This work is a collection of non-fiction stories of animal attack and human survival. Animals encountered include: tigers, leopards, great white sharks, and elephants.
I’m honestly not sure what I was expecting from this book that I picked up secondhand for a few cents but I enjoy most things involving animals, especially exotics and this was very entertaining, shocking, detailed, and several times I caught myself reading with my jaw dropped open. The first story alone had me shocked at the detail and realizing what this book was going to be like and slightly uncomfortable even though I was safe in my own bed. It was a quick read and quite the page turner. I enjoyed the mix of different species. This book made me realize I want nothing to do with leopards, and if you’re going to be out walking anywhere with wild large cats or bears for the love please have a gun, know how to use it, and use it well.
Interesting stories will have you shaking your head in disbelief at the insanity of some people! A lot of the deadly encounters happen simply because people ignore warnings - either posted, or warnings the animal itself gives. Crazy!
I guess it was worth the $0.85 I paid for it. The accounts were either about unlucky people or white hunters saving a bunch of villagers in the colonial era.
