The Nashville Dreams series: Can't Walk AwayCan't Let Her GoCan't Fight the Feeling
Sandy lives in a quiet suburb of Indianapolis and is a high school psychology teacher. She is published through Grand Central Forever Yours and Carina Press as well as indie-published. An Amazon #1 Bestseller many times, she has won numerous awards, including two HOLT Medallions.
Can’t Let Her Go is book two in the fantastic series, Nashville Dreams, by Sandy James. I fell in love with this series with the first book and my love continues with this one. Three men, Brad, Ethan and Russ, own the bar, Words and Music, together, all three confirmed bachelors. In the first book, Can’t Walk Away, we saw Brad fall first for the up and coming star, Savannah. Now it’s Ethan’s turn.
Ethan Walker was the only child of two famous parents who loved living their lives in the public eye. They forced their son into the spotlight in a way he hated. But then he tragically lost his parents. He never wanted that life for himself and instead chose to own a horse ranch. Between helping to run the bar and working his ranch, it was all he wanted or needed. He never felt inclined to get involved with a woman. He just wasn’t interested. But then, one night, Chelsea Harris waltzed into his bar and he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Until she asked him to sing a duet with her on a charity album she was doing. Then it was easy. He told her no and walked away.
Chelsea Harris was Nashville’s hottest star. She worked hard to get where she was. Part of the price for that fame was dealing with the paparazzi and fans. She accepted that. Chelsea lost her father six months ago to cancer. Now she wants to do an album of duets with children of famous singers, singing their parents hits. To get Ethan on the album would make the album a sure success. But Ethan’s feelings about being in the public eye were well known. He stayed as far away from it as he could. And he never sang, even though he had a beautiful voice. He would surely agree to do this for her, though, as soon as he knew what a good cause it was for, right? But he wouldn’t even give her a chance to explain. He just flat out refused.
So Chelsea goes to plan B. To get to know Ethan, become friends, so that he might consider her offer. This project was so important to her. But it’s she that was a victim of her own plan because the more time she spent with Ethan, the more she fell for him. She was so drawn to this sexy cowboy but also she felt drawn to his ranch, to the peace she felt there, away from the public eye.
“Kissing this woman was playing with fire, and he was ready to get burned.”
I loved these two together. Chelsea really was a down home girl when Ethan got to know her. But both of these two were stubborn as heck. Ethan wanted nothing at all to do with the public way Chelsea lived her life. But for Chelsea, it was just the way it was. If their relationship was to have any kind of chance, Ethan would have to accept that, wouldn’t he? What I also loved is that even though there was instant attraction between these two, they took things slow. Chelsea refused to rush the physical side of their relationship. She wanted to be sure they had a chance before they went there. But when they finally did, it was worth the wait. But their little bubble they put themselves in doesn’t last long as rumors begin to swirl and photographers are hiding around every corner.
Of course, we get to see plenty of Brad and Savannah in this book along with sweet little Caroline. Actually, the moment in the book that made my eyes water wasn’t Chelsea and Ethan, it was a beautiful moment between Brad and Savannah. I love those two. And I loved the ending of this book. It was epic and perfect and gave me goosebumps. I love this series and can’t wait for the next book, Russ’s story in Can’t Fight the Feeling. We haven’t really gotten to know him much so I’m looking forward to his story. It’s just my opinion but he seems to be the goofiest of three guys. I can’t wait to find out more.
Series: Nashville Dreams Book #2 Stand Alone Title: yes Author: Sandy James
Genre: Romance, Contemporary
Blurb: In Nashville the music is louder, the dreams are bigger, and love can bring a cowboy to his knees.
Ethan Walker is Nashville royalty. Born to the King and Queen of Country Music, he's spent his life trying to escape the spotlight of his parents' fame, even walking away from his own promising singing career. He's the kind of cowboy who prefers flannel to flashbulbs, hay fields to hit records, and the solitude of his horse farm to the nightlife along Music Row. The last thing he wants is attention, especially when it comes from country's latest star...
