In my years as a reviewer, in every month, I find a book with a deep and thought provoking story. These kinds of books hold a special plot that sinks you in and traps you. The kinds of books have characters that you want to pick apart and get to know the person inside. The person behind the tales. The person behind the mystery. Respect is certainly that book. When I saw this book, I did not know what this book was about. I went in blind and what a brilliant move I made. This book truly PERFECTION. Simply GLORIOUS. Every word, every sentence, every paragraph and every chapter was a hit on the nail straight to my heart. Aleatha Romig wrote a book that will grab you and shake you tot he core. She wrote a book with a changing and resplendent plot that captivated me. Aleatha defintiely gave her A game and wrote a book with such an evolving and masterly vibe that will make you captive. I LOVED it. I MARVELED at it. I simply let it TAKE me.

You will dig deep into a spectacular and mesmerizing story. Respect is truly special.
Respect is a standalone read that will take you to a reading journey you will not forget. A definite must read. I highly recommend it.

There is something about mafia stories that I just love and this story was perfect. A story and world where Respect and Honor dominate. Where following orders, obeying the boss and being part of a family Rule. While Love is passionate and all encompassing, the life of Cosa Nostra is first and foremost and can begin to smother the love.
Oren Demitri.....Driven, Handsome, Intelligent and Respectful. He worked hard to be more than his father. To make something out of nothing. He was an outsider until he fell in love with an insider. Angelina Costello, the niece of the Boss, Carmine Costello, of the Costello Family. To love Angelina, was to be included in the family which garnered respect, honor, and trust. But with all that, expectations came at a high price.
This beautiful love story was filled with complications. Oren’s desires to make Demetri Enterprise successful, Oren’s desires to be respected and trusted by Carmine and his son, Vincent, and Oren’s desires to make Angelina safe, happy and loved. But with all these desires, some grew while others failed. Oren was only human and because he married into the Family, he had to work harder to show his allegiance. And working harder took time away from Angelina. But despite his time away with his business and the Family, Oren’s love for Angelina kept him going. But for Angelina, time away only created distance.
Respect......the struggles of the Cosa Nostra, business and love......some succeed and others failed. The author brought intensity and passion to these struggles and created an intriguing story. The life of Oren Demetri, “The making of a man” with the joys and heartbreak was a compelling and moving read.

If you’ve read Romig’s Infidelity series, you’ve met Oren Demetri. You know him as Nox’s father. I was so excited to read Oren’s story and interested to hear about his past.
Oren Demetri made many choices in his life. They made him the man he is today. Some of those choices were good, some were poor, but they were all his. He owned them. Oren grew up needing respect. It was the most important thing to him. Then he met Angelina Costello and fell in love. His priorities changed for a while. Angelina was born into a mafia family and marrying her makes Oren part of that family. I would love to say Oren continued to make the right choices in his life, but he is human and he didn’t always do the best thing…
Oren struggles with his choices. He struggles with doing the right thing. He’s successful in business, but with that, his personal life and family life start to fall apart. Was it worth it in the end? I’d like to say no. I think if Oren could change a lot of those choices he made, he would.
I did enjoy this story for the most part. Romig’s writing is fantastic as always and the story was strong. I guess there were just a few things that made me lose, well… respect for Oren. I’m not sure how I felt about how the last bit of the story played out, and even though I knew how the story would end, it broke my heart.
Overall, I did enjoy this book. It was a solid read. For fans of the Infidelity series like me, it was great to see a young Nox and watch him grow up. Angelina was by far my favorite character in the book. One thing I always love about an Aleatha book is that it captivates me from the start. This book did that. Even though there were parts where Oren didn’t live up to the man I thought he would be, I feel that he turned it around by the end. I recommend this to all that loved the Infidelity series, and if you haven’t read them yet- this would make a great prequel!

