C.C. Ekeke is a native of California by way of Georgia by way of Missouri, spending much of his childhood on a steady diet of science fiction movies and television shows, as well as superhero comic books. It was in college studying for a degree in advertising that he stumbled across a desire to write books.
STAR BRIGADE: Resurgent, his debut novel, was originally self-published in December 2005. This re-release marks the second edition of the book. He’s currently at work on the next books in the Star Brigade series.
The rating is not for the quality of the material: some is very good; some is okay. You may notice that I am not using the term "stories" as you may find in the publisher's description and some of the other reviews.
Think of these more like movie "trailers" because few can really stand on their own. They might be a chapter in a larger work or a snippet in some bigger "space opera." Or perhaps, the author is just trying out a shift in his/her focus. Take "Bloodbag Suppressors," one of the better pieces. It is an intriguing military sci-fi vignette describing a universe where humans and vampires have found it necessary to ally against an alien threat. Justin Sloan has yet (as far as I can determine) to put anything out that expands on this idea.
So if you are intrigued by the title or the price, be warned. There is a lot missing from this package.

Summary:
Received for an honest review.
This book was filled with stories that took the reader on adventures through space and time experiencing many of the possibilities that could happen in outer space. From a child's view of the universe that might not be what you expect to a fight between different worlds s they struggle to survive this book has it all. There are even previews to books by different authors. If you are looking for a short sci-fi story read this book is for you.
With the exception of Jay Allan's story, most of these were just ok. One story was basically unreadable because of lack of editing. If you are going to produce an anthology, it needs more than one (in my opinion) strong story back filled with mediocrity. Sorry so harsh but after the Jay Allen story I went back and re-read others and my critique stands. Maybe the next one will be stronger.
Very nice collection! I particularly liked "The Embrose Contract" by CC Ekeke, "The Trenches of Centauri Prime" by Craig Martelle, "Planetstrider" by Chris Fox, "Tombstone" by Jay Allan, and "Last Survivors" by Michael G Thomas. A number of the other stories were rather dark or sad. I like upbeat endings best.
