Fantastic, hypnotic unputdownable read!! Not enough words to explain the joy it was to read this romance! Silas by S.R. Watson is part one in the Playboy’s Lair series and it is one book you must add to your summer reading list!
Brennan Delavan was born and raised in the Neumann Mansion. Even though she had wealth around her she was on the other end of the house, she would be considered “The Help”. When her mother dies unexpectedly, and when the year of her death’s anniversary comes upon her she is let go of work from the one place she calls home. She is relocated to Florida and unknowingly brought to a yacht to become a housemaid to Mr. Lair.
Silas Lair owns the Playboy Lair, the premier exclusive yacht that caters to the rich, sexually kinky fantasy types. I’ve experienced some pretty infuriating character relationships in my years of reading, but these two rank pretty high up there in the category of wanting them to just stop what they are doing and figure stuff out because…. Wow. Tons of miscommunication and just an overall cluster to the point I was actually kinda happy that she considered leaving the cruise. Also, ending like that?? Ughhhhhh.

I started this book thinking I wouldn't like the dynamic between the H and h. But she surprised me with a bit of snark and his talk was worse than his actions. Looking forward to the end of their journey.

2.5 ⭐️ The punctuation really bothered me, like WHY ARE THERE SO MANY exclamation marks where they don’t belong?! It was too much. Also, their banter was kindaaaa cringe, and for a virgin home girl sure did PLUNGE into the deep end of sexual activity so like that wasn’t even remotely believable.

This was a good start to their story. Brennan and Silas are two very different people. He introduces her to his world and some of his interests. Surprisingly enough she enjoys it. Things are going good for them but of course he has a past. Which is now going to be a problem. It will be interesting to see how their story continues.

Okay I was curious about reading a romance novel written by a male and I can’t say I’m surprised with the content and the spicy scenes. I absolutely hated the MMC he just seemed like such a sleazeball. His interactions with all 3 of the women were a big ick to me and the FMC just was way to naive to actually have me believing their relationship would workout.

Brennan is used to living in luxury… but not because she has the luxury, because her mom was the help. But when her mom dies, she’s left with nothing but the backhouse on her mom’s bosses property. After being kicked out, she’s shipped off to help Silas on his luxury yacht. The problem is, this niave girl has no idea what she’s stepping into.
Silas is a millionaire, okay maybe a billionaire…. And he and his buddies run a yacht cruise where he host sex parties and teaches the art of sex and all that comes with it. He keeps women at bay, simply because he’s had his heart broken and he’s not looking to have it ripped out again. But that all changes when Brennan walks on his boat.
Brennan, not used to the attention, doesn’t know how to behave. While she’s attracted to the man, she doesn’t want to be seen hooking up with her boss… but how long can these two really keep their distance. And what happens when Silas’ lies and past come creeping up out of nowhere?
Overall I really enjoyed the book. Silas is sinfully hot and while I like Brennan, she irked me at times. I think the whole back and forth she had with Silas. I read this book in one sitting, because I needed to know what was going to happen, and just when I thought I was going to get my answers…… Boom cliff hanger! So needless to say I need to get my hands on book two ASAP!

The plot has some potential, but its not well written. The story feels like it was written by a teenager. Its shallow, poorly researched and childish. It was like the author read 50 Shades, and just decided to write a kink book. Unfortunately 50 Shades wasn't well versed on BDSM, but at least it had a decent story. This book has neither. I definitely won't be reading the second book.

