Hello Happy Readers! I am the mother of my first Poetry Debut " Table for One". I hope that this collection falls into your hands one day! I started writing when I was in Middle School, when I experienced a hardship that wasn't easy to grasp in my family. But writing became second nature to me and released so much energy that I had to let go. Since then, I've gone through more trials and writing was my only escape. So this led me to combine more work and focus solely on expressing these emotions with the world. I plan on continuing to write and publishing more books ensuring so many others that they are not alone in their pain and journey. Especially as a woman, I find it so important to stay strong and create a journey of self-love and embracing your worth.

Amazing and beautiful debut collection. Filled with honesty and raw emotion. The author takes the reader through a journey of a toxic relationship, realizations, and self-love. I loved how the author expresses herself through poetry, rhyme, and prose. Giving us different styles but still laying her heart out to us. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's experienced lost love and needs to find some strength. Laura will give you that !

Solid first collection. I enjoyed how the book was themed - paralleling the journey with a night out at dinner (hence, the title). I liked the work included in this book more than the writing the author posts daily on her social media channels. It is more fleshed out and deeper in the book.

While I love poetry, I usually am not one for rhyming poems but Table For One has changed my views completely!

Each page was so well written and drew me in and the way Laura weaved her words, I could feel her very soul in each word. She perfectly depicts the struggles and pain of losing yourself to build up another to only be beat down by the one you love(d). I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I shall be re-reading it again and again!

I felt like this collection oscillated between wanting to find strength in whom the poet is as a woman, and a woman who is scorned trying to get her thoughts in prose. And I get that.
I get the need to look through our heartbreak, and sifting through emotions to look for when, and where the relationship failed. I understand shaking the deluded thoughts of the 'what ifs' and 'if onlys,' as those thoughts will only do more harm than good.
I could hear the frustrations from Laura Ashley in each word she wrote. I heard and felt her anger and saw her bitter tears, as she tried to form enough coherent thought to tell us what this heartbreak did to her.
And whoever you are, mister, this woman absolutely did not deserve you.
In between some heavy piercing pieces for this "character," she kept some pieces of strength for herself. Those pieces touched me. Here she is broken and haunted. But her sureness that one day she'll wake from this heartache is evident throughout. She still had hope within her. She still had love in her.
Throughout this collection, her heart and mind battled between holding on to false promises and toxic love, and letting go of her insecurities. I applaud you, Laura, on your tenacity to fight for your heart. After all, when it comes to love and putting ourselves first, I'd rather have a Table for One than sit in pained and uncomfortable silence with mixed company.

And in her own thoughts, "This is me and I am new and you can leave." Bravo, superwoman.

First off, I love this cover. It represents what is inside the book so well. There were so many poems I know my heart broken self from the past would have loved to hear. Most people experience heartbreak in their life and this is the perfect poetry book to comfort you during that time but also learn to love the most important person, yourself. Great job, Laura!

Bravo, but no

Love the ideas, passion, and the notion of a journey to self love. I just personally can't do stilted poetry and contrived rhymes.

I flew through this poetry collection! I'm not typically a huge fan of rhyming poetry but the author really made it work without being awkward/cliche. A lot of my favorite thoughts came from the longer prose pieces.
A few of my favorites were titled: "Realization 3" "Realization Within" and "Words to Myself" (my personal favorite).

"You hear that, heart? I'm here for you. I will love you. I will cry with you...I will never leave you. Yes, I will never allow you to be hurt by me."

Table for One is full of emotion and powerful advice. I think this is a fabulous debut. 5/5

Love the concept

The concept and the progression of this book are both so creative!
I enjoyed the strong ideas behind each poem and the themes of self love and empowerment. I think I would enjoyed some of the poems more if they were not kept to a strict rhyme, as this would have allowed more creativity to flow with word choice and imagery.
A cohesive collection and I enjoyed it!

A Perfect Collection of Heartbreak
4.5/5

This book rhythms crazily awesome and I really love the poems! "Words To Myself" is one of my fav you should check it out in the book!
Some poems in this book are longer than usual poetry but I really love them because it feels more lively and it's not cliche AT ALL!

I really enjoy reading a series of poems from this book because it feels very pleasant and I can feel what the author writes on the pages. Such a great read!
