I'm a mother, wife, homemaker, pet lover, teacher, student, reader, writer, drinker of tea & wine (depending on the time of day) and sleep-deprived dreamer. I live in Syracuse, NY, with my husband, Doug (also a writer with books available on Amazon), our three children and too many furred & feathered friends to list!
This was my least favorite one. To be honest I didn't like anyone in this including Faith. She and her friends go on a safari trip. Here two people end up murdered. There is lots of fighting and everyone was making everyone miserable. Luckily the murders were solved and everything is fine for now.
This one takes place in Kenya. There is baking, animals, alcohol, theft, and murder. Also, the main character makes a couple of questionable decisions. The ending wasn't what I was expecting.
This was far too easy to predict from the get-go. Besides all that, this one was full of typos/inconsistencies where the wrong name was used, making it difficult to follow at times.
Faith and her friends from Slice of Paradise have joined several other couples on a Safari trip in Kenya. Faith, Laura, Grandma Bessie and their friends are really looking forward to exploring the area and seeing all of the different animals. Unfortunately, Roy Daish, another member of the safari party, is a chronic complainer and seems determined to ruin everybody's vacation. Roy's wife, Jasmine, tries to appease him, but his complaining continues unabated.
At the first stop on the safari, the Elephant Orphanage, their driver, Solomon, is found dead. Only two members of the safari, Richard Lovett and the tour guide, Mary Mbiti, knew Solomon from previous safaris. Therefore, the prevailing theory is that Solomon was killed by one of the workers at the Elephant Orphanage. Even after Solomon's murder, Roy continues to carry on with his persistent complaining. Mary tries her best to keep the peace and help everybody to enjoy the safari.
When Roy is found dead, the tension escalates.
Are the two deaths related? Who killed Solomon and why? Why was Roy being so disruptive and why was he killed? Can Faith and Laura uncover the killer before more people die?
The characters are well developed and the interactions are very believable. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, but the review is entirely my own.
Before this I always thought that I would like to go on a safari. Even if you missed the point of a safari if you went to see the roads,. Don’t look for koalas because there aren’t any – or tigers for that matter. However, there is a murderer in the mix somewhere. Don’t worry. The truth will out. It always does. Thank goodness for Grandma Bessie’s straightforward attitude. If you think this is convoluted, who would want to kill the driver that everyone likes? I asked myself the correct question shortly before Faith did. Let’s see how well you do with the clues that are sprinkled throughout the book.
This story dragged on way too long. I figured out who the killer was before I was half done and then couldn't wait for the book to end. There was way to much summarizing of the previous books in the later half of the book. It was a good book, but it was way too obvious it was written by two people. The previous books in the series were better written and read more easily.
4.5 stars. Of course my iPad decides to close out my review and deleted it. It’s a great series that reads like a cozy crime show. Each book is different, but you still have underlying plot lines that you’d miss if you read the books out of order. This is probably the highest stakes installment so far. They’re in a foreign country with strangers in the African wilderness. A lot more could have gone wrong, but I’m glad the story went where it did
Faith and Laura, as well as Nathan and Yale are going on a safari trip with Grandma Bessie and her new boyfriend. Even away from their home in FlorIda, Faith is busy trying to solve two deaths. Very well written and a good read.
I thoroughly enjoyed another in this series. Faith and Laura certainly live a very interesting life! And I love Grandma Bessie and Arthur. All of the characters are so believable. Can't wait to read book 3 which I somehow missed!
The gang is off on a safari and like in every crowd there is always one person who can be be pleased. Add murders to the mix and try to figure out who among the is a killer.
Aunt Bessie makes a surprising transformation in this mystery set in Africa. All of the usual players are involved, each one with their own theory. Follow the trails to find out who the real murderer is.
decent, but the narration is AI and not great In this installment, Faith's adventures continue as she navigates the challenges of running her café while becoming entangled in another local mystery. The narrative blends culinary delights with amateur sleuthing - and I still have no desire to try the recipes.
I liked the story taking place out of the country. Murder on a Safari was different from the other books in this series. I wasn't in suspense as I was with the other series books. I figured it out pretty much as soon as I started reading. All in all, I did like the storyline and learned about a Safari.
