There was a lot more her than just the vampire way. . .

I found this read to have a bit more to do with humanity than the vampire way. Charles has lived a long time. When he left the world of humanity he left behind the one woman that he loved more than life itself. He never thought to fall in love again. He never thought to have a family of his own. With the passage of time and the loss of the immortal leader, Charles finds that he had to coninue on with the ways of his coven. That ws until he meet one beautiful child that was different. And then her nanny, Cay. This was a beautiful read that had a little something extra to keep you hanging on for the next turn of the page.

Badly wounded, Corporal Charles Samuel Dodd had been left to die, surrounded by other Union and Confederate soldiers also facing their deaths. As he was quickly nearing death, a dozen people in dark robes came out of the dark woods. Jean Michel appreciated how hard Charles fought to live and offered him the chance to live forever. With his dying breath, he accepted the offer.

The vampire life continued until Jean Michel disappeared and could not be found. Charles took over the coven and carried on as Jean Michel had taught him. But one night, after 50 years, Charles was stunned to see his former leader and friend – but he was now human and had a tale to tell! Would this shocking visit change their very lifestyles? Would they survive what was coming? Or would his future lead down another path entirely?

The author beautifully handled the description of the scenes so that the reader almost felt present at the battlefield where Charles was turned. It was so well done! The story itself was not a typical vampire tale and was very intriguing! I definitely recommend it! I voluntarily read a review copy of this book and my comments reflect my honest and sincere opinion.

I really enjoyed this book as it wasn't your average vampire story, it a great twist in it and I didn't want to put it down, however I have only given it 4 stars as it is quite short, easily read in one sitting, had it been longer I would certainly have given it the full 5 stars. Charles was a corporal in the confederate army when he was shot and left for dead. Not wanting to die so he get get back to his true love when he's offered the gift of eternal life he readily agrees not knowing it will change his life and he won't ever be able to see his love again. He has spends centuries walking the earth spending his days hiding from the sun and his nights feeding on blood. Disappointed with it all he rescues Elandra who would have been the next child kill for the coven and goes on the run with her. ending up in Boston he takes a room saying she is his adoptive daughter. Across from his apartment is Cayden a student doctor who steps in watching Alandra for Charles thinking he is going out to work nights. They become close but everything changes when his past - the coven catches up with him, wanting their sacrifice back and Cayden learns the truth about him. Alandra has the means to end all Vampires. Will Charles take the cure for the woman he's fallen for and will they stop the coven - you're just going to have to read the book and find out as I hate when reviewers give away too much of the story and spoil it for other readers. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

A Heartwarming Vampire story. FANTASTIC !!!

Vampires are real...but most don't know, there is a cure! Charles is a 100+ vampire whose maker has re-discovered the cure for vampirism. Certain young female children carry a special solution in their blood that will reverse the vampire virus. Alandra is one such female. Chosen by a member of his coven as a sacrifice, Charles is faced with a life altering decision. Now all Charles has to do is keep Alandra safe from those who would kill her. On the run, Charles meets a woman who reminds him of his life before becoming a vampire and the two fall quickly for each other. Wonderful twist on the usual vampire story. Lots of hot, steamy scenes and a happily ever after that will warm every heart. GREAT BOOK!!! The extra books included in this copy were an unexpected thrill. I am voluntarily reviewing this book without compensation.

Personally, I liked the beginning where the vampires are viewed as "Angels of Mercy" on the battlefield as they helped wounded soldiers out of their misery. Charles was one such soldier, gut shot with no chance of survival. He was turned by the vampire leader and continued on. Times changed and so did vampire feeding habits. This story portrays vampirism as an infection. Cayden is a medical student and has an apartment across the hall from Charles and his daughter, Alandra. Learning that Charles "works" the night shift, she offers to watch Alandra while he's out. Cayden reminds Charles of the love of his life, Nancy Ellen. Things get hot and steamy between the two. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I really liked the way things turned out. I was worried for awhile about the outcome. I recommend this book to vampire lovers.

Are a vampire existence and immortality what Charles really wants?
May 4, 2017
Format: Paperback
A different take on the biological side of vampirism, this story has a noble vampire hero who was transformed on the battlefield of Chickamauga during the Civil War. His sybaritic life in Atlanta is disrupted by an encounter with a long lost acquaintance and he abandons his coven to save a human child. In the process, he meets the human heroine, a good-as-gold MD in training. There is plenty of steam, romance and suspense; that, along with an adorable orphan child who seems to roll with the punches, made it a very enjoyable read. I hope the author brings some of these characters back in a subsequent book because they grew on me.

I received an ARC of this book from the author at no cost. This is my honest review.

Cayden Banks is just trying to finish her medical degree, but cannot help but notice the new neighbor. Charles was turned during the civil war and has walked the earth since missing his first love. When Charles decides to run and save a little girl, he gets more than he bargained for. Will Cayden believe Charles when he admits what he is? Will Charles be able to protect Cayden and the little girl and get his life back?

Loved this vampire book with a twist. Loved how despite what Charles was, he admitted enough was enough and stepped up to do something about it. Loved Cayden's strong personality and her determination to finish her degree despite her loss. Will definitely add this author to my TBR list!

