Merely Mortal

Rate this book
Bad things happen to good people--that's just life, or at least, that's what everyone says. Andrew has always just assumed that he drew the short straw in the game of life. Sure, he asked himself when he was a little kid “why me” but he quickly figured out that no one cares why bad things happen on the street, what matters is survival.
Andrew's life is ripped apart during a street fight and the love of his life, Alice is killed. When he should be shipped off to life in prison, a retired police officer and owner of “Alexander's Group Home for Boys” convinces the court to let Andrew be rehabilitated at the group home under Ammon's supervision.
It quickly becomes clear to Andrew that things are not what they seem but can Andrew accept the truth? Can his merely mortal body contain the power that's being unlocked? Sometimes it's just easier to give in and let the rage take over.