Brennan had worked for the Newman’s as a housekeeper forever and Brennan followed in her mothers footsteps. When he mother diedBrennan continued to work until one day when she decided to go for a swim. Mrs.Newmann would not tolerate Brennan she was let go from her job but, the head of the household staff Thomas had already gotten her a job in Florida. Silas was wealthy and would take his yacht with out for different theme activities for the guests who were into kink.
Brennan was sent to work for Silas she had no idea it was on a yacht. Tory was on board getting the party started. Brennan was picked up in a limo and brought to the marina where the yacht was moored. She couldn’t believe she would be working on the yacht. Brennan meets with Atticus he was the Mr. Liar’s house manager. Atticus thanked her for her honesty and told her that she is a housekeeper not a maid. Brennan meets Silas but has no idea who he is until the big meeting. Tory is suppose to train Brennan but her jealousy got the better of her. Silas has been sleeping with Tory but now she was getting possessive. Jacob team leader makes sure Brennan will know her duties. Brennan makes friends with Seth he presented himself as gay. Brennan never had a phone so Silas buys a phone for her and lets her know that it had a camera and signs the note Mr.Smug Hottie aka Silas. Brennan was downstairs doing her work as she is walking she walks into Silas and Tory in a compromising position. Brennan takes off she was embarrassed he dismisses Tory. Silas tells Brennan that he wants to be her friend and to loan her his camera for photos. Brennan and Silas were carrying on with their affair until a blast from the past shows up and puts Brennan and Tory in their place saying that she was his first love. Brennan goes to give Silas back his camera and finds Jasper and Silas on the couch.

Silas Lair has a thriving and exclusive business set upon his yacht. Where the rich and kinky can come to learn and experience new facets of their chosen sex life. While business is good, and he has no issue with getting women, he doesn’t realize what he may be missing, until he has an encounter with the newest member of his staff.
Brennan is outspoken, inexperienced and a breath of fresh air, Silas is sexy, dominating and… interested in her? When the inevitable happens and they both give in to their attraction it may bring more change than either one of them realized…
I liked this first installment of the series. Brennan may be young and naive, but she is refreshing in her inability to be too intimidated by Silas’ obvious wealth and to not be herself around him. Silas, while rich and comfortable in his lifestyle has some deep underlying issue that is holding him back from a relationship.
This book has an interesting plot, with some unanswered questions lingering in the background, which will hopefully be addressed in the next installment. With Brennan and Silas’ instant attraction and the hot and steamy sex scenes, you get a glimpse into the world of the Playboy’s Lair and the players who inhabit it…

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but everything fell flat for me. The characters felt quite flat and seemed one-dimensional. The love interests also didn’t seem to connect in any way other than physical, although even the physical “connection” felt forced and kind of ridiculous.
***Minor spoiler:
Someone who’s a virgin almost immediately jumps into anal and super kinky BDSM play and also somehow knows how to give the most amazing blowjobs ever? *eye roll*
The editing was poor and included tons of typos, which also detracted from the story (although the entire story felt flat, absurdly predictable, and everything felt very rushed). I’m all for a good romance that sort of follows a formula to an extent, but this felt like someone had a very specific and simplistic formula and sort of Mad-Libbed it into a rushed and unoriginal story.
I usually enjoy almost all romances and very rarely have significant criticisms, but I had so many issues with this one that it wasn’t possible to really enjoy.

This is such a strong, addictive storyline. It really left me speechless. The story was breathtakingly beautiful and painful. I went through every emotion reading this book. I really don't want to give anything away as I don't want to ruin your experience reading this book. All I will say is this is the most amazing read. You will get angry, you will swoon and find your self smiling and I did shed a tear. I had to start the second book without a break. I didnt want to waste a second without knowing what was in store for Silas and Brennan.
This is in my top 3 books of the year. An Absolutely brilliant read.

Silas keeps his emotions to himself never letting anyone pass through the walls that he’s put up but when he meets Brennan all bets seem to go through the window because he finds himself doing things he wouldn’t normally do.
Brennan is plain and ordinary in comparison to Silas, she’s the help, he’s the boss. There’s no way it could work. Right?!
Well I’ll tell you that this book captivated me so much that I read until 2am and there was no more to read.
So happy that I already have book 2! Can’t wait to dive in today and finds out what happens!

I really enjoyed Silas and Brennan's story. After being fired from her job and sent away from the only home she has ever known, her world is changed forever. She is now working on a mega yacht for adults. Silas's business is all about sex and giving his clients the opportunity to act out their fetishes. Brennan lived with her mother and always knew she was just the daughter of the maid. Silas has his pick of any woman he wants but for some reason he cannot get Brennan out of his head. They couldn't be any different. They come from two entirely different worlds. Can't wait to read more! Bring on part 2!