Chelsea Harris's meteoric rise up the charts and string of celebrity boyfriends mean that wherever she goes, the paparazzi follow. A duet with Nashville's favorite son is exactly what her new charity album needs, but when she approaches Ethan, he turns her down flat. To win the camera-shy cowboy over, Chelsea will have to approach him on his terms. Trouble is, the more time she spends on his farm, the more Ethan wants to keep her there.
Thoughts: This was a sweet little country romance, with a Nashville singer emphasis. Chelsea, a star in her own right, is trying to pull together an album devoted to charity. Her hook? Songs with the grown children of country music legends. Ethan is the son of the King and Queen of country, and she wants him for this album – unfortunately, Ethan despises the spotlight. Even when he finally begins to give in for the feelings for Chelsea, his issues with fame and the spotlight are major hurdles in their romance.
Chelsea is a sweet girl, who patiently tries to get Ethan to see things her way, but she’s far from the manipulative girl Ethan tries to paint her to be. Their romance was sweet, if a little bit predictable. Definitely a good pick, if you’re looking for romance with something a little country thrown into the mix.
This book was just amazing!!! Usually stories involving one famous person and one common person tend to put the famous person as the male character. In fact this was the first book I've read where it was reversed and that the female character was famous. Ethan was famous to a degree, but he wasn't hounded and followed by the press the way Chelsea was. Every so often his name would come up in an article online but for the most part he was forgotten by the press. That all changes though when Chelsea walks into his life.
A great story about Ethan trying to come to terms with his past and what happened to his parents while falling in love with someone who has to deal with everything he hates. Loved their immediate connection; it felt like they had known each other for years. Loved how Ethan fought himself over what he wanted and what he thought he wanted from life.
4 1/2 Country Stars! A great romance about fame and all its pitfalls.
Ethan is the son of Nashville music royalty. His parents were the King and Queen of country music even after their accidental death. Ethan's parents always chose their music before him therefore he never wanted any part of the fame, even though he had the talent of his parents combined. Chelsea Harris has worked hard her whole life to become the country music star she is today. After her father dies from cancer, she decides to make an album for charity with all the children of famous country music stars, including Ethan. When Chelsea and Ethan meet the sparks fly and they can't stop freight train that is headed their way.
This is just one of those really feel good stories. The characters just come to life on the pages and you just want them to get their acts together so they can just love one another. There were times I just wanted to give Ethan a kick in the a$$ so he could get over the past and make a future with Chelsea and then in the next chapter I would just feel sorry for him for all the torment he's been through. A great story that will make you laugh, cry and everything in between.

Love this quirky, fun and brilliantly written group of highly talented friends that are more like family.
This is the first Nashville Dreams book I read and now have the overwhelming urge to read book one even if it is just to see if it is just as good as this one. Ethan Walker is the son of Nashville Royalty and is surly enough to hate all things fame related. Chelsea Harris is a huge country music star that worked hard to get where she is. Six mouths ago she lost her dad to Cancer and is organizing a charity album in his honer to raise awareness and money for research. She is looking to do a duet with Ethan but his is not eager to record anything or be thrust back into the public eye. Loved how engaging and realistic this couple and their friends are in this romantic journey I loved reading.

REVIEW: CAN’T LET HER GO is the second instalment in Sandy James’ contemporary, adult NASHVILLE DREAMS romance series focusing on three friends who own and operate Words and Music-a bar in Nashville, Tennessee: Brad Maxwell, Ethan Walker and Russell Green. This is reluctant, former teen singing sensation Ethan Walker, and country singer Chelsea Harris’s story line. CAN’T LET HER GO can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Chelsea and Ethan) CAN’T LET HER GO follows the building relationship between former child star Ethan Walker, and country music celebrity Chelsea Harris. Ethan Walker is the progeny of country music’s hottest couple but when his father tried to outrun the paparazzi, our hero was left an orphan with a great disdain for everything music and celebrity represents. Enter rising country music star Chelsea Harris-the woman with whom Ethan would fall in love. Chelsea is hoping to release a charity album of duets featuring the children of former music stars, and Ethan Walker is her only hold-out. What ensues are the contemptuous relationship between Chelsea and Ethan, and the fall-out when their friendship and association becomes fodder for the tabloid press.