Angelina’s gaze met mine through the lace veil. Her splendor was beyond my comprehension. Her beauty went beyond the surface. Yes, the surface was utterly stunning, yet it paled in comparison to her heart and soul. Deep within, she was perfection.
Venus and Aphrodite were but mythical goddesses in lore.
Angelina was my goddess of love and beauty. Standing in front of her family, friends, and associates, I willingly surrendered my all to her. Without a doubt, I’d been lost to her since the day we met, her existence affecting me like no other had or would.
Star-crossed lovers?
I didn’t believe it could be possible. Our destiny was together. It had taken too long to make it to this pinnacle. We were meant to be—forever. I knew that with every molecule within my body and soul.
The organ’s music rang through the large pipes, vibrating through the air and rattling the old altar. I continued to grip my own hands, unable to take my eyes off of her, the white dress, veil, and bouquet in her grasp. She was the epitome of a blushing bride. Even beneath the lace, her gorgeous face with rosy cheeks shone through, not to be outdone but rather complemented by her piercing blue eyes and radiant smile.

I feel like maybe I read this wrong considering the wealth of 4-5 star reviews but I cannot go on.
I'm going to hurt myself if I keep narcoleptically passing out due to this written ambien. I have to think of myself.
Maybe it gets incredible after 35%. Maybe I'm defective. Maybe I'm missing out on something truly extraordinary, but if I'm not invested by the 35% mark...
I'm not even sure if this book can be categorized as a romance. It struck me as more focused on Oren making a name for himself within NYC's Cosa Nostra in the 80s.
He's a low level mobster who falls for Angelina, the niece of Carmine Costello, head of the family. He has to prove himself. Blah, blah, blah. She's butthurt because he's never around due to his ladder climbing/ass-kissing. Blah, blah, blah. They have a big wedding. They have a baby. He feels bad because he's never there for her. Blah, blah, blah. People get popped. There's money laundering. Oren's always worried for the safety of his Angel...
Maybe if I'd been anticipating a mob story things would've worked out better but I was laboring under the impression this was a romance. The romance was a little too mundane and subdued for my tastes and the pacing is glacial.
My record with slice of life is hit or miss and this was definitely in the latter category, so bear that in mind if you're considering it. There's nothing wrong with Romig's writing; it's more the story arch that doesn't suit me. As always my opinions are my own and YMMV.

An epic story about ambition, determination, betrayal, and love. I savored every page.
If (like me) you were intrigued by Oren in the Infidelity series, this is the book for you. It's a true stand-alone, because it's Oren's story. It focuses on how he became the man he was in Infidelity.
It's about Oren and Angelina (Nox's mom), and the life that led to the beginning of Betrayal. It's intense, mafia, thrilling--like all of Aleatha's books. The heart of the book is Oren's love of Angelina and his family. (Of course, a young Nox makes a cameo.)
Fantastically written, excellently told--don't miss this FIVE STAR masterpiece!!!

Don't be fooled this book is not beautiful but there are beautiful parts to it. It's not a romance but there are romantic elements in it. I won't lie this book will make you hurt, it will make you cry but it's an amazing read that you will be happy you read.
It's an epic tale of one man's journey and the way his life affected those around him and the way outside forces shaped him into who and what he is. Oren's story will fuck you up but man I loved it even during those parts where my heart did nothing but hurt, did nothing but bleed for these characters I still loved it. I definitely recommend it.

Don't be fooled this book is not beautiful but there are beautiful parts to it. It's not a romance but there are romantic elements in it. I won't lie this book will make you hurt, it will make you cry but it's an amazing read that you will be happy you read.
It's an epic tale of one man's journey and the way his life affected those around him and the way outside forces shaped him into who and what he is. Oren's story will fuck you up but man I loved it even during those parts where my heart did nothing but hurt, did nothing but bleed for these characters I still loved it. I definitely recommend it.

