Messaging: Why Audience Matters

Rate this book
Depending on which pundit, preacher or blogger we follow, we feel justifiably confused. "If Christians don't boldly declare the truth, who will?" Passionate about their persuasions, others advise fellow believers to just keep their hypocritical judgments to themselves. We're overdue for calming clarity, clearly founded on Scripture. This book is anything but just another opinion. In a relevant discourse recounting numerous headlines of Christians going public with their sentiments, John Wootton uncovers solid New Testament patterns that offer timely and refreshing modern-day application. The result? Unity and healing can replace our fractured approach, as believers discover Scripture-based guideposts for effectively communicating with a keen awareness of our audience. Decades of messy messaging have primed the heart of a wayward culture for a refined and rejuvenated reflection of the Body of Christ.

I just finished reading “Messaging; Why Audience Matters” by John Wootton ... 5 out of 5 stars ... a must read for Christ followers ... we have a voice; but know your audience before speaking, choose your platform carefully ... unity and healing through Christ's message is our goal ... packed full of scripture support (which I look for in a great book) ... highly recommend … As a Pastor, I'll be purchasing several copies and it will be added to Legacy Church's recommended reading list! I encourage you to read this book. Very timely topic and message. It’s perfect for small group setting, book club discussion group, church leadership group, youth and college/career groups etc. Why not use it for a sermon series as well?

This book was very challenging and inspiring. It had me at many moments underlining, post-it noting, with wows, oops, and yikes throughout. It was practical and brought often miss seen truth to light.
