Sins Of My Flesh

“What goes on in this house, stays in this house.” Bianca Hill was the black sheep of her family. She was smart, but she suffered from something that most people don’t want to talk mental illness. Her illness left her with low self-esteem. At an early age, she learned what love meant. Her life took a turn for the worse when she was sent to prison for five years. While locked up, she learned the importance of loving herself. Starting a new life and raising her son are Bianca’s only goals. A new love interest comes into her life and she feels like all her mental problems are over, until she is betrayed. Courtney Hill is the pretty sister of Bianca. She has her own issues that she tries to keep under wraps. She likes to sleep with random men for money. She was loved, but not the way she wanted to be loved. Courtney finds herself in a little trouble when she digs her claws into the wrong man. Finally, she finds Christ, but it may be too late. She catches herself back in the web of another man. Jealousy sets in right when she thinks she’s over her addiction. Join these two sisters as they battle with the sins of their flesh.

Another Banger

As usual, this is another Banger by this author. She never disappoints. It's nice to read a book without all the profanity, drugs and explicit sex. I also like the fact that it touched on a subject that is often not talked about. Mental illness is very real but often hidden because of lack or knowledge or just plain denial. Bianca suffered her whole life and met a tragic end by her own hands. There was plenty of drama to keep you flipping the pages wondering what's coming next. There is also a lesson to be learned, but you have to read to find out what it is. #UIP

Wow that was crazy

First time reading this author's work and I enjoyed the book. It touched on issues that a lot of people deal with on a daily basis, mental illness is real and should be discussed. Bianca had a rough childhood, from her mom to the kids at school plus she has to deal with her internal battles. There was Courtney with her personal identity issues, the pastor with his predatory ways and Tracie with her personality issues. A lot went on in this book, the ending though, left me speechless for a minute. Good book

Wanted a happy ending

Bianca suffered so much in her life. Dealing with mental illness and a dysfunctional family, she was 19 when she found a true love. I thought between her son and her beau, she would beat the illness by learning to live it. Some things are too hard for anyone to deal with. Expertly written, this was a page turner for me. I especially liked that there were no explicit sex scenes or cursing; I expect no less from Ms Johnson though. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed reading about Bianca. Mental illness is a serious matter and shouldn't be taken lightly. Courtney and Rodney should've been on medication. They deserved one another.

This was a well written emotional story that held my attention. The characters had deep, dramatic issues that are commonly experienced. Bianca's childhood was devastating. Courtney's actions surprised me, & were sad for the most part...Very good read

Very deep message.

This story of Bianca and her struggle with mental illness ended with an even deeper message. Mental illness is looked at as taboo and avoided. Maybe if she would have gotten help early but she reached out to the wrong person.