Respect is a book that I have been waiting for, Oren Demetri, was a man who ghosted the Infidelity series which his power and dominance. There was something about him that intrigued me every time he graced the pages, after all it’s not every day the hero’s father steals the spotlight even for a moment.
Respect is Oren’s story, how he made his way from nothing and into a man respected! Powerful, suspenseful, a mysterious epic love story of a man who wants it all, and willing to risk everything to get it. The making of man, is Oren’s reflection of his life, and it was every bit of Aleatha as it could get in the very best of ways. Truly a gem to treasure, for Oren is like fine wine, aged to perfection.
While this is part of the Infidelity series, it can be read as a stand-alone. His story is definitely one worth living, especially if you want to understand the man beneath the power and respect.

I have read everything that Aleatha Romig has published. Respect is one of the BEST BOOKS SHE HAS EVER WRITTEN. When I sat down to read Respect, it didn’t feel like I was reading a novel. It felt like I was sitting down watching a box office hit as Oren Demetri’s life played out in front of me. As the closing credits rolled, I had tears in my eyes. This book is everything!!! Respect held me captive the entire novel. Having read Aleatha’s other novels involving Nox Demetri, I had that Awwww moment with baby Lennox in his brand new blue outfit with a small white bow tie.
I absolutely loved the Costello and Demetri families and their multiple layers…..”when they’re in your heart, the blood doesn’t matter.” This book is going to stay in my heart for a long time.

Although Respect is a stand-alone novel but because I read the entire Infidelity series (not about cheating), it was like having all the delicious icing on the cake. Every time Aleatha Romig releases a book, I know I’m in for a treat. When you crack open one of her book, you know you are in for a thrilling, gripping rollercoaster ride of suspense punctuated by emotional punches. This author never ceases to amaze me with her unique storytelling, complex characters and intriguing plot! All I can say is “wow”!
Oren Demetri and Angelina Costello’s story was epic and poignant. Intense, gritty and deeply emotional it had me hooked from the start. I guarantee you won’t be able to put this book down. It is a spin-off of the Infidelity series, and tells the story of Lennox, “Nox”, Demetri’s parents.
Morals and loyalties are tested in this mafia romance. The sacrifices Oren is willing to make to earn the right to marry his Mafia princess are heartbreaking. Angelina is the niece of one of the most powerful men in Cosa Nostra. Legitimate business is Oren’s ambition and forte and yet loyalty to the Costello crime family is key to understanding this character. He has the family’s best interests in mind. Favors are called in, debts are honored and Oren is slowly losing his soul in the process. He isn’t immune, he experiences remorse and yet he is prepared to do whatever he can, at whatever personal cost, to ensure that his son is freed from family obligations and has choices.
Aleatha Romig knocked it out of the park with this riveting story! It is a definite keeper on my shelf! I highly recommend this book that can be read as a standalone if you have not read (yet) the Infidelity series.

Blown away. Where do I even begin?! First of all, Respect is my introduction to the Infidelity Series and now I finally know what I have been missing!! Wow! In my opinion, Respect is the perfect lead way into the series if you have not read it.

Aleatha Romig proves once again that she is in a league of her own with Respect! Her writing is impeccable and STELLAR. There is a sense of maturity and intellect within this book. There is no use of frivolous words or scenarios. Respect takes you into the world of the New York Mafia. A world I am very familiar with, being an Italian American born and raise New York.... I can honestly say, Aleatha did the lifestyle justice. She obviously did her homework. She got down and dirty and totally captured the essence of the mafia. Her depiction was spot on. She shows us, what it is all about family, loyalty, respect and sacrifice! She nailed the extreme violence and the unimaginable bond... She didn't romanticize it. Respect is more then a love story, it's about the making of the man, Oren Dimerti! When he fell in love with a mafia princess Angelina Costello, it sealed his fate. Everything he did was for his family and "The Family" and it ultimately cost him everything! Unfortunately Obligations come first and relationships suffer.... (You can not sell your soul to the devil and expect to come out unscathed.)

