Arnesbury, middle-ranking government wizard, wants an apprentice. When his young next-door neighbor, Arthur, comes forward as a candidate, Arnesbury is thrilled to discover the boy is an unrivaled genius. However, a magical terrorist organization may have already contacted Arthur, and Arnesbury must discover whether his apprentice is being groomed to bring down the wizards' governing body from within. But does Arthur even have magic?
An interesting premise for a book. Very much liked how the interactions between the boy and the wizard played out. But it's too short, making dialogue feel stunted and the story incomplete. The ending was also very sudden. I think the writing needs expanding to make this a more complete experience.