Ethan Walker is content to work on his ranch, and sit behind the bar serving drinks to his friends and customers but Chelsea Harris’ persistence as it pertains to a duet with our story line hero pushes all of Ethan’s buttons including the buttons that stir up too many memories of his parents and the past. His behaviour and reluctance to help is fuelled by the loss of his parents, and a loss of power over his life as a singing star but I have to question his lack of maturity on too many occasions. Chelsea is determined to release a charity album in honor of her father, who passed away, an album meant to bring awareness and raise funds for cancer research.
The relationship between Chelsea and Ethan begins acrimoniously as Chelsea persists in her attempts to bring Ethan on board. Ethan is determined to remain out of the music business having had to deal with the fall-out of fame and paparazzi at a very young age. The $ex scenes are intimate but mostly implied.
We are reintroduced to Ethan’s business partners Russell Green, Brad Maxwell and Savannah Wolf (Can’t Walk Away #1), as well as introduction of Chelsea’s agent Addie, her mother Betsy , and Chuck Austin, a man who sets out to destroy the building relationship between Ethan and Chelsea.
The world building focuses on two things close to the author’s heart: horses and cancer research. We are up close and personal as Sandy James takes the reader into the world of raising horses, as well as the struggle with which many families have to deal-losing a loved one to cancer.
CAN’T LET HER GO is a story of friendship and family; of betrayal and loss; of letting go of the past and moving forward with life. The premise is engaging and thought-provoking; the romance is hindered by memories of the past; the characters are colorful and charismatic.
I loved this story. Can't Let Her Go is the second book in the series but it is easily read standalone. After reading this book I will definitely be going back and reading the first as well. The writing is excellent and the characters are memorable. With pure southern charm oozing from the pages it was a very pleasant read.
Ethan walked away from the Nashville music scene years ago. After growing up with parents that were Nashville royalty he saw all the ugly that can come with that life. After losing his parents in an accident caused by paparazzi, he wants nothing more to do with it. When Chelsea shows up trying to convince him to record a song on her new album she's recording for charity he dismisses her immediately. Chelsea's not someone who takes no for an answer though and she's willing to do whatever it takes to change his mind.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This is author is new to me but she blew me away. This was awesome. I totally was into this story from the first. The characters were so realistic and believable. I hated to put this book down. Each side of their story was so understandable. The way they opened up to each other was authentic. The miscommunication that they suffered from was SO REALISTIC; that as an outsider (reader), you just want to slap them. Seeing miscommunication like this in real life is heartwrenching and happens often.
This story deserves more than 5 stars!! I highly recommend this.
A sweet Southern romance filled with country charm and likable characters. Where the story may lack depth, it more than makes up for it with the type of characters who are easy to become attached to.
Though this the second installment in the Nashville Dreams Series, it can be read as a standalone without very much backstory needed.

Can't Let Her Go is part bright lights, big city and part hearty realism. Either way you slice it, Ms. James delivers a down home good time. Sandy James sets out to prove a point with Ethan and Chelsea. Ethan grew up in the spotlight. Famous parents saw to that, but for him it was a lonely road. Chelsea has dreams of being a star. She's on the verge of success, when she meets the man who will change her life and steal her heart. Can these two opposites learn how to make beautiful music together? Can't Let Her Go is a tale of sacrifice, compromise and following your heart. Even at the risk of accomplishing your dreams. The sweetest sound I ever heard was the music of the heart, that shines through in ever word of this beautiful ballad of love.
I love the premise, current country star recording a charity album meets the son of two country legends who most definitely DOESN'T want to visit the past.
Unfortunately this book (for me) flagged badly in the middle and I had the overwhelming feeling that this book was all about the telling not the showing. After their sassy meeting the book just seemed as though it was treading water, like the sex scenes it was ultimately disappointing with very little action.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
I was really enthralled with Can't Let Her Go. Sandy James pulled me in with this story and I didn't come up for air until I was finished. I, honestly, couldn't put it down. The drama, from beginning to end, with Ethan was fascinating and I couldn't wait to see how he was going to overcome his feelings and fears that the Nashville community instilled in him. It was going to take one hell of a woman to get him out of his own head, off the horse farm and into a recording studio. He met his match in Chelsea and now it's time to face the music.