Wow just wow.
This is the first full book I 've read from this author and omg it was amazing. I was hooked from the time. The story was full of everything heartbreak betrayal love and respect. I 've not read the other books in this series so I was lil worried. But there was no need. You could read this as a standalone. I didn't feel like I was missing anything if anything it's made me want to read this series more.
Oren Demetri is a great character. Is he a perfect man no but he alway looked out for his family. Angelina meant the world to him. Even when times were bad she would alway be his Angel. From the first time he met her she had a good of him. That beautiful laugh caught his arte and that was it. Oren life want rosey she had to deal with the list of his parents at a young age. But he put himself through his education to make himself a better man and to make his parents proud.
Angelina is a beautiful woman. I really liked her character. She is such a strong woman she does what she wants even if her family aren't happy. Coming from a strong family Angelina had a life where woman knew there place and family meant everything. Her relationship with Oren Demetri was what she wanted he was the guy who alway got her attention. He wasn't the man her family would of chosen for her but happiness that was shown was hard to be denied.
Oren and Angelina's story was just brilliant. I felt so sorry for both characters they made such a great couple. They both went through so much apart and together. I luvd them. I would highly recommend this book. If you havent read anything from this author you should and this should be the book.

Well, she did it again! It amazes me how this author can write all-consuming books one right after the other. I absolutely love the Infidelity series and was so thrilled to hear that I was going to get to read Oren’s backstory. I actually secretly liked Oren throughout the series even though on the surface one would think he was a bad man. I’m so glad he had the opportunity to show his true self in Respect. In this book we get to see why he did the things he did and how he felt about the man he had become. I loved getting glimpses of Nox throughout this story. It makes me want to read the whole Infidelity series all over again. Anytime you pick up a book from Aleatha Romig you can’t go wrong, just hang on for the ride. I definitely recommend this book and the entire Infidelity series!

This is a spin off from the Infidelity series that can be read as a standalone. This is the story of Oren Demetri, the father of Nox.
Oren falls in love with Angelina Costello, niece to Carmine Costello, one of the most powerful men in the Cosa Nostra. He needs to prove his worth. He builds his company Demetri Enterprise from the ground up to become a successful businessman. Despite their illegal activity, these are men of honor and respect and their loyalty to family was unparallelled.
Oren starts off as such a swoon worthy man. His love for Angelina was a beautiful thing. He was driven to protect her above all things, especially because of the world they live in.
I will say that I was a bit disappointed because there was not much romance in this book after about 30-40%. I also became less a fan of Oren as the book progressed. I realized after a while that Oren was never going to be the top alpha. His role was Angelina's husband and he had to submit to Carmine and the other top bosses. I guess I'm not a fan of my heroes being the submissive. Also by the end of the book, Owen is not that great a husband and father.
Fair warning! This is not a HEA. I did not read the Infidelity series and so that's probably why I was not expecting that ending and it kind of threw me off. If you love mafia romances then this book is for you. Just know that that it is light on the romance and the ending is a bit depressing. The first line of this blurb accurately describes what this book is about. The making of a man.This is not a great love story. This is not a happily ever after fairytale. This is about Oren's journey to prove himself a man of worth and gain respect.

Brillant, magnificent and masterfully written book.
Aleatha Romig is one of the most talented authors and her work is exquisite and marvelous.
With this book she managed to surprise me once again with how much thought and emotion seems to have been put in all from the research for it till the very last sentence written.
There is so much to say but than this review would never end but one thing is sure.
I have the utter most Respect for this book and its author.
Respect is a standalone novel but belongs in Infidelity world and even if it can be read on its own I highly recommend you to read the 5 book series because there we meet Oren for the first time but he remains an enigma until now.
This book where we get to go way back in time and see the world through Oren’s eyes and learn more about who he was before and how he got to the point where he is today.
No words are enough to describe how well written this book is and how it is filled with quality.
I loved it, every word, every sentence, every chapter and each page.
Oren’s story made me feel so many emotions I was almost exploding with all the feelings that were overcoming me. The last few chapters broke me no matter how much I fought to remain strong.
But I don’t regret a single tear I shed for it, it was all worth the pain and heartbreak.
All of the characters in this book deserve to be mentioned and honored because they were all part of the bigger picture and made this book amazing.
Oren and Angelina’s relationship was so special and loving to read about.
Those two belong at the top of best, the king and his Queen!
Don’t miss out on pure quality read because that and more is what this book offers.