Very Good Book

This book treats vampires as if they have a viral disease that can be cured. Charles, our hero, is the leader of a coven of vampires. His site finds him to warn him that the Cohen's latest sacrifice had something in her blood that will turn them all back into humans again. He's not sure what to do so he takes the girl and runs to New York, where he meets Cay, who offers to babysit the girl during the night while Charles "works". He finds himself enraptured by Cay because she reminds him of his first love. Things get hairy when the coven finds them and, for a while, it seems like Charles is going to give up the girl. With Cay's help, along with the young girl, things work out just fine and they get their HEA.

This was a good book, the story was interesting and the characters were entertaining, overall I enjoyed the story but believe that the storyline could have flowed a little more smoothly. It was an interesting story centering on the head of a vampire coven and how a series of events changed everything in his life. When he was turned over 100 years ago he lost the love of his life and now because of all these changes he might have a chance to find love again.
If you enjoy a paranormal romance with a set of entertaining characters then i am sure you will find this book appealing.

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review.

Interesting

It is always interesting to learn how other people imagine vampires and this Author's take I have to admit made me nervous when I started reading, but relaxed the further I got into it.

Every turn of page had you wondering what was going to happen and who in the coven you could trust. You follow along Charles road as he discovers truths he didn't know and while he protects an innocent.

You cannot help but Cry when he finds love after all this time even though he may or may not get to keep it. You will discover loads of secrets that have been discovered.

Come enjoy this journey with me.

Until Next Time... Tabi

Corporal Charles Dodd was shot during the war between the Union and the Confederates. When left for dead, Jean Michel and his coven approached the injured fallen soldiers offering them eternal life.
Charles eventually runs from the coven with Alandra, hiding her secret. The coven wants them dead.
Cayden is studying to become a doctor when she meets Charles and Alandra. Instant chemistry. Does he keep running or does he take the chance on endangering her life as well?
I would recommend this book. Short read. Standalone.
I'm volunteering an honest review for an advance reader's copy.

I felt that the beginning of this story was a bit on the slow side but as the author was trying to lay the gourd work for the storyline itself. When you get into that part of the story, you will then be put into the plot of the now and future. I felt that the chemistry between between Charles and Cayden was good so it made a good storyline. I do wish that the character of the little girl that was under Charle's care Alandra was a bit more developed. I thought all and all this was a good read. ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Charles was turned to a vampire to escape death.
Now, he is just passing thru this life w/ no light at the end of the tunnel.
He is sort of regretting his choice.
While trying to save an Innocent, he meets Cayden.
( Great name by the way )
The attraction was instantaneous, but can he risk it.
Danger is soon to come!
Will Chales be able to protect the child + Cayden?
You will have to read the book to found out!

I went into this book blind. The title grabbed my attention so I one clicked without reading the blurb. You'd think that this book was a fluffy, maybe erotic romance, given the title however it isn't that at all. I don't want to give too much away however I will say the plot was well thought out and incredibly interesting. It's a short and fast read which ends at 21% and has some bonus books included.

This was a very good storyline...Vampires that want to to live a good life...is there a cure? Can they become mortal again? Do they even want to? Who's good who's bad? Charles has a heart that even if its not beating is good...Cayden is the woman that brings memories back. Jean Michael was the best "father" sire Charles had. And a poor little girl that did nothing to anybody but deserves love. This is a feel good read!

Wonderful story - should be a mini series with more adventures!

This is NOT just your typical vampire meets girl & lives happily ever after. It's a great read with strong likeable characters, plot twists and really could have further books following on. I had to read this in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. Excellent book for anyone who likes paranormal fantasy with romantic sex.

I received an ARC and voluntarily choose to review.
From the title I was expecting another fluff book. The usual vampire tale. Well that was blown out of the water! This is not your average vampire, story. The lore is completely different and so is the story. The characters are great and keep you as interested as the story. Totally worth a read.

I felt this was a good short read. At first I was wondering where the nanny part came in, but then half way through it showed up even thou Cayden only watched Alandra for a couple of nights. I liked that Charles and Martha became friends, even with their love hate relationship. I feel the way it ended was nice, but could have been more in-depth about getting to that point.

Surprising

Now this book is not your normal vampire romance, I loved how the author told another side as well as I fell in live with both Charles and Cayden. He was willing to sacrifice life as he knew it not only for love but a cure. The greatest surprise is that the read gets a set of books with explosive chemistry to read

Not to my liking

This book was different. Was nothing of what I expected, and not in a good way. Cayden is not a nanny for Charles so much as a night time babysitter for like 2-3 nights that they know each other.
Although I liked Charles he is kinda whiny for a vamp. And running away with the child? I don't know, the whole story was just weird to me.

Interesting, original, and quite a different take on vampires from what I've read before. I really liked the charismatic, sexy, strong, and determined characters. The ending was a big surprise, didn't expect that! In addition to the primary story of The Vampires Nanny are six other freebies guaranteed to keep you up all night.

Okay, this is really fantastic. All the books were really well written. But I think my favorite were the first two (Vampire Nanny, and the werewolf one - which was a while ago that I finished because its taken a while to read all of them) I really liked all of the books
