LeTeisha Newton

Writing professionally since 2008, LeTeisha Newton’s love of romance novels began long before it should have. After spending years sneaking reads from her grandmother’s stash, she finally decided to pen her own tales. As many will do during their youth, she bounced from fantasy, urban literature, mainstream, interracial, paranormal, heterosexual, and LGBT works until she finally rested in contemporary romance.

LeTeisha is all about deep angst and angry heroes who take a bit more loving to smooth their rough edges. Love comes in many sizes, shapes, and colors, as well as with—or without—absolute beauty and fairy tale sweetness. She writes the darker tales because life is hard … but love is harder.

Loved

OMG. Going Under by LeTeisha Newton was freaking amazing.

This MC book was unlike any other I've read, and I love my dirty talking, rough, foul mouth bikers and the sassy women that stand by their sides.

I started this book about two hours ago, and I only stopped to take a short break to get a snack.

That's how wrappedup into this book I was.

Dark romance

This was a pretty interesting dark romance, and definitely not for the faint of heart. Readers who like MC romances will enjoy this book.

Mixed Feelings!

This book was probably my least favorite by the author. The writing and the storyline was good, it was just certain answers were not made clear to me, as well as answered. As a vivid reader I need answers. That’s is why it was given 3 stars. It’s more like 3.5 stars, but I really didn’t have it in me to give it 4 stars.

All ion all the book was not bad at all but just not my favorite.

Happy Reading!

I'm always on the hunt for good MC romance. Especially, if it is on the darker and grittier side. Therefore, this was a very very pleasant surprise. Was it perfect? No. However, I looked past the imperfections and enjoyed this because it was a dang good story. So much so, in fact, that I wanted it not to end. I wanted Lana to get a story too.

Dark and passionate

Ms. Newton is quickly becoming my go to for dark, depraved, angst filled romance.

Jack and Melody’s stories are similar in that they are both broken from their pasts. Jack is paying fir the sins of his father. Melody is recovering from her drug addiction. As they meet by chance and Melody sees something she shouldn’t, Jack has to choose wether to get rid of her or take her and figure out what her angle is. As their story moves along, they both realize they can give each other what they are missing. Even through the dark seedy world of the Diamond Eaters Motorcycle Club they slowly start to realize that need each other. Through the struggles they face with the MC, they find a way to feed their darkness and get their version of happiness.

I’m so blown away by this book! It will definitely be added as one of my top favorite MC books. I hope that Ms. Newton adds more books in this universe. Maybe a story for Lana?? Here’s to hoping!

I like this up to the gauntlet night. I loved them deciding to face everything together and I thought they were gonna be badasses. Then he flopped. Wth?? He’s so scared of love like that?? It made no sense at that point. And then suddenly like 2 chapters later he was back to wanting her blah blah blah. I didn’t get it. And the time jumps throughout but especially at the end??? Just got annoying. It didn’t even show her pov during that time??? Then the end was a mess and so sappy.

45% DNF. I love the cover. 😍I was intrigued by the blurb. I love a good dark MC book.

Unfortunaly the story felt really unrealistic to me. I am trying for months too actually like this book. But so far that didnt happen.

We meet Melody and she’s full of self awareness and—though it may not seem like it at first, it’s there—strength. She’s been through some stuff, she’s about to go through some more, but just maybe she’ll help someone who will also help her along the way, and just maybe she’ll find her place in the world—and one that doesn’t involve dependency on anything or anyone.

So there’s a survivor story built in, but there’s so much heat and drama along the way. There’s literally murder and mayhem and cattiness and scandal and backstabbing at dangerous, life-threatening levels… I could not get enough of this book. From the first page I knew it was going to be calling me back to it like a drug. Now that I’m finished, I still find myself back in that world sometimes—it’s staying with me. That’s how you know it’s good reading—when it hooks you like that and stays with you.

I came upon a couple of minor continuity issues, but I also read an advance reader copy, so those may well be gone from the version that’s up for sale. Either way, they do not alter the overall picture in anyway and won’t distract from the reading experience. Editing is great, formatting is fun and pretty, the cover is fitting and looks professional. I highly recommend this book if you like your reads a little bit dark and or if you like the motorcycle club scene. I think Newton did this really well, making it easy for the reader to slip right into this world and watch all the chaos unfold.

Strongly, strongly recommend. My final rating is 4 addicted stars.