Ethan had his reasons for hating the paparazzi. Ethan had his reasons for hating the Nashville music scene. Ethan had his reasons for not wanting to give-in to Chelsea's request. No matter what she did, what she said, he would not sing a duet with her. Yes, she showed him that she was a true country girl, that she could handle just about every situation. But, she loved the spotlight, loved her fans, loved social media and he can't stand any part of that. Add to that that she wants him to sing a duet with her of his parents biggest hit … no, just no. Even if it is just for charity, he's not putting himself front and center again. He's not putting his heart on the line for a country music star. He's not leaving his ranch.
Chelsea suffered a great loss and the only way she knows how to bring herself some solace is through singing. Her idea of an album to raise money for cancer was brilliant. Now, she has just one problem. How does she get Ethan to sing with her? She knows that he hates the limelight. She knows that he hates being referred to as the son of Nashville Royalty. She knows he loves his bar, Words and Music and his horses. She also knows that he will turn her down flat but she's willing to try and will do just about anything to get his melodic voice on her album. With some help from Russ, Savannah and The Hitman, a mutual love of horses and some cajoling, Ethan relents and agrees to the duet.
As this relationship grew from friends to lovers, I couldn't help but fall a little bit in love with Ethan. I understood his hatred of all things celebrity but also understood Chelsea's want for this album to be made. Watching them fall in love and then have it all blown to hell by an ignorant wanna-be, hurt my heart. I loved the story line, the wedding, the island. I hated the angst caused by jealousy. But, in the end, I cried and wished for more.
Sandy James wrote a wonderful story. She brought her characters to life and gave us a glimpse into the lives of Nashville's stars. She wrote beautiful secondary characters that just added to the love story. She gave us an unbelievable ending that brought me to my knees. I truly enjoyed this new-to-me author and am looking forward to more of the Nashville Dream series.
Synopsis: Ethan is the son of two famous country singers. When he was a child, he never felt as though he had a life of his own, that his parents were always on display, and so was he. When his parents were killed trying to get away from the paparazzi, he became more reclusive and just wants to train his horses and run his bar. When Chelsea, a country superstar, comes in to his bar trying to get him to sing one of his parents' duets with her for a charity album, Ethan says no. The cause is really important to Chelsea, though, and she is determined to get Ethan to do it. She buys a horse and has the horse homed at Ethan's ranch, so they see a lot of each other away from outside distractions. Ethan is attracted to Chelsea, but he really doesn't want to live life in the spotlight, and when they are outed, they have to decide how they will deal with it.
What I liked: the build in relationship between Ethan and Chelsea. There was attraction, but they get to know one another before they act on it. They are both strong individuals, with strong views and personalities, and watching them learn to deal with each other was interesting. I liked that they communicated with each other and didn't let things fester. Even if they didn't entirely get where the other person was coming from, they still talked about it. The secondary characters were interesting, and there was good chemistry between all the characters. I liked the fact that Chelsea quickly forgot her plan to get close to Ethan, and enjoyed being around him just to be around him, and I liked that Ethan let go of his control a little and took a chance on having a relationship.
What I didn't like: I wanted to ask both Ethan and Chelsea if they had ever heard of the word compromise, because their biggest problem wasn't that they didn't communicate (thank goodness!), but that they thought it had to be completely one way or completely the other.
Overall impressions: the characters felt real, with human reactions and foibles. I was impressed with the editing and the tone of the story, which flowed nicely.
*I received a free copy through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*
Sweet, spicy and sexy! Lots of sizzling chemistry between Ethan and country super-star, Chelsea. The biggest hurdle in their relationship is that Ethan hates publicity and Chelsea thrives on it, even when it threatens their safety. I totally agree with Ethan that Chelsea does not have to share EVERYTHING with her fans to be successful. Her beautiful voice and genuine talent is her meal ticket! Unfortunately, Chelsea doesn't agree. Now What??? Great story!
Sandy James followed the Brad and Savannah’s story up with a bang. Ethan Walker is one tough nut to crack.
