Malcolm Gray is Lauren Emerson’s biggest regret. Eight years ago, a breakdown of trust cost her a beautiful future with the most charming man she’d ever met. Now a career-making opportunity brings the nutrition entrepreneur home, where she hopes to declare a truce with her ex-love, the star running back of the Los Angeles Cobras. But their first encounter unleashes explosive passion…and unwanted memories of the precious dreams they once shared.
Malcolm can’t forgive Lauren for her betrayal after they had pledged their eternal devotion. But her play-stopping curves alone are a turn-on he can’t resist. He knows he’ll never get over her—nor does he want to… Is their love worth a second chance? Or is he risking heartbreak again? As they jockey for position, a new set of rules could change the game for both of them.
Sheryl Lister has enjoyed reading and writing for as long as she can remember. She writes contemporary and inspirational romance and romantic suspense. She been nominated for an Emma Award and RT Reviewer’s Choice Award and named BRAB’s 2015 Best New Author. When she’s not reading, writing or playing chauffeur, Sheryl can be found on a date with her husband or in the kitchen creating appetizers and bite-sized desserts.
I love this series about the Gray siblings and the conflicts they face on their journeys to true love. I would have loved to have seen Malcolm's face when they announced Lauren Emerson's name as the new nutritionist for Malcolm's football team. She broke his heart 8 years ago and he is too through with her! Even more interesting is Malcolm's twin sister, Morgan's, reaction to the news. She threatened to punch Lauren's lights out the last time for hurting Malcolm. Maybe she will be a little more forgiving this go round!
I liked the couple in this, but I suspect if I had read the entire extended familial series, I wouldn't like it so well. The odds of professional athletes ending up playing at home and having their entire family at home seem not great to me (it happens! I just can't think of that many examples of it.) I also find it mildly implausible that there wouldn't be a no fraternization rule for the team's nutritionist and athletes, especially given what we now know about standards for cheerleaders.
Still, grown ups being grown ups! This is decidedly my jam. Will definitely read the author again.
Time can often heal or remind you never to give up
Malcolm and Lauren's story is one of needed forgiveness. It was the only way to let go of the past and move on to the present. What Sheryl was able to capture in "Still Loving You" , was the heart that makes love worth fighting for. Malcolm and Lauren needed to reconcile their own internal struggles to be able to mend their relationship. You feel the attraction on the page, but more so you feel better knowing that it took work to get them to the next step.
What's even more endearing was seeing how Malcolm's family played a huge part in him recognizing his feelings. One of my favor parts was the advice Father Gray gave to Malcolm about women. It was the turning point needed that allowed Malcolm to reflect on his past and future decisions regarding Lauren.
Lauren had a great friend in Valencia because she supported and listened to her. You felt the genuine bond they had. Sometimes you need a good friend to hold you up and to hold you accountable. Valencia was that for Lauren.
The backdrop of the football league was nicely woven into the story and provided the context needed to get Malcolm and Lauren back together.
Time heals all wounds.. I loved the story of Malcolm and Lauren. Malcolm star player for the Cobras fotball team and the last of Gray family thats single. Lauren his college sweetheart who let her insecurities tear them apart. Lauren who has been hired as a nutrionist for the Cobras dreads been reunited with her college love. Will it be a reunion of love or will it be heartbreak. Read this page turner to find out.
How do you renegotiate dis-trust after eight years? Malcolm and Lauren have to try for more reasons than one. Ms Lister doesn't make it easy pride, jealousy stand between then and their goal. Who will win this game or will it be a tie?
Malcolm Gray is at the top of his game and is the last unmarried Gray standing. He is not expecting to encounter much less have to work with the one woman who broke his heart eight years ago. Lauren Emerson returns to Los Angeles for an opportunity to work in a male-dominated feel and wonders how she will cope working alongside her true love Malcolm.
To say these two have strong chemistry is an understatement. Ms. Lister, did a great job with character development and readers will feel the pull between these two and how much each fights the attraction. Malcolm is still afraid to trust and Lauren fears that the relationship will not survive if past hurts are not forgiven. Each wants a chance a happiness but are hesitant to go the extra and put their heart on the line. Misunderstandings and past issues arise but a true love story unfolds through these pages. Readers will get flutters reading this story especially with the special “card game” between Malcolm and Lauren. Truly, enjoyed this story as well as the series. Malcolm and Lauren’s journey was my favorite. Hats off to Ms. Lister for crafting an enjoyable series.
