The world of vampires and werewolves is in upheaval. The magical community is under attack by a great evil power trying to destroy them all and their strongest fighter is oblivious with his nose glued in a spell book. Yani has given up hope in getting Aaron back on track. He knows he instead has to focus on his own future and the lives of those he loves, even if it means losing Aaron, the love of his life, forever.
Yani's life isn't the only one in flux. As the battle heats up and lines are drawn, the rest of his friends must fight for their own survival in a world with no answers to the terrible magic attacking them.
When Mell Eight was in high school, she discovered dragons. Beautiful, wondrous creatures that took her on epic adventures both to faraway lands and on journeys of the heart. Mell wanted to create dragons of her own, so she put pen to paper. Mell Eight is now known for her own soaring dragons, as well as for other wonderful characters dancing across the pages of her books. While she mostly writes paranormal or fantasy stories, she has been seen exploring the real world once or twice.

I won this story in a give away from LT3, thank you Mell Eight and LT3.
This is the continuation of Yani's story. I liked it. I enjoyed the mystery of Maki and how it introduced and included the newer characters. Khan was a favourite, with the author's take on dragons different and entertaining, it worked for me with the ending. I felt this book flowed a lot better than the previous book and I'm really looking forward to the next book to see how Cain is dealt with.
*I received this novel for free in exchange for an honest review*
When a powerful and evil force starts attacking magical creatures, Yani and his friends find themselves drawn into the investigation. Disheartened by Aaron’s lack of interest in their relationship, Yani struggles to deal with the emotion and physical strain that the distance between them brings. Aaron is oblivious to Yani’s suffering and his ignorance ends up pushing Yani away. When one of their friends falls victim to the attacks, they must somehow work together to overcome the evil that threatens their community.
I really enjoyed the second instalment of the Magnified series. As a new reader, I found that due to the careful descriptions and world-building included meant that I did not become lost for not having read the first book in the series.
There was an array of interesting characters with their own magical abilities. My favourite was the dragon Khan as the author provided a unique take on dragon lore and one that completely fitted the character that they had created.
I also enjoyed how the author combined all the different lores and religions to create their world and its inhabitants. There is plenty of action as well as tender moments and I was disappointed once I reached the final page. I am definitely going to go back and read book one and cannot wait for more in this series.
I received this book from NetGalley to provide an honest review of this book. I picked this up as I'd already the first book of Yani and his friends Aaron, Brandon and Luke. We pick up 2 years on from the battle with Cain and Yani is hurting. Aaron isn't the same he's cut off and Yani feels rejected and alone. Cases still keep coming to them and he resolves to keep working until he can separate from Aaron and get strong again. During a case of a were-panda going berserk they run into Khan a were-dragon that lives on the same mountain who is also linked to the case and comes back with them to the coalition to help. There is the start of a romance between Yani and Khan while Aaron goes away to fix what turns out to be a spell. Upon his return they are all found to be suffering and it transpires that there have been a rash of torturing weres that aren't common and realise cain is back. There is a lot of emotion in this book for Yani with his relationship on the line and his family too in danger. A superb book can't wait for book 3

I received a copy of Justified by Mell Eight via IndiGo Marketing & Design in exchange for an honest review. I somehow thought this would conclude the story of Yani and Aaron and their fight against evil. It’s not a spoiler to say there is likely a third book to finish their saga. I really enjoyed some of the new characters introduced in this book and look forward to their exploits going forward. I would even read a new series focused on the pair who play an important role at the end of the book. The author does a good job of expanding the world created in the first book. It is difficult sometimes to tell why I like the story without giving anything away. I’ll just say the author has become a must-read for me.
From that review: " The Magnified novels, starting from the first story, is an amazingly complex and immensely mysterious series that's getting increasingly horrifying by the book. It's also quite wonderful, full of unexpected elements I've not seen in other tales. Mell Eight is combining mysticism with vampires, Nazis, Kabbalism, dragons, faeries, werewolves, horror, M/M romance and it all works.
The first story, Magnified, sets up the introduction and the couples and should not be missed. It's a gripping story. Without it, Justified floats without its foundation material. This is not a standalone novel. With Magnified as the backhistory for the couples and the situation they find themselves in, the reader can settle into the drama that is unfolding here in Justified."
I was so happy with book 2 in this series! We get to learn more about the characters from book one while getting to know new awesome characters as well. We also get to know more about the world and the variety of creatures (for lack of a better term) within. I can't wait for the next book!
