I've read up to approximately chapter 500. The story centers around a chinese boy who is transported into a fantasy realm of magical pill creators, beasts, and martial artists. It is, as far as I know, part of a genre known as cultivation.
This author is terrible at characterization. There are a lot of people and most of them get little to no screentime or development. I had to write a cheat sheet because I kept forgetting who was who. Either due to cultural differences or poor writing, the relationships are lacking. Their conversations and interactions are overly stiff and robotic while their predicaments and personalities are unempathetic, repetitive, and trivial.
In contrast the author spends much more time building a world that is interesting, coherent, and logical. The first three arcs especially give me a feeling of a vast country full of cities, history, and politics. He switches between personal, local, and worldwide issues in a way that feels surprisingly realistic. On more than one occasion I was hooked by the environment and wider political scope of the series.
Overall it is a huge time investment. If you have limited time, dislike reading, or don't know Chinese (the English translations are at 200 and will be finished in about 10 years), you may be better served on a different, shorter, more well-written novel. However, if you like open-ended stories within a vast and intriguing world that follows the same characters through multiple arcs, (kind of like a chinese long running anime) I recommend this.

In my humble opinion, the story is just a so so, not too much plot twist but it's still good to read. I enjoy a lot when the ML kindly teased MC alot (well, sometimes the MC is just too stupid). But for you who prefer drama, I don't think this book will be good because sometimes I just feel like this book is just too good to be true.

I have finished reading the Chinese version and one thing that I dislike about this book is that some of the names are repetitive. Such as "Tian Xin Sect" in the first arc and then there are another girl from the beast guild named " Tian Xin ". There are a few other cases where the names are recycled and at some point I do get confused but got over it soon after.
The story are slow-paced but there are basically 3 Main arc and the first Arc are mostly the introduction which take part at Tian Xin Sect, once they reached Dao Xin Academy, it start to pace up a bit and by the time they reached the Upper Realm, the plot did slow down again for a bit however it is when MC and ML gets to understand each other past better. It can also be said that their r/s were already at the peak whereby nothing can break them apart since their time at Dao Xin Academy.
I like it that the MC are not all useless and slowly growing up or " leveling up " and try hard to become a better half for ML since ML is ridiculously overpowered for the first 2/3 of the story.

This relationship is lacking, whether due to cultural differences or poor writing. Their dialogue and interaction shreds too rigid and rigid, while their plight and personality are unsympathetic, repetitive and trivial.
By contrast, the author spends more time building a interesting, coherent and logical world. More than once, I was captivated by the context and broader political context of the series.
Overall, this is a huge time investment. I highly recommend this book and, if I have the chance, i'll let my friends read this too.

an okay book for take your mind off stuff. the romance is kind of unbalanced and i feel you never really get the feeling that ling xiao actually cares for you xiaomo outside of what you xiomo can provide for him.

I liked it, there were some bits were it dragged but overall it was great and its very descriptive like it paints a picture and you visualise it well. So i loved that about it and the whole different realm thing❤️😂 it was interesting and some intense sex scenes

A great novel which I highly recommend reading. Its translation in English is over so people who can't read Chinese can also read it in English.