What an unexpected surprise...I REALLY liked it! The story of Jack (MC Enforcer) and Melody (recovering drug addict). One night Melody goes looking for some danger and she finds it when she is at the wrong place at the wrong time. The place and time...Jack. Jack ends up taking Melody and claims her. Their story begins in the clubhouse where they must both learn to trust each other.

I loved both of these characters! Jack was so good for Melody. He was sweet, but very jealous and protective of her. I really liked Melody. She had some serious issues that she had to overcome, with Jack's help, but she remained resilient. She was tough and she did not let people push her around, but still gave Jack respect. She knew when to let Jack take control and when to stand up for herself. I love a story where the heroine is ride or die for her man!! Melody had Jack's back throughout all of it. There was some drama in the MC that added more grit to the story. Heat Check: 5 out of 5. Overall, it was very good read!

Why Not 5 Stars?
Epilogue - I wanted more of an epilogue. I needed a longer look into the future. After all they went through, more time could have been spent on the ending and the epilogue. If felt like, the book is too long and I need to wrap it up.

I really, REALLY didn't like the beginning of Going Under. I didn't like either of the MCs, especially Melody. However, as I learned their stories that slowly began to change. Where I first thought Melody weak and reckless, I began to see her fighting spirit and unflinching loyalty. Jack deserved so much better in life. He paid his dues, but he was constantly being punished for another's sins. He and Melody were beautifully damaged, and together they unstoppable..unbreakable.
There were some unanswered questions. The author alluded that there was a possibility that what happened in the past didn't happen the way everyone thinks. Bit she never goes back to address if something shady did happen or if he happened as everyone said. Unanswered questions are a pet peeve of mine, but I won't hold it against the author.
This boom isn't for the faint of heart. There is: drug use, violence, rape, and exhibitionism.

I received a copy of this story in return for an honest review.

This story is different for Ms. Newton. It is dark but the emotions are real and Ms. Newton does a wonderful job of articulating them. I loved both Jack and Melody. They have flaws. And you wouldn't two such flawed people would click as well as they did. They fit. Melody is a recovering addict and Jack is unarguably a killer but together they become something more. I loved how real Ms. Newton kept her characters. She didn't whitewash either character. Melody and Jack had demons and both were unflinching as they faced them. Falling in love wasn't part of the program but their journey toward love felt gut wrenchingly real and believable. I loved that Ms. Newton gave us a story with real emotions and characters that on their face would appear likable. But I found myself rooting for Jack and Melody to succeed alone and together. This story is well worth your time.

This was my first read by this author and what a ride it was. I love MC reads and this contained everything I love about them, but in an new and original story. Two characters, both lost and broken, find each other in an unlikely circumstance. They are nothing each other wants but everything they need. I will be neededing more time in this world. There are so many more stories to tell.

The characters felt so real and the story line was well developed. I could not put this story down. Though it is titled as dark, I would not say that it is. It has difficult issues addressed and faced by the main characters, but there was nothing overly descriptive or destructive (but that could just be me).

This author has the ability to suck you into her stories, to become a witness to these characters lives and to be more then willing to participate. She writes in such a realistic way that I catch myself wondering if it could really happen to a person.

LaTeisha Newton is not a new to me author and so, I'm always curious about what we will get with a new book. Going Under is an incursion in a MC world, a first to me by this author.
This book tells the story of Melody and Jake, a drug ex-addict, unlovable to her own eyes that seeks a new high in dangerous sex and the VP of Diamond Eaters MC that needs to prove himself everyday due to his father's past mistakes and believes himself not capable of love. This is an amazing read and very well written book, full of dangerous situations, raw and gritty, everything the author got us, readers, used to. This is a love story never meant to be, but, somehow, happens and is forever. Reporting a criminal MC and for that, part of one percenters, I liked the way the atmosphere was portraited, very accurate and believable, full of angst, drama and very special moments between the main characters.
For all that was said, I definitively recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book! However, it won't be for everyone. There are some really dark parts and quite a bit of violence throughout. If you can look past that, you'll find a story about unconditional love, moving on from and not being defined by your past, as well as finding out who your true friends/family are. I loved Melody and Jack together. While they didn't get together under the best of situations, their relationship developed into something really strong. There were many factors trying to keep them apart but they got their HEA in the end.

