A number of years ago I worked with a life coach. Her name was Tracy and we met when she gave a presentation at my church. I adored working with her. She was caring and compass and called me on my bullshit. A few years ago she passed away from ovarian cancer. There are days I wish I could pick up the phone to hear what she has to say because I need her wisdom, her assurance, her fearless and fierce belief that things are simple, we just tend to complicate them.

I found Gordana on Twitter (or maybe she found me) and that’s how I discovered this book. And while it is all Gordana’s work, it was like I found a touchstone to connect with my dear Tracy. I could hear her speaking to me. And it was powerful and empowering and calming and electric.

This book is awesome.

My favorite parts:
“Nothing needs to be found. I do not need to become anything. I already am. All I have to do is find my way of expressing what I am.”

“Fulfilling your life purpose by exploring your desires is not a part-time thing or a hobby you do if time permits. It is your life. Own it.”

“You are perfect as you are. Stop fixing yourself. Just figure out what you love to do and concentrate on doing more of that. When you focus entirely on your strengths, the rest magically takes care of itself because where attention goes, energy flows.”

“Conformity kills creativity.
Stay curious. Ask questions.
Be yourself. Stand courageous!
Play! Enjoy! Laugh more.”

“Be intensely yourself.
Do not compare yourself with others.
Don’t do it just for the success,
do it for the JOY of it!”

“Stay brave.
Ask questions.
Be creative.”

I stumbled across Gordana on Twitter and was instantly attracted to her words and wisdom found in her tweets. Her words speak to my heart as she just makes total sense which are both comforting and grounding. I loved that this book is an extension of her tweets with more explanation behind them. I will be dipping in and out of her beautiful book many times I'm sure.

I came across Gordana Biernat on twitter, and her tweets really resonated so I bought her book in the print format. I love it's luxurious feel. It's a thing of quality - as are its contents.

I hadn't heard of Gordana before coming across her on twitter. Her main selling angle is that she is one of Oprah Winfrey's Supersoul 100 teachers. And a quick glance round the internet tells me that twitter is her main outlet. She does talks and interviews on other people's sites, but everything redirects to her twitter feed. It's where she posts most of her thoughts and knowledge.

And the book #KnowTheTruth is structured from the tweets. She has used them to guide the topics she then discusses more in depth. There are 231 tweets she elaborates on, and you can choose to just dip into this book or read it cover to cover as I did.

I felt there was progression through the book on the topics, so you could understand each stage and grow to the next one, so for me cover to cover worked best, but it is also a book that I will dip into time and again to refresh my thinking or to understand something again, or maybe look at it from another perspective.

It follows the truth about ourselves in terms of how powerful and limitless we really our, and how our thinking and conformity to social constructs restricts us. It holds answers to how you can free yourself mentally - and spiritually - and create a life you want to create, big or small. And it teaches how to appreciate all the tiny things and how to live in the moment.

It is tough to describe as I feel my description only skims the surface of the depths that it reaches. There is so much to think about and ponder and process.

I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to connect with themselves and within themselves. This book enables you to understand, in relatively simple terms, how to go about doing that.

This is not a book to be rushed, but to be savoured.

The author does a good job breaking down into small chunks how you can take more control of your life through the way you view the world and your part in it. The goal is to get you to stop worrying about the past and the future and concentrate more on NOW. I learned a lot and feel more at ease with things I can't control.

This was a quick read - and similar message to other books. A good reminder about how your thoughts set your mood and frequency, and being true to your inner self. It was ok read - just not any really new thoughts from my perspective.

This book is the definition of teaching yourself about self-love. How to put your past aside and your demons to rest. It’s the here and now that matters, hence I invite you to discover your truth by reading this book.

I follow Gordana Biernat on social media and find her posts very meaningful and uplifting. She mentions that this book has origins in her posts. Her husband printed a set of her tweets and she saw how they could be interlinked. I loved this book; it is filled with positivity and is very self-affirming.

This book has 231 concepts or key messages followed by a paragraph or more of explanations & examples. I found many of them to have strong linkages to Indian philosophy / Vedanta (especially her view of consciousness which she refers to as ‘All that is’). The themes are nevertheless very universal and borrow from wisdom from multiple philosophical traditions and especially her own experiences. She had a troubled childhood herself and through experiences learnt how to find purpose, love & happiness in life. A few of the passages on consciousness felt a little wordy/twisted, but the book is largely written in simple and relatable language. This can be regarded as a guidebook to finding yourself; being - self-assured, balanced, curious, happy; living life centred in love and giving to others; and making each moment meaningful.

While I knew I would not find much new material conceptually, having read/attended many mindfulness books/courses, I loved how this was written in simple language with impactful short passages. A few good passages are below (there are lots more in the book).

If you want to make this world a better place, you need to explore who you are and what YOU love. It is important because no one else can give the rest of the world the same thing as you. You are unique. Fulfilling your life purpose by exploring your desires is not a part-time thing or a hobby you do if time permits. It is your life. Own it.

You are perfect as you are. Stop fixing yourself. Just figure out what you love to do and concentrate on doing more of that. When you focus entirely on your strengths, the rest magically takes care of itself because where attention goes, energy flows.

The underlying belief that feeds the fear of rejection is the conviction that other people’s opinions are more valuable than your own. The externalization of power occurs in the false but very common assumption that what others think and feel matters more than your own thoughts and feelings.

If you want to spend time with the truly enlightened ones, go to a park, sit under a tree and watch the children play. Just by observing them we can be inspired to remember who we truly are and why we are here.

Since we take it for granted that ‘you can’t change the past’, we simply see no other option than to ‘drag it along’ with us into the future, thus solidly rooting all our present NOW-moments into the status quo of our past or into the uncertainty of our future.

My rating: 4.75 / 5.

I have read this book from front to back in just a couple of days. I related so much to everything Gordana writes about, and this book resonated with me like no other book I have read. I felt as though someone finally understood me, knew who I ultimately am without ever meeting me. I do believe we are all connected in "All That Is" with love being the source of us all.
I continue to read this book by randomly opening it when I need a message from the universe to focus on for that moment. Synchronistically, it is alway spot on for me.
I recommend this book to everyone. We all have the answers to the questions we hold in our lives. Loving and taking care of our self in mind, body, and spirit is the most important thing we can do.
Gordana is a blessing for those she comes in contact with via her book, or her writing on social media. I truly believe Gordana saves lives with all of her writings, and is a beacon of light for all of us all over the world. If you haven't followed her on twitter, you definitely should @MyPowertalk. I look to her daily writings as a reminder and inspiration.

Now i become more responsible for my own thoughts. Love yourself first then Life is lived. And you feel more controlled. We can control outside world or people around you. Love you Gordana.