This is just one of those books you have to read for yourself to appreciate the absolute mastery at work here. You only get glimpses of Oren in the Infidelity series, nothing can prepare you for his life's story. The love he felt for his wife and family, but being in that family means you have certain obligations whether you want them or not.

Well we all wanted a book about Oren Demetri and we sure got one!
After finishing the Infidelity series I was intrigued by the Costello’s, Respect brought everyone together in an epic tale.
This book is pre Infidelity so can be read as a stand alone but those who have read the Infidelity series will be familiar with some characters.
Oren Demetri, just saying his name makes my heart flutter, meets Angelina Costello at university, as the niece of the Boss of the Costello family Carmine Costello marrying Angelina unites him to the Mafia family of New York.
Trust, honour and respect needs to be proved and earned, in doing this Oren finds himself making Sacrifices, some for the good of his family and some that rock everything he loves.
This book is so good, I finished in tears, buy plenty of tissues.
In typical Aleatha style every book you read of hers leaves you wanting more, although I know Orens future I could read about him forever.

Audiobook Review: 5 Stars
"Oren Demetri is simply amazing!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Respect to be better than the print version?
I wouldn't say better, I'd say the audiobook improved the experience of reading Respect. Brian Pallino's performance was perfect. His voice, inflections, accents, emotions were the best for Oren's book and I'm so happy I decided to listen to it, it made me love it more.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Oren of course. This book had a better part of his life, his big love, his ambition, his desire to always belong, his fears, his pride, his pain, his tears. His EVERYTHING. There were moments when I wasn't happy with him— I guess I share more than just the name with Angelina, his wife —I was frustrated with some of his decisions but I understand he didn't have many choices, considering. Despite I knew his "present" from the Infidelity Series , I was worried I wasn't going to be able to love him as much as I already did in the series, but I was wrong. His relationship with his wife wasn't perfect, but he really loved her, and she loved him and their choices and sacrifices, despite they did have consequences, they were what molded their lives, their family and in the end, what made me love more Oren and Angelina.
Which character—as performed by Brian Pallino—was your favorite?
Brian's performance was amazing. His voice was strong and commanding, perfect for Oren, but I really loved his accent and inflection for Angelina. He did a really great job.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was surprised with how much the mafia business influenced Oren's life, personally, professionally, as a husband and as a father. I was also surprised me with Oren and Charli's father encounter, even though I already knew about it. I was even more surprised about Oren's feelings when Lennox was born. It was beautiful and heart warming. But the most extreme reaction in Respect, one that was waiting for thanks to my dear friend and blogger partner, Jennifer, was crying at some point in the story, and Oh Boy Did I Cried!!

Respect was a great addition to the Infidelity Series. Despite this book is completely STANDALONE, I recommend to read the Infidelity Series, in order to love / hate / love more intensely Oren Demetri and his story.

The Infidelity series is not about cheating (if cheating books bother you). Respect is a true standalone. It can be read on its own or after reading the Infidelity series. If you didn’t read the Infidelity series, you will be one-clicking it after reading Respect.

I started reading and was captivated from the beginning. I read the book in one sitting, I couldn´t put it down. I had to know what happens to the characters. Oren isn´t a bad guy and he isn´t a good guy either. He´s just a man who has tried. His character deeply impressed me and I really, really wished for another HEA. But I´m happy he got kind of one. Reading Respect my heart was bleeding for some of the characters, other made me angry or sad.

I gave up around 50% mark. I am a romance reader, and this had very little romance. Yes, i felt the love, but this balance of mafia/romance was too one sided. This is really all about Oren and his climb up the mafia ladder. This one is just not for me.