Oh man! What a start to this story! Going Under was great. I really enjoyed the banter of how the characters met.
This is my first time reading this author and it will not be my last! The pace of this story was upbeat and intriguing. The characters were fulfilling and the story line was supurb! I loved the first 75% percent of this story. What happened to this main character was so intriguing, I just enjoyed the Stockholm syndrome theme! I, however was not a fan of the ending.. I found it lacking the excitement the rest of the book had. None the less with Going Under is a great read and I recommend it. ( especially is you love an MC read!)

If you love Dark, suspenseful, angst filled stories, Going Under is the book for you!!
Melody and Jack are NO strangers to dangerous situations but NEITHER OF THEM could've predicted the outcome of their introduction to one another.
LeTeisha Newton takes you on an extremely emotional rollercoaster that will have you cursing her and thanking her in the same sentence. Ever single emotion was ripped out of me while reading this story about 2 damaged souls who, together battle past AND present demons that threaten to destroy them both....
I also LOVED the secondary characters..... WELL... The nice ones anyway. :-)

When I first started this book I wasn't a big fan of Melody, or Jack for that matter. But these two grew on me as the story progressed. Both characters had so much drama and baggage. Melody being an ex junkie and Jack carrying the sins of his father. I do love a good dark romance and this was dark and gritty. So much betrayal to overcome. This was my first time reading this author and won't be my last. I enjoyed this page turner very much.

I am really loving this new author to me, this is the second book I have read of her library. An MC story, with some great twists and turns that will leave you turning those pages as fast as possible. I love an MC romance but this author takes it into the darker side so well. Melody and Jack are opposites that find themselves not only drawn together but find themselves depending on one another for survival in the world they exist. Another great read by this author. Enjoy!

Good short read.

If you like MC stories you will probably like this one. I am not sure I would classify this as "Dark" and definitely not erotic. There was some violence and some steamy scenes, but all pretty predictable. Not much character development and both were hard to like. The story buildup fizzled out in the middle, and didn't really pick back up. Too bad. My first experience with this author was really good, but this one is making me think twice about putting the time in to ready any more of her books.

This book was fairly hard to read. I feel as though the plot could have been a bit thicker, but it just got washed out by hardcore smut around every turn. I’m not sure how I finished it lol. Im all for a good smutty book but on the first page? Just jumping right in? It was hard for me to stay focused and keep going. I’d love to give this author another shot, but this book wasn’t it for me. I do enjoy the characters melody and Jack and the ending was lovely, but this was hardcore. Definitely needs a trigger warning added for grape, forced pregnancy, drvgs, @buse, and probably a few more.

Oh my freaking god!! I am a huge fan of MC books, with Kristen Ashley's Chaos MC topping the list. Well sorry Kristen, but LeTeisha Newton just took your #1 spot in my placement order!

Dark romance, sexy and detailed HOT sex scenes. Mystery, revenge and chaos. Freaking awesome!! Didn't want to put it down and seriously considered calling in unable to work!! Jack and Melodys tortured lives combine and create fireworks.

Can't read to see what else becomes of this series!!

LeTeisha is a master of dark romance. I've read 3 books so far and they are twisted so good. GOING UNDER starts out fast, hold nothing back yet under the dark exterior, you see how their lives are lead astray from the actions and decisions of others.

You learn to survive through the dark and can see how Melody and Jake have shattered parts yet fit together. Lots going on and definitely not for the faint. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Going Under is a dark, MC romance and my second book by this author. I love it when two damaged characters find each other in twisted ways and end out being great for each other. Emotionally Charged

I'm honestly surprised this wasn't the start of a series.

Really good book all-in-all. Strong characters, lots of secondary ones too that I would enjoy reading stories about, dark plot, gritty, erotic, and emotionally charged.

Writing style was superb when detailing both Melody and Jack's feelings with not only each other, but themselves. Especially Melody's internal war with drugs and staying clean.

Great MC romance.

I loved this edgy MC romance. This book is written well, has great characters and you can tell the author researched how things are handled when it comes to Motorcycle Clubs. This is the third book I've read by this author because I just recently discovered her. I am definitely planning on reading everything I can find by this author.

This book was great. So many feels it was an emotional roller coaster. I loved how Letiesha took you down the dark path. If you like Sons of Anarchy you will love this book. The only issue is I feel like I need more.....I need to know what happens after. I would like to see another book or novella about these Characters. I can't wait to read more from this author.

I thought this was a good book. The characters are well thought out, and the plot is interesting. It’s also full length which was nice. I can’t say much for how realistic is was - obviously not a member of a biker gang -, but the world building showed real talent in my opinion.
