The Bad Boy In Cuffs

It's not the danger that scares me. It's Lucas thinking he's not good enough for me.
Bad boy, Lucas returns in The Bad Boy In Cuffs, a gripping tale of danger and intrigue as a dangerous man and the woman he loves, struggle to overcome a past that keeps finding its way to the future!
The eagerly anticipated 3rd book in the Dangerous Desire series by international, award-winning erotic romance author Lexxie Couper is now available! Falling in love with a bad boy, a dangerous bad boy with dangerous skeletons in his closet, was never part of my plan, but I wouldn't change a thing now it's happened.
All I've got to do is convince Lucas I don't need to be wrapped up in cotton wool.
Not an easy task. Especially when a shadow from his past catches up with us.
And threatens to consume us both...

Lexxie’s not a deviant. She just has a deviant’s imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get darkly erotic romances with a twist of horror, sci-fi and the paranormal.

When she’s not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie’s life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she’s insane, a indoor cat who likes to stalk shadows, two yabbies hell-bent on destroying their tank and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever.

Having no idea how old she really is, Lexxie decided to go with 27 and has been that age for quite some time now. It's the best of both worlds - old enough to act mature, young enough to be silly.

And silly she can be. Just ask her husband who frequently has to endure her bursting into song whenever the mood strikes her, feeling him up in public (one of her favorite pastimes), or rolling around in the sand with their dog - a large mutt of dubious origins who causes almost as much havoc around the neighborhood as Lexxie herself. Or squealing her way down the slide at the local park with her daughter!

Lexxie lives by two simple rules - measure your success not by how much money you have, but by how often you laugh, and always try everything at least once. As a consequence, she's laughed her way through many an eyebrow raising adventure.

Lexxie Couper knows how to write an erotic romance story and mix it with a little suspense. And, I adore that she also knows how to mix a little bit of fun in her stories as well.

Lucas and Ronnie were not only special together, they were actually funny at times. I loved he protectiveness and her responses to same. Then there was Fluffy … still don’t know why he’s called that but he is nowhere near what you would think of as a “Fluffy”. I guess that’s Lexxie’s sense of humor coming through. Between the three of them, I had laugh-out-loud moments, times when I was scared and some very happy moments as well. When Ronnie’s parents were brought into the story, I couldn’t help but smile again. Then there was Mr. and Mrs. Underwood … when they came into the story, I laughed. They are brought in at the most intense part of the story and back and forth between them all couldn’t have been funnier. Sorry, I know it was supposed to be a serious situation but I couldn’t help but chuckle at the timing of it all. Maybe it’s just my sick sense of humor?

So, all in all, I enjoyed Bad Boy in Cuffs. You have to hand it to Lexxie Couper. She knows how to write an erotic scene, a comical scene, a serious scene and bring them all together cohesively. Bad Boy In Cuffs may have been a short story but it was action packed, out and in the bedroom. Can we please have Fluffy’s story now?

Wow

To have a man like Lucas be so in love with you he has trouble being away from you is so hot. I want a man like that. Ronnie is so lucky to have Lucas in her life. She also loves him so much. How did a Supreme Court Justice manage to be so corrupt and no one knew about it. That is bad and shows that corruption needs to stop. These stories I just can't put down, I love them. Thank you.

This review is for the entire series of the Dangerous Desire books.

The Dangerous Desire series of books are sexy, hot, and raw. It's one hell of a ride as we journey with Lucas and Ronnie as they battle the ghosts and dangers from Lucas' past towards their happy ending.

These books are Lexxie Couper at her best. They are pure unfettered action and eroticism. It's violent. Lots of killing, people dying, people hitting people, unrestrained savage fighting. And let's not forget how sexually charged and erotic they are too. If you like all the sex, these books are for you.

I have to admit to reading these books in one sitting. They are short, under a hundred pages each but each book completes it's own story arc with an underlying over all theme across all four books that is quite subtle. You won't be left frustrated if you only read one book at a time.

I love the characters in these books. Lucas is a favorite, of course. He's so raw, so invincible, and so deadly. He's also savage about his feelings for Ronnie and supremely protective of her. Everything he's done in his life since he's met her has been about protecting her and he takes keeping her safe very seriously. He has moments of doubt and uncertainty when his past comes back to taint their newfound joy together, but Lucas being Lucas, he deals with it with deadly skill and swiftness. I can't forget that Lucas is also sexy as heck and when it comes to loving Ronnie, he's a freaking machine. Oh man, that stamina!!

I love Ronnie too. It's never easy for me to love a heroine but Ronnie is feisty, brave, and level-headed. She understands what she's getting into when it comes to being in a relationship with Lucas. She understands his dangerous past and what that means to their current life, but she loves him enough to take it all in stride and roll with the punches. I love how she stands up to Lucas when he gets overbearing and how she stands up for Lucas in the face of her father's disapproval. After all, she's fallen for the bad boy next door, and let's face it, as sweet as Lucas is towards Ronnie, he's a bad boy to the core.

As for the secondary characters, there are some incredible ones. I'm not going to name them because that will actually be spoilery and I try not to do that in my reviews (sometimes I fail as I discovered recently with an old review I wrote and thankfully never posted).

All I can say is if you love hot, sexy heroes and feisty heroines, an adrenalin-fueled story, then you need to read these books.

I really wanted to love this book because I love Lucas and Ronnie, but this book fell flat for me.

This book actually made no sense to me and I didn't get the point of it. There was definitely too many sex scenes, it was basically: Ronnie breathes --> sex --> Ronnie moves --> sex --> Lucas gets angry --> sex --> danger --> sex --> sex; it felt like 70% of this short book was just sex and the actual danger didn't take long to resolve. I did NOT like what happened to Francis (the dog was killed) and the Supreme Court Judge ordeal was just terrible; and let's not forget the issue with Ronnie's parents. I thought they were loving and supportive parents then suddenly Ronnie says her dad was always a miserable person, but then he apologizes and she thinks he's wonderful again.

I do not know if there is another book coming in this series, but the ending was abrupt and left you wondering what happens next. I think an epilogue would have been a great idea to show what happens to our wild couple and their friends and family in the future.