I will admit that though I have read several books by Aleatha Romig I have not read the Infidelity Series, yet! That being said I never felt lost while reading this book and after reading this it has me wanting to push it to the top of my ever growing TBR.
The love that Oren and Angelina had is that once in a lifetime kind of love and I enjoyed every minute of watching them grow together, get married, and start a family.
This story is truly a standalone within the Infidelity series but as I mentioned earlier if you haven't read the series that started it all you will once you read this amazing read. Please be aware that you will need tissues while reading Oren and Angelina's story, while this book isn't as steamy as some of the other books Ms. Romig has written it does hit you in the gut with events that take place towards the end.

I am in constant awe of Aleatha’s writing, whether it is her darker, suspenseful side or her lighter side, Aleatha has a way with her writing that keeps you wanting more. Nothing is ever repeated or confusing about her characters or her storyline, she is just one of those writers who puts it all out there for the world to devour and to me that is what makes her a great author.
I have read every book that Aleatha has written and I will continue to do so as to me she is just amazing at what she does.
I was so excited to receive Respect as an ARC. I read the Infidelity Series and was intrigued to learn more about Oren Demetri, his lift, his feelings, thoughts, wishes, I wanted to know so much more about the man and that is what we got. We got Oren warts and all.
Oren, was a working class man, he wanted to work for his money. To provide for his family and to be respected by others.
He met his lovely wife Angelina Costello at University, Angelina is a strong willed woman who also happens to be the niece of a Don so by marrying her Oren knew that it was the family he married into and in doing so had to win the Respect of her family. “Respect is what defines a true man.” Marrying into the Costello family means “Blood in. Blood out.”
What I found fascinating was you got a more in-depth knowledge and insight into the Costello family, their dealings and demands on all members of the family and how Oren was treated and used as well as respected by them. “Family was comprised of those people who made you who you were, who supported you, and stood beside you when others turned away.”
From early on in this book you see that Oren is more complex than I thought in the Infidelity books, he has many layers and strives to do the best for his son (Nox) and Angelina his wife and yes sometimes that means going out of the white lines and making them grey but family always came first and providing for them was a No.1 issue for Oren.
This truly is a read that will grip you from chapter 1 and have you at times in tears (well maybe just me) there are some really heartfelt moments but there is also some grit. It is not a lovey dovey romance, it is so much more, it is a complex, gripping and a powerful story of man wanting to do the best for his family by any means he can.
I would highly recommend this story to everyone. 5 Star Read

This book is aptly titled, as a man struggles to build an empire to protect the woman he loves, and earn the respect of her and her family, who just so happens to have mob ties.
I will start off by saying this book is nothing like I expected. If you read the Infidelity series, you already know about Oren Demetri, Lennox father. And while that series was full of suspense and twists at every turn, this story fills in the holes of what we already know. We know how Oren and Angelina's love story ends, but the author details their time together, full of highs and lows.
Oren and Angelina's path was an interesting one. It surprised me how much he initially feared her family, and was quite upfront about it. And once he committed to sharing a life with her, he did everything in his power to ensure her life was protected at all costs. Some of that was to his detriment. Empires don't appear overnight, and even when success is achieved, maintaining that empire is a daily job. So, while Oren put countless hours to secure a good future for his wife and give her more than she needed, each hour was one less spent with her. And that couldn't be fixed with flowers or lavish gifts.
The story had a tragic feel to it. Again, if you've read the Infidelity series, you know how Oren and Angelina's story ends. Surprisingly, I didn't feel the story had an abundance of angst. The decline was gradual and not out of left field. The author surprising keep the characters mature and respectful throughout. The love never died. Just the passion.
"A man like me rarely shared his heart, but when he did, it was forever."
I left this story with respect for both characters, and maybe that was the goal all along.

