and power comes at a price. Each book builds seamlessly on the last, expanding the lore and deepening the emotional stakes with every twist and revelation.

The characters are the heart of the series—flawed, fierce, and unforgettable. The protagonist’s journey is one of strength, vulnerability, and transformation, making her both relatable and inspiring. The relationships, whether romantic or adversarial, are layered with tension and authenticity, adding depth to the fast-paced, action-driven plot.

Kos’s prose is elegant yet sharp, balancing poetic description with gripping dialogue. The pacing is impeccable, with moments of quiet reflection woven between explosive confrontations and heart-stopping suspense. Every chapter feels purposeful, leading to climaxes that are both thrilling and emotionally resonant.

The Nightwraith Series earns five stars for its immersive world, powerful storytelling, and unforgettable characters. Gaja Kos has created a darkly beautiful saga that lingers long after the final page—a must-read for fans of fantasy that dares to explore both the light and the shadows within.

Amazing, action filled, suspense with a healthy dose of paranormal romance!

Absolutely loved Windstorm (Nightwraith Book 1) written by a truly talented author Gaja J. Kos! This author knows how to pack action and suspense into a paranormal romance. Every page kept me on the edge of my chair. Every word held excitement and a combustible lust kept me turning the page from the very beginning! Gaja J. Kos skills to transport the reader to a world made up of supernatural beings and humans; who live together but the humans are unaware of the differences between the two races.

Chaz and Lena’s lust is uncontrollable! Their dynamic interaction is intense as well as humorous at times. As both begin to understand and accept each other, their friendship and lust slowly turns into a deep connecting love shared through their bond.

This is a truly an amazing story no one should pass at the opportunity to read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the characters. Liva, being half witch/half demon, has not had an easy time of it because of the expectations placed on her but she has fought to build a life of her own, living on her own terms and she has a good life but then Cian walks into her life and everything gets flipped on its head. Two problems, the first being that Cian is as hot as all get out, the second, he is Fae and a demon hunter. But he needs her help so at least for the time being she is safe. I thoroughly enjoyed the interplay between these two and the journey they took together was exciting, full of danger and suspense and of course a wonderful chemistry. Will Liva be able to help Cian track down the person who killed his brother?

This is the first book I picked up to read by Gaja J. Kos and loved it !!! It was slow to start, but if you keep reading it gets a lot better. I loved the Fae Cian, he is definitely a swoon worthy main character. Liva is a great main character also and as the story progresses gets better. Ms Kos shows her talent for writing in this action packed drama and the development of the characters. Liva is hiding out with humans, denying what she is and where she comes from that is until Cian comes into her shop wanting her help. The twists and turns the story takes, the danger and more has you wanting to read that next page. I recommend this book for those that love a great paranormal romance. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Liva is living her own life outside the shadow world. She is running her special antiques shop and helping out people.
Now there is a fae on her doorstep asking for help to get his brothers killers. But she doesn't do murders normally, but Cian is special she finds out.
And there is more to find out about him, because not only are the fae the enemies to the demon side of her, she also finds out he is royal.

A great read with lots of action, family love and passion. It also brings Liva back to her mother when she needs a hand in helping Cian win from the evil other court who wants him death.

I like the fun and light moments between Liva and Cian and also the hot and steamy passion that bonds them.

Our heroine may be part of the supernatural world, but it is not by choice and something she tries to avoid. Of course, that becomes rather difficult after our hero steps into the picture.

This is book one of the series so a fine place to start.

This is a urban fantasy story with an enemies to lovers theme. The story is solid and well written, with an intriguing cast of characters. Their is a good bit of mystery about our heroine which is fun to uncover as the story progresses. The plot is also good and includes lots of twists and turns which will kept me engaged in the story. Overall, I found it to be a good introduction to the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Recommended.

OK so first of, I wasn't sure about this when I first started reading it. Once I got into the second chapter my curiosity was piqued, this book was very interesting. The storyline starts off a little slowish, but it's very descriptive. All the surroundings, smells and other details are described beautifully. The characters are diverse and rather exciting if I'm completely honest, Cian is such a dark sexy fae who I couldn't help but like instantly. There's alot of things going on in the plot, which watching it all unfold was intense. I definitely enjoyed this book, and intend to read the rest of this series.

Liva just wants to live in peace, and forget that she is half demon and witch (with both dark and light powers). Unfortunately that peace is broken when a fae (Cian) drops into her place of business, and demands her help. She is lucky that he doesn't kill her on site, seen fae normally like to strike down demons when they see them. I love Liva's feisty attitude and her determination, I loved the attraction going on between them, and I loved how the story all played out.

I enjoyed this bit of dark fun. It’s refreshing to have a PNR with demons where the story line isn’t about demons taking over or any traditional demonic tropes taking over the storyline. The perspective I get is that all characters have issues with their darkness and it’s a universal theme no matter the race. It read well and didn’t drag on with unnecessary filler. Good…Saved the whole series to read, good. Oh and no pregnancy, as if that’s the next best step after mating someone you’ve known a hot second. Yay!!

Their mother experimented on them to get powerful daughters who were half demon and half witch so she could keep the throne. One daughter refused to be that weapon instead using her powers to save others. They have made a place for them when he arrives from a demon hunter team. How will they get on? Will they be able to keep the other safe? Will they become close, very close? See just what will happen

I enjoyed this story that starts out as a simple job that then gets complicated. I enjoyed the characters and the 2 main ones were a blast together as they try to resist each other since they should hate each other. A bit of mystery, a touch of suspense, a lot of magic. Fun to read and had to see what was really going on and how it all played out.

Quick read

Typical romantasy girl plot line, a male makes her whole and live up to her full potential. Personally, I think a twist would have done this book a world of good. It's filled with "steamy" scenes that could have been replaced by actually getting to know one another but, what do I know.
