Two fan-favorite stories about overcoming first impressions
Boundary Lines A feud between two Montana families, the Barons and the Murdocks, has been simmering for years. Jillian Baron, who has recently inherited her family's ranch, sees no reason not to continue the grudge, especially where the arrogant Aaron Murdock is concerned. But when the pair is threatened by a common enemy, Jillian and Aaron become uneasy allies. As they are forced to work in close quarters, they must decide what is more important--generations of mistrust or an unexpected passion neither is able to deny...
The Right Path While on vacation in Greece, the last thing Morgan James expects is to be set upon by a knife-wielding stranger. Much to her embarrassment, her nighttime walk has accidentally brought her to the private estate of Nicholas Gregoras, a Greek tycoon, and Morgan is trespassing. She's even more surprised when he turns his smoldering gaze her way. Morgan doesn't know if the smooth-talking playboy can be trusted, but soon his stolen kisses have her throwing her inhibitions to the wind.
Nora Roberts is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of more than 200 novels, including Hideaway, Under Currents, Come Sundown, The Awakening, Legacy, and coming in November 2021 -- The Becoming -- the second book in The Dragon Heart Legacy. She is also the author of the futuristic suspense In Death series written under the pen name J.D. Robb. There are more than 500 million copies of her books in print.
I love Nora's writing style. Gosh, totally lost count as to how many I have read. She is just a genius and makes it look so easy to write a wild genre of books??! she is always giving us a new read. from Christmas, to mysteries, always such fun and love her reads. Totally had to read it due to the sunflowers on the front. I am such a sucker for great gorgeous flowers. This book includes "Boundary Lines" and " The Right Path". I think it is easy when u have 2 books in one ...you just have to pick a fave... mine is "The Right Path". I have always wanted to travel to Greece. travel any where new 2 me ..would be great in my book. Nothing saying I didn't enjoy the other read, but i sort of connected more with this one. I love Montana, would love to live there ...but it makes me think of the Hatfields and McCoys ...feuds are nuts!!! why do we get this way ... do all families do this? i know there are some in my family. i remember asking my Mom as a kid ...why this relative wouldn't shake this others hand ...it was over a burial plot ...yep .. nuts, huh???! ridiculous! so dumb. come on folks ...why fight ...agree to disagree and move on!
The first story I would give full stars. It is a perfect love story of family disputes turned allies and while I figured out what happened it wasnt until it was shortly revealed. The language was beautiful. As for The Right Path it was good and ok but I would give it three stars. I did not like how you were meant to think one thing but it was really the other. It wasnt played off well enough to not see through it. I knew what was really going on a majority of the time. I also did not like how Morgan was treated by Nick.
This book included 2 short novels. One of which (Boundary Lines), I’d read before. As I was reading it, it seemed very familiar, but I didn’t remember the ending. My impression of this book was much as I’d commented before that I was disappointed with the book as the sex between the main 2 characters was very detailed which seemed unnecessary to me. The story line of this Montana ranchers’ story is somewhat like West Side Story with 2 feuding families who own ranches next to each other. Despite the predictability of the story direction, and because Nora Roberts is a good storyteller and it’s an easy & fast read, I’d rate this as a 3.
The other novel (The Right Path) was similarly overkill on the sexual attraction. I’d also rate it as a 3. It takes place in Greece while Morgan James is vacationing, visiting a friend of hers who married a well-to-do Greek man. Through a rather strange event, she meets and is very attracted to a Greek tycoon, but tries to resist the attraction. Mostly very predictable.
I have to be honest, I couldn't finish this book. I only recently started reading romance novels, so it was kind of a shock to read an older novel that glorified sexual harassment. I can't believe that they republished this in 2018. The male leads consistently overstepped boundaries, ignored women's stated desires, and were generally creepy. I'm pretty sure that if the stories were written today, they would be the villains. But it was portrayed as romantic. I wanted to burn the book, but settled for throwing it in the recycling bin.
I haven't read the second story, only the first one with Aaron and Jillian but admired the intimacy between the two characters, I only wish they would've had their own book. This is my first Nora Robert's book besides her Romantic Suspense series and absolutely adored it more than the previous books. Although short (242 pages), I still felt every moment and gesture between the characters and would highly suggest this for anyone looking for a good but short romance story.
I only read the first novella entitled: boundary line.
It’s a cute feel good story about second generation ranchers inheriting their family ranch while also having decades long family feuds. Enemies to lovers. Cattle go missing as someone is rustling prized beef off one of the ranches. Everything is wrapped up nice and tidy at the end.
If you need a quick read without a lot of emotional damage, this is for you.
I listened to Boundary Lines and finished it. The overall story was good, but the main characters were annoying! The love scenes were too much; the man was a brute and the woman had no idea what she wanted. I was annoyed throughout. Glad Nora Roberts has grown as a writer...or I just need to stay away from her romance novels!
Boundary lines was good. I love when Nora Roberts writes about Montana and Wyoming. I loved the characters and the story line in this book. The second one, however. No thanks. Didn’t care for it at all. The only I liked about the book was that it was set in Greece. Didn’t like the characters at all. Bleh.
I have read a lot of Nora Roberts books and this one I found very disappointing. The theme for both stories seemed like they were condoning rape and abuse. Passion was the women saying no and the man forcing himself on her. Maybe it’s the 2020 opinion of it but they weren’t my favourite reads.
I really liked Boundary Lines. It was my favorite of the two stories. The setting of ranches in the west was more my style. The Right Path carried on and felt very unrealistic to me. I know they are fiction but to many parts seemed ridiculous. Four Stars forBoundary Lines