What made this a bang? Ethan and how he fights himself over his attraction to Chelsea at first but also doesn’t see Chelsea as the Chelsea Harris. How he Ethan has been hurt and why he is so wary of fame and the press. How Chelsea showed Ethan she is more than a singer but a person. She can sling drinks as well as manure just as easily as sing.
What is the story? Ethan, who has had his life invaded and childhood taken away by fame and the press, wants to lead a quiet life. Chelsea, country’s darling, is trying to get a charity album in tribute to her dad done and wants Ethan to participate. She tries to ask but Ethan is really closed off (can’t blame him). He even asks as a jerk because of his past. He knows this though but is trying to protect himself and his privacy. Chelsea wants him and finds a way to get to know him. Slowly one thing leads to another and they no longer fight their feelings but celebrity gets in their way. Both must learn to compromise and see the other’s view for this to work. And both are stubborn.
How are the characters?
Ethan-love. He is very guarded but such a sweetheart when he knows you. He is willing to help people but he wants his life to be kept private. Wonderful guy. He admits his mistakes at times but does come off rather gruff at first as he fights his attraction to Chelsea. His view in this story was very relatable.
Chelsea-not what you would think. She is grounded and nice. Your heart tugs at you with why this charity album is so important. I didn’t like her way of trying to get Ethan to help at first but glad she admitted it. She is just as stubborn as ethan. Neither wanting to give an inch but both needed to learn to compromise. I loved seeing her thoughts after everything went down.
Russ-fun and sweet.
Joe-adorable old man who was a second father to Ethan really.
Savannah and Brad-just as cute and wonderful as in the first book.
How is the plot? seduction and entertaining. Ethan and his past tear at your heart. Chelsea and her dogged determination entertains. But really it is the slow burn of their feelings and getting to know one another that is seductive. you anticipate what is to happen and want to see what is next as they explore their feelings for one another and the press. Also it is very intriguing and alluring how they explore love, careers and how to compromise and see the other’s views.
Overall this is a very seductive and entertaining story. A romance that has some sassy banter, two stubborn people falling in love and learning how to let the other’s life and feelings be taken into consideration when making choices and finding a way to be comfortable with those decisions and still be who they are.
“What did I do to deserve you?” A chuckle slipped out. “Since that was supposed to be a compliment, I won’t tell you that you must’ve fucked up something royal to get stuck with me.”
I’ve been reading Sandy James since I first started blogging, nearly four years ago. The first book in her Ladies Who Lunch series sort of fell into my lap, and I’m so glad it did. Because I came to love those ladies, and because, if it hadn’t, Ethan Walker may never have come into my life.
And, oh, that’d be a cryin’ shame. The son of country music royalty and a cowboy (that’s my heart gone, right there), Ethan is grumpy and a bit of a jerk—but also something of a softie. It’s basically book crack, or maybe kryptonite. Whatever you want to call it, it meant that Can’t Let Her Go was a win for me.
Admittedly, there were a couple of moments I wanted to cuss at the stubborn cowboy, but luckily, Chelsea was there to echo my frustrations. I felt an odd kind of kinship with her—though my singing skills are more in line with Chuck’s—and I couldn’t help but appreciate her strength and her sass.
And though a little slow through the middle, this one moved a good pace—filled as it was with likable characters, including the return of Savannah and Brad from Can’t Walk Away, a fresh, fun story and sweet, sexy, and sweet n’ sexy moments.
Oh, and feels. Yeah, this one made my poor ache. And not just because, upon turning the last page, I wished for two or three or four more chapters.
I’m truly excited to see what comes next in this series. My dream is a short wait for book three—hopefully (and most likely) Russ’ book—because I’m very much enjoying my time in Nashville. Just like I enjoyed lunching with those ladies all those years ago . . .
Her breath rushed out as he suddenly tugged her hard against him and hugged her as though she were the only thing keeping him from drowning. This wasn’t passion; this was love.
Usually with romances you can find a bit of yourself (or a bit that you wished was you) but this one was a little different. It’s all about dealing with the side effects of fame. Ethan experienced it thanks to his parents and decided it definitely wasn’t something he wanted. Chelsea sees it as just a by-product of her singing career. She’s worked hard to get where she is and understands that it is her fans that got her there … she just has to accept that it comes with paparazzi and people who think they have a right to comment on her private life. Obviously with two such differing opinions there is going to be trouble when Ethan and Chelsea fall in love.
