Nia Hudson, fashion powerhouse and philanthropist swore that love wasn’t for her, she was too busy chasing after her dreams. The quiet girl from Brooklyn refused to go back to the projects– being raised by her selfish aunt her whole life was the push she needed to run far away and never return. According to Ms. Hudson, actions have always spoken louder than words, so when a blast from the past resurfaces and refuses to take “no” for an answer, Nia decides to give him one hour of her time. Surprisingly, one hour turns into a week, a week transpires into months and before she knows it, the two have become a couple. Together, East and Nia don’t paint the perfect-picture– they have nothing in common, and in fact, he’s the complete opposite of everything she stands for. Dangerous, thrilling, edgy, secretive, and quiet describes her current beau. East is definitely living life in the fast lane. Selling any and everything he can get his hands on and not knowing when the FEDS or worst, friends disguised as enemies will be his downfall. East doesn’t care about her flashy lifestyle as long as the cameras don’t land on him. Nia isn’t who she “post” to be, surviving in the projects wasn’t easy, she didn’t always possess her sassy attitude. When what was supposed to be a fun date night for the couple leads to Pandora’s Box being opened, Nia is left feeling betrayed. In this new suspenseful and quite romantic series from NAKO, love has been put to the ultimate test. Can the past be forgiven?

I’ve always loved Nia and East since the Underworld! Finally getting to see where they started from is everything. Nia is truly my shero - she worked her tail off to have the empire she deserves. East is so smitten with Nia, it’s so cute. But the ending.. also, yeah, I don’t like Harlem at all!
Enjoyed going along with Nia and East in this one. Didn’t really get much on their backgrounds though so you couldn’t really understand what was holding them back beside something to do with her ex Biggs. I’m thinking maybe East had something to do with his fall but I’m not really understanding what’s going on with Harlem.
After Papa shows up I’m getting the thought that Harlem had more to do with Biggs than anyone though. East seems suspect as well but not to the point where he comes off as a bad guy but he stepped back for something. The timeline seemed a bit off, at first, I thought two three years had passed but then it seemed like she went from 21 to 28 but maybe she was 21 when she had a flashback of her life or something.
In all it was interesting, didn’t like the ending though, it was a bit too predictable and the way Demi came at her right then was off as well. Not really into books where the characters don’t grow so in the next one I’m hoping East moves on from what he’s been doing into something he cannot have to worry as much about.
Good introduction Another remarkable couple has surfaced in this love story of East & Nia. The beginning of this series was well written with a captivating storyline that had me hooked in no time. East seems to be a pretty good fella while Nia was totally about her business. Good appearances by Papa & Demi combined with the ending has me ready to read what happens next!

Very interesting, well written book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would have loved to know of the background story of some of the characters, especially Harlem’s suspect behind. Nazi was suspect as well. The relationship between Nia and East was so pure. Can’t wait to read book two to find out what happened to East and/or Papa.
Alright at first I was so incredibly skeptical about this book- the cover is sus and each chapter starts with a quote and I just thought that was kind of funny, however they won me over when they used a Justin Bieber quote for sure. I enjoyed reading this, it was sweet how much East cared about Nia even when Nia was holding on to Bigg. It was inspiring to see how Nia went from broke living in her aunts basement to a very famous celebrity. I didn’t like that it didn’t go in depth to anything East was doing, and a lot of things were mentioned but were not followed up - like her aunt, the beef with Harlem, Nasi’s abusive marriage, or Samones tattoo show. I was skeptical to read the rest of the series but now that I’ve come to that cliff hanger how can I not see what happens to East and Papa!?!

