The mood at Moorworth High is unsettled, as is the ground beneath it. Principal Maxwell Hambly, the self-appointed innovator in chief, has paved the way for one of the largest construction projects in the school’s history. Yet Hambly’s intention to leave a brick and mortar legacy is marred not only by scandal and distraction within the school, but by the very ground beneath his feet. Driven by ego and a blind commitment to progress, Hambly fails to heed the signs, erecting an amphitheater in his own honor. His overreach comes at a cost as graduation night ends in a cataclysmic failure, literally claiming Hambly’s structure while lifting up a number of unlikely characters in the process.