While I have no experience to draw on to relate to either of them, James does a fantastic job of giving you well-developed characters so you understand where both of them are coming from. It is totally understandable why Ethan would do everything he can to stay out of the spotlight and ignore any press, but after seeing how the world is now, especially with the access of social media, people like Taylor Swift are the perfect example of why Chelsea feels the need to support the machine. When the trouble hits, I have to admit that I felt more for one of them than the other … both of them are stubborn and it doesn’t lead to an easy compromise but it seemed one of them tried even less than the other :)
With a totally awesome HEA moment and characters that I loved, Can’t Let Her Go is not to be missed.
*** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
Wow, there was just so much emotion in this book! You could see that Chelsea and Ethan were meant for each other and complimented each other but they had so much "stuff" to overcome. When you read each other's point of view when they disagreed, you could understand their feelings but yet each could not give a little to make a compromise.
You could just feel that they were headed for a break up and when it happened, you just wanted to shake them and make them work it out. When they did the duet after the break up, I was about in tears, it was so sad.
But, glad that they had their HEA and loved the way that Ethan used to show Chelsea that he wanted her back and would give a little!
When you have a famous country singer falling in love with a guy who wants nothing of the limelight, you know there's bound to be some drama and compromise. This is Chelsea and Ethan's story and I loved reading this book because: one, the pace is steady and two, it's got that southern charm written all over it. I'd recommend this to anyone who lives for a sweet romance. I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review and reading it this afternoon was quite a pleasure.
Can't Let Her Go is Book Two of Sandy James' Nashville Dreams series. I didn't even realize that it was part of a series at first so it reads perfectly fine as a stand-alone. I do look forward to going back and catching up on Book One.
I really had no idea going in what to expect other than the premise sounded intriguing. Ethan and Chelsea were very likeable and despite their money and fame, very down to earth characters. There was certainly a lot of emotion in the story and even a few laugh out loud moments. Very enjoyable and I look forward to seeing what else this author has to offer.
A complimentary ARC copy was provided by the Publisher and NetGalley.
I really liked this one. I haven’t read the previous book in the series but now I think I will. I felt Ethan grew a lot in this book. I liked Chelsea. She seemed kind of Taylor Swift-ish. She really seemed like a genuine person and not an Uber celebrity.
This is a charming country romance. The characters are very likable and the story is interesting. This is the second book in the series but I read it just fine as a standalone.
Ethan had two business partner in his bar Words And Music they were Russell and Brad. Then Russell pointed out Chelsea Harris was in the bar. Ethan’s father had taught him to keep work and fun separate. Chelsea was the hottest thing to hit country music in the last five years. Chelsea had reached celebrity status from what Ethan can see. Ethan knew so much as chelsea lived her life in the open. Ethan couldn’t help but be attracted to chelsea. Chelsea came to the bar to talk to ethan she told him he had done well with the bar. Everyone knew of ethan’s aversion to ever being part of the country music scene was legendary. Chelsea wanted Ethan to sing with her as he had an amazing voice. Ethan hated that his parents had been Nashville stars, after walking away from a budding singing career years ago. Ethan hated anything to do with performing or recording. Ethan wanted to know wanted to know what Chelsea wanted when she didn’t answer he went back to work filling drink orders. Then to everyone’s surprise Chelsea went behind the bar and started making some drinks. She had tended bar before making it big. Chelsea was attracted to Ethan Chelsea’s father had died the year before from cancer and Chelsea wanted to do a charity album with singing duets with kids of former Nashville stars and she wanted Ethan cover one of his parents songs with her. Ethan said no way and walked away from the bar. Ethans parents had been killed in a tragic car accident trying to get away from a butt of a photographer. They were still running stories about his parents fifteen years later. Ethan had brought to the horse farm shortly after his parents deaths. Ethan was a player and Chelsea got under his skin and women didn’t do that. Chelsea and etan started to give being together a chance. Then word got out about Chelsea and Ethan and photographers were all over the place. I really liked this book I loved Ethan and Chelsea together. I also liked how ethan and Chelsea took things slow and built a relationship before sleeping together- Chelsea was stubborn on that. I liked the plot and the pace. I advise you to read the other in this series first to pull everything together. I liked how Chelsea put Ethan first like no one had ever done before. This was a pleasant enjoyable read. I loved the character sand the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.