Home flames still burning…Malcolm Gray is Lauren Emerson’s biggest regret. Eight years ago, a breakdown of trust and listening to her girlfriends cost her a beautiful future with the most charming man she’d ever met. Now a career-making opportunity brings the (nutrition entrepreneur) home, where she hopes to declare a truce with her ex-love, the (star running back) of the Los Angeles Cobras the team she now works with. This series has been informative about many careers, philanthropy, as well as chivalry. A great read I am glad I purchased and plan to hang on to.
Another great read by Ms. Lister. No spoilers here, but Malcolm had me worried for a minute when he and Lauren was dancing at the dinner, and he was nice to her. I thought he wasn’t going to be but turns out he truly was, and Lauren had her doubts but I guess he “kissed” them away…lol (you have to read about the kissing…love that!). Even though they had been apart for so long, the chemistry between them was still there. I like the fact that Lauren was a nutritionist for the team Malcolm work for, so he had to see her. I can’t give away anymore. This is a must read and you will enjoy it. Great job Ms. Lister again, kudos!
Malcolm and Lauren are still so much in love just as the title says. Love always prevails in the end.
After a misunderstanding Lauren and Malcolm walk away from each for 8 years.
Lauren lands a job with the Cobras NFL team that Malcolm plays for as a Nutritionist. Even though Lauren does not want to admit she excepts the job not only wanting to be near her family but to be near Malcolm.
Wonderfully written love story as usually by Sheryl Lister.
My introduction to Sheryl Lister was with book 1 of the Grays of LA and I have been hooked since. So to see the series come to and was bittersweet. I was glad to read such a wonderful story about second chance love but sad to see the end of these great characters. Hopefully we can see them again since we were introduced to the Sacramento cousins. Prayers going up to the writing gods that Sheryl Listers creates a Hunters of Sacramento series!
This was a wonderful read! I thoroughly enjoyed the relationships between the siblings, their parents and their spouses. The author wove such a great story of rekindled love and new beginnings. The idea of the new transitional housing unit is an amazing idea that hopefully is actually happening somewhere in America. Love this family and hope to read about the cousins in other books.
This story was really good. It held my attention from beginning to end. I love a series book that catches you up on the happenings of the rest of the family. If you are family with the series you would have grown to love Malcolm since book one. It’s nice to see his character develop and fall in love. Sheryl List is a great writer and you can see the growth in her writing from book one until now. Looking forward to seeing what next from The Drake clan.
Another great read. I love the Grays of Los Angeles and Malcolm does not disappoint. Lauren and Malcolm still have mad love for each other even after 8 years passing. The chemistry will have you on the edge of your seat from the start. Malcolm is a sweetheart and Lauren is a doll. I hope this is not the end of the Gray's and I hope Marcus gets a story.
Malcolm and Lauren proved second chances are well worth fighting for. Great to revisit the Gray siblings and get caught up on their lives am loves. This book brings both love and drama. Absolutely loved this book. Great characters and the series is well worth a reread.
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Malcom and Lauren are good together. It took them eight years to realized their love was true. This was a great romance. I recommend this book and look forward to the Sheryl Lister’s next book. Perhaps we’ll read about the Gray’s cousins next.
Second chance Love stories are becoming my favorite theme. Broken trust is what ended the relationship the first time and both Malcolm and Lauren have to learn to trust again. I always enjoy how the Author provides updates on the rest of the siblings and their families. This is a great end to the series. I recommend reading the series from start to finish.
I appreciated the approach taken where the usual sour and push pull was erased, and replaced with what happens when the decision to get together falls apart.
Once again a great story with a supporting cast that doesn’t get in the way. Malcolm and Lauren’s story is bitter sweet, until it works out for them.
Last story in the Gray Siblings. Football star Malcolm Gray ends up having to work with his college sweetheart Lauren Emmerson, who gets a job as a nutritionist for the team Malcolm plays for. As always, I love the togetherness of the siblings, and how they and their spouses interact with each other, as well as Lauren. I am excited to read the cousin's stories.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Every story was unique and multifaceted. I loved Malcolm and Lauren. Even though it seemed negative, they needed that time to mature and grow as individuals so that their love could be unbreakable.
Another outstanding love story by Sheryl Lister! It's a story about how a mistake can end a relationship, but how love can survive that mistake over 8 years.