3.5: An interesting read to say the least. I’m intrigued for sure. This ends on a huge cliffhanger. Silas is a rich businessman who owns a yacht and hosts kink cruises.
Brennan is a housekeeper who finds her very sheltered self on this yacht as the new help. Silas loves her innocence and is drawn to her. Brennan welcomes his advances but is caught up in ex-girlfriend and ex-lover drama.
I liked it even though Brennan has been so sheltered but in an instant is engaging in activities that I’m not even sure she’d have known about. I appreciate her openness, and will read the next to see what happens which I guess is why author’s leave such cliffhangers!

A wonderful read!
Having read this book at least three times now, I can say with upmost confidence that this is one of my favorite books by these authors. This was the first book I read of theirs and it got me hooked. I can feel a part of each of them through out the story. If I could change just one thing would be the slightly over cockiness of Silas. I am all for self loving people. I personally love characters who, while yes good looking, aren’t perfect in just about everything. Makes them feel a little more relatable. But having read this three times I love the book. Highly recommend.

Okay I binged read this first book in this duet series. I have to say it addicting. This story isn’t simple, it’s complicated, and duty and has you coming back for more and more.
Silas and Brennan, what can you say about their love story? It definitely isn’t easy and there road is full of obstacles. And these obstacles take them off course. I’m itching to read the next book and conclusion to this amazing series.

WOW!! This book is quite powerful! The many emotions had my heart beating out of my chest and my blood pressure through the roof. The storyline is intriguing, emotionally deep, funny, witty, and steamy. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is instant, intense and potent. The story kept me on the edge of my seat – I wanted to look away but I could not because it had me hooked, wanting to know what comes next. I can hardly wait to read book 2. Definitely recommended!

The heat is off the charts HOT!!1
SR Watson is a new to me author and I have followed Ryan “Stacks” Harmon on Instagram for quite a bit now, since I discovered that he was on a book I had read. (Kinda creepy, I know) Anyway, this story is very intriguing, emotional and holy hotness!! 🔥 Nothing could stop me from turning the pages. Now I am heading back to Amazon to get the second book, as the ending of book one left me hanging!! I would definitely give more than 5 stars if I could!! Great a work!!

Jesus! I am sitting here confused with emotions; heartbroken and pissed at the same time...for both Brennan and Silas. They both been through so much, in very different ways. She never deserved the hand she has been dealt and he didn't deserve having his heart broken. I am pissed at the way their walls go up and they way they hurt each other... Moreso at Silas. Seth/Kassius angered me, but I am letting him slide at the moment.... Ohh And I REALLY HATE Tory with Jasper coming in at a close second...

It’s got the bones of a good book. Nice heat, spice and snark. Popped up on my TikTok feed and boasted that author was male. Overall good, easy read, slightly interesting characters. But the spice level could be dirtier, hotter, detailed out more. Mainly for the main male character, what was his point of view with spanking, yes female butt bares the mark, but why does it get him off.
If it exists, I’d love to read the first draft. Feels as if the authors wrote the book to mimic Sara Cate series, but much more milder and safer.

I really enjoyed part 1 of Silas and Brennan’s story and can’t wait to read the conclusion! I need to know what happens.
This books is full of hot sexual chemistry between the two main characters. Silas is a millionaire who meets Brennan in her first day of work, and even though he knows he should stay away, he can’t. Then someone from his last shows up and throws everything out of control.

Wow, this was intense and hot. This book has two characters that come totally from other worlds and yet the chemistry is so powerful that they are drawn together. But it is not easy because there are many things in the past. I really enjoyed this book. It reads nicely through the short timeline and because the chemistry is good you keep reading. Let's hope that part two reads just as nice. From me 5 stars

Silas is a fast paced, intriquing read. It drew me in from the start to the end, (cliffhanger) The characters Bennan and Silas were so in tune with eachother from the moment they meet. Brennan is naive at some things, yet after living with wealthy she's cynical, she's stronger than she thinks. Silas is a man of money, he doesn't do relationships but when he meets Bennan she's knocks him on his butt. Can't wait to read part two and find out what's going to happen.