This was my first read from this author and most definitely won't be my last. I liked how Nia was portrayed. The author didn't take her on this crazy ride just so she could get her goals achieved. East was a hood dude and had a good heart. I can't wait to see wait to see what's next with this couple.
This book was good from beginning to end... Nia is a hard working sister that met and fell in love with a real thug with a gentle side for her.. People who they thought were loyal aren't as loyal as they might think.. Jealousy is a nasty beast when planted in the hearts of family and friends... I can't wait to read part II
Nako is a beast at creating strong females that get it from the bottom and still are humble. Lauren is the first Boss i met, then Yara, after Gezelle i ain’t think they could get any better but I’m loving Mrs Nia. She so independent but at the same time passive with East. And he’s been nothing but good thus far, i hate that i already know he gonna end up cheating later from reading the underworld and i hate that she bout to become friends with Jordyn ohhhh heck no i hate that chick lol she did Nas wrong, ooohhh man I’m just remembering she ain’t make the wedding dress for my girl Lo, all that may come up in the next few books, we’ll i will see Nia’s POV of them situations.. on to book 2
This is my first read from this author and sadly it will be the last. This book had sooooo much potential but was very hard to follow. It was all over the place. First she handles her own money due to “trust no one” but then she’s asking her account in another state to send her money? 🤔One minute she’s in the hospital, and in the next damn paragraph they’re in Buenos Aires! I mean it just jumped from one thought to the next. I feel like I wasted my time! I really tried to get into this book but found myself skipping through pages and having serious eye roll 🙄 moments.
This was an okay book. I love Nia’s drive. She is a go getter although I think the timeline was a little off. I would gather it’s been years since East driest saw Nia but sometimes he’ll mention only a year since he first saw her. Strange. But I love how romantic East is and how he makes time for her. I don’t know why Harlem acting sneaky or why Nazi tripping but they need to chill. I laughed at how sleepy Nia was every time lol. I might pick the series up again and read book 2.
I'm only at 22% and I'm sorry, but I'm bored to tears. No paragraph breaks and the book literally skips to new POVs, times, and scenes without a segue.
I'm all for building up suspense and introducing all characters from jump since this is a 4 book story. However, I have yet to be pulled in or want to know more about these characters. It seems by the time their intros start, you're on to the next POV without warning.
This is my first book by this author. I'll look into some of her other work. Maybe this one isn't for me.
It is truly good to see Nia finding love again. Also, it is great that East has found love with a true woman, lady, queen, boss and simply a female running and holding her own business. The problem is that I believe that Harlem is a low lying snake in the grass and hell is gonna break loose. I hope that East and Nia can go through the bumps on there ride to lasting love and happiness.
Two hardworking people trying to make time for their relationship is the story of East and Nia. Nia had an unsupportive Family and she crawled her way to success. We know East got a past but it is not all the way revealed yet. I gave the book 4 stars because I felt that some part of the story was rushed but that didn’t take away from the story overall. Me and Nia have both fell in love with a Brooklyn thug lol
Eastland (East) and Nia Hudson's chance meeting, start dating & experience relationships ups & downs is told in the first person. They are both independent people with their own money & their group of friends. This is a three 📖 series that I will enjoy reading. Up next is Book #2. 7/23/2020.
What can i say, Nia is one in a million, and that East do they still make them like him? Great Great read, who much detail, like just choose your eyes and you crabby invision what's going on. Im on to the next.
Nia was a true go better she set her mind and she made it happen. What is up with Harlem something not right. East love him some Nia but what is he hiding. Really good read.
Omg not East😲😲😲!! Soon as Nia is finally able to let go someone always messing it up!! I smell a hater and a disloyal person... Definitely can't wait to see what happen!!!
This was a good book. Nia Hudson went from a project chick to a celebrity fashion powerhouse and philanthropist. After losing the love of her life to death, she really didn't think she would love again. But then came along East. Read the book to find out about their love story.
I've read the Underworld series and don't know how I missed this series. I've not been a big fan of Nia but now reading this gives me a different view of her. I really am enjoying their love story. I already liked East but now I love him.
I like this book. Nia came from the bottom on her way to the top. East is in the street heavy. I like watching their romance heat up. I'm anxious to see what the haters will do. On to book two 🙂.
Enjoyed beginning to end , giving love a chance wasn't to bad , sad when your past will try to destroy you because you have made a better life for yourself
Dragged tf outta this story sis not reading 2 or 3 cuz i know Its a drag .... repetitive reading skipped paragraphs and pages and i aint miss nothing special!!
I love how East and Nia met briefly that one summer day and years later they met again..Love how he won her over and she let herself be loved again. Great book