the nashville dreams series continues with can't let her go, where ethan walker finds that as much as chelsea harris is everything he says he doesn't want in a woman she's his dream come true. she's a true star in a town full of them. and ethan has some serious issues coming in second to celebrity.
from the get-go their relationship is fraught. because too many people in ethan's life have approached him to catch a shard of his parent's star power. while chelsea plans to use it for good, at first she just another in a long line of takers. but chelsea proves that she's more than a bubble-headed celebtriy. she's grounded in real in ways he's never seen. not even his parents were ever that real. so he doesn't trust it and doesn't know how to handle it. and chelsea struggles with keeping ethan away from the trappings of her fame.
she knows all to well that he doesn't want it. but performing and singing is her calling. and while he doesn't feel the need to share his incredible talent with the world, for her it's been a dream. and it's part of who she is. he can't just reject it entirely without rejecting her on some basic level.
when it comes down to it, ethan will need to find a way to make it work for him. celebrity and the press are not the evil he's built up in his head—with good reason because his parents and their death really created some visitble scars that will never truly fade. and here chelsea can give a little too. she can give more to ethan than she gives to her fans. she can put him first in a way that no one else in his life ever has, and that's probably enough to make him love her forever.
i love the setting here and i love that we get some updates on savannah and brad, and i can't wait to see what book three in this series has in store for russ.

This was my first title by this author, and it is not going to be my last. I enjoyed the characters, I thought they were realistic and they seemed like people. The writing was even and there were not any places where I felt the story was too rushed or too slow. There were a lot of references to a previous title, which did at points make me feel like there was info I didn't totally have, but this was filled in enough that I did not feel that I was lost.
Ethan is the son of country music legends, and briefly was a teen star (or on the road to being one). Chelsea is putting together a duets album with herself and the children of former stars. She can't understand why he says no, repeatedly, to her requests...so she decides to enlist his assistance in purchasing and boarding a horse. Is it a ploy? Yes. Does he see through it? Also yes. But, it gets them together and in one another's space...and the sparks fly.
I enjoyed this title. I really liked Ethan, and I really understood the reasons he was so reluctant to have anything to do with the press or the spotlight, and why a relationship with Chelsea would be tough for him, no matter how much he cared.
I’m not normally into music romance books but this one called to me and I had to give this book ago. I was not disappointed at all. It was such a pleasure to read and a really enjoyable one too. Has a great storyline, awesome characters that you really like and want them to get there HEA and the romance that grows between them as they go on there journey on the book. Overall a really fabulous book that I truly enjoyed reading every minute of. I would recommend giving this book and author ago as I did and I don’t regret it one bit. Will be trying more books by this author in the future.
This is the first book I have read in the series and I cannot wait to read the rest.I really enjoyed Ethan's book he is the son of music legends whose death he blames on the paparazzi and wants nothing to do fame and fortune so when Chelsea asks him to sing a duet with her for charity it is an outright no never going to happen. But she is not going to give up this album for charity means so much to her and eventually, he changes his mind.I just loved watching their relationship develop this was such a sweet romance
The 2nd installment in the Nashville Dreams series does not disappoint!! Chelsea Harris is definitely more than meets the eye. She comes into Ethan Walker's life asking for the one favor he is not willing to grant. The ups and downs in the story really dig deeper into what makes these two tick and where they are today. While it is the 2nd in the series, I think you can read as a standalone.

I love celebrity/musician romances. This contemporary romance by Sandy James did not disappoint. I love Ethan and Chelsea as a couple. This story really spotlighted the stress that celebrities face when dealing with the information hungry press and public. I enjoyed their circle of friends. I plan to go back and read book 1 and continue with this series. Thanks to Forever Yours Publishing for sending me an ARC of this book via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