OK, readers and potential readers, here goes my best effort to articulate my feelings about this book. Respect is not a novel you read in between chores, on the train, in the car waiting for the kids to be liberated from school, or in the doctor's office. I mean, you can try, but you won't.
No. You sit down with Oren Demetri and you damn well STAY there, ass in chair (or couch or bed) until the author releases you at the end of the book after a tornado of emotions—emotions that run the gamut and make you gulp for air and wipe your runny nose with the back of your hand. No spoilers here but a word of advice: keep tissues on hand, maybe a glass of wine or hot tea if you're not a drinker, and fuzzy socks.
Respect is a tour de force, an amazing love story set amid New York mafia families and spans about thirty years (from 80s till contemporary). It is exquisitely written, fascinating, exciting, suspenseful, happy, gut-wrenchingly sad, and just brilliant in so many ways. There are so many lines and turns of phrase that I wish I had myself written (my greatest compliment to an author) that I lost count.
One thing I can promise you: by book's end, you won't feel as if Oren is a favorite book character: you'll feel as if he is one of your family members or best friend. Though imperfect, he worms his way into your heart where, like it or not, he will remain for days and weeks to come. I guarantee it.
Aleatha Romig is a wonderfully versatile author. We know she can do dark romance (boy, can she); we know she can do light; she can also do thrillers; and now we know she can do it all. Respect is what she deserves and now we can have it too.

Mafia Love Story at it's finest!
I couldn't wait to read Respect, for Oren is one of my favorite characters of the Infidelity series. You don't have to have read the Infidelity series to read Respect, it is a stand-alone. But after you read Respect you may want to do so I'm sure.
Oren is a self-made man. He doesn't know the word failure. He is so dedicated to whatever he sets his mind on doing. Same with his love for Angelina. He loves her with his whole heart, with everything he has. She is his driving force. He only works harder to provide her a life he feels she deserves. Both being Italian they are both strong-willed and passionate. This Love Story will be one of your favorites. There are times that will melt your heart, times that will break your heart. But to walk with Oren and Angelina through their lives, through the good, through the bad was such an eye-opener for me. They loved each other so fiercely. Family was everything to them, respect. When I finish this book last night I sat holding my Kindle, tears were falling on the surface of the glass, thinking to myself this was a freaking masterpiece. I was so moved that I cried myself to sleep reliving this beautiful but painful love story of Oren and Angelina in my mind. This will be a book I will never forget.
Thanks again Aleatha for a story my heart will never get over. Bowing to the queen!

Life is full of tradeoffs. You want something, you have to consider what it will cost you, and not necessarily in monetary value. Some tradeoffs will affect your future, your independence, and your ability to exercise your own will and control.
Respect means a lot of different things depending on who is defining this word. In the Cosa Nostra, it means obeying the leader of your family, sacrificing your life for the family, and prioritizing family needs over your loved ones. And by family, I mean the members that compose the nuclei of the family.
This is Oren Demetri's story. While in college, he fell in love with Angelina Costello. He knew there would be consequences to falling for a Costello, especially since Angelina was raised by her uncle Carmine who was the leader of the Costello family. His love for Angelina was so strong, he was willing to sacrifice just to be able to marry and love her. Tradeoffs... the sacrifices sometimes interfere with the plans you had when you accepted the tradeoff in order to have the woman you love.
This is a heartfelt, intimate, and endearing look at a love that endured and somewhere along the way was bruised by the daily pressures. Be prepared with tissues... I am not a crier and I was in tears.

Beautiful.....
As I sit here and dry my eyes on one of the best books I’ve ever read.... i am speechless... in awe.. absolutely in love with what I just read. I feel cheated, I haven’t read The Infidelity Series and I am truly sitting here asking myself why. I had no clue... none at all.
The author’s writing is phenomenal, it’s flawless. Every thing about this book is beautiful and so much more than I even know how to put into words. These characters broke me. I love how the book spanned over a lifetime actually I loved everything about this. Now I have to go and read the series.. I just have to. Respect is everything you want..... everything!
