Elizabeth (Beth), an accountant in her family's company, may have been born into a wealthy family, but she's tended to rebel against the expectations put upon her because of it. As she's enjoyinga visit with her new friend, Amanda, a journalist, they're on the subway, when Beth notices a man seemingly focused on her friend. As they're separated by a crowd, Beth is scared when she sees the man close to Amanda. That quickly turns to terror and heartbreak as she witnesses that same man push Amanda onto the tracks, resulting in her death. But then Beth starts piecing together things...namely how similar Amanda looks to Beth and that she was wearing Beth's jacket with a logo people associate with Beth. She knows she needs help, possibly a bodyguard, and she can only think of one man she'd trust to keep her safe, just as he had when she was younger.
Wyatt didn't want to join the family business and instead made his own way, by joining the Navy, and then Stealth Security after leaving the SEALs. As Wyatt had just finished an assignment a few days prior, he's unsure what his next one will be. He definitely didn't expect to see Beth, his childhood friend. He hadn't seen her in years, and they hadn't parted on the best of terms. Wyatt is shocked to learn what Beth's family, her brother and uncle, have accused her of and can't help but question if she did it. He's also wondering what she isn't telling him, because there is something she's hiding.
As Wyatt and Beth begin spending time together while he watches over her, both are feeling the attraction, but they're also each determined to ignore it. After crashing her brother, Kyle's, birthday party, Wyatt is more curious than ever, not seeing any physical threat from her family. But then they return to her home and his opinion changes. Wyatt will flush out the attacker and figure out who is behind it, ensuring Beth is safe. At least, being in close quarters, they're finally able to discuss what happened right before he left and make amends, repairing their previous friendship.

One-click now and follow along as two childhood friends who'd lost touch are reunited and realize there's so much more between them then they could've ever imagined. I am loving this series and can't wait to read the next book. I'm hoping it's Hunter's. He intrigues me. Then again, so does Tessa, Stealth's receptionist. On a side note, and this is completely unbiased *wink,* I love this heroine's name, and nickname. LOL
