I originally bought this book in 4th grade after the movie came out. I only got the chance to read it recently. The first part of it was somewhat accurate but part where nebula shoots rocket and yondu was completely cut out and replaced with quill, gamora, ego and drax coming to help making it that ego is actually a good person and that yondu dosent die cutting a huge part of the movie out. Overall this book wasn't terrible at the beginning in fact i really liked it but they could've made it a little longer to add the major part of the movie.
This is supposed to be a condensed audiobook version of the movie and it is...somewhat. But the whole end of the story didn't happen and a lot of other things were different so I am not sure where they get off saying this is like the movie.
The only thing giving this an extra star is the extra story that was new. I really enjoyed it! And the Guardians never fail to make me laugh.
This book could've been so amazing. Unfortunately, they chose to only novelize somewhere between a quarter and a half of the movie. The writing of the part that is novelized is fantastic. The only reason I gave this two stars instead of just one was because the bonus story which is included is pretty good. I would very much prefer to of gotten an entire novelization and bought the bonus story as a separate purchase. These kinds of underhanded shenanigans are getting very old, Disney. Something similar, and equally a polling, was done with the junior novelizations of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Yet, I've read others, such as the junior novelization of The Lone Ranger, which were complete. I took a chance on this one. I am extremely disappointed.
Great read but I have 2 complaints. Way too short and it feels like pieces of the story are missing. Overall though a fun and short read. Can't wait for the movie to come out!
