This book is a sequel of The Way of Energy, so make sure you have trained the basics for a few months before using the material in this book.
As the first book introduces the standing meditation Zhan Zhuang, that is usually known for the health benefits, this book goes deeper into the martial art aspect, Dachengchuan. A lot of advanced, power postures and discussion on martial energy dynamics. Master Lam, as usual, delivers concise information, cutting straight into practice.
The book provided detailed training regiment, including how long you are expected to train each session, so you can monitor improvements. I will go back to this book from time to time as a main reference.
This this book is best if you have a little tai chi or chi gung training just so it's easier to understand the refinements of some of the postures. But all in all it walks you through the postures really well!!! The training is well structured also. Found it a great addition to my internal arts training! Enjoy!
A solid overview and explanation of an internal martial art - written by a well seasoned practitioner. But, then again. This first sentence applies for a few thousand books.
I am convinced that upon any study of a diverse arts one will find striking similarities between these many systems- despite their varied names. This is therefore not the greatest book of its kind. Its short though. So i guess thats virtuous
