Are you struggling to have daily devotions as a couple? Here’s a solid choice, OUR BEST LIFE TOGETHER, from Joel and Victoria Osteen who pastor one of the largest churches in the U.S. As they write in the introduction, “Every day you should be encouraging each other, building each other , challenging each other to reach for new heights. If you do your part by being kind, respecting each other, treating each other the way you want to be treated, God will do His part, and you can live in love!” (Page 5)
Each devotion has a simple yet effective format. It begins with an interesting title, then a short verse or two from the Bible, followed with a pointed devotional and ending with a brief relevant prayer.
For example, the devotion called “Overlook It” includes these words, “Love makes for allowances for other people’s weaknesses. Love overlooks a wrong done to it. You have to rise above these petty things that are pulling you apart. Give each other room to have a bad day. Life is too short for you to live at odds, being contentious, arguing over things that don’t matter. Some people have to have the last word in every argument. Don’t be so hardheaded Let it go. Don’t waste your valuable time on something that’s not moving you toward your purpose.” (Page 22)
I found these devotions engaging and interesting and well-written. I highly recommend OUR BEST LIFE TOGETHER. It is a valuable resource for any couple—whether you are newly married or have been married many years.
He looks like a sheep, but underneath, he is a ravenous wolf! It's all phony. He is deceiving God's people. He starts out with pretending to pursue God, and end with his real goal for you- focus on success. Read KUNDALINI WARNING - Are False Spirits Invading the Church? By Andrew Strom. God showed me that Word of Faith is operated by the Kundalini spirit. Joel is a false prophet. This is a powerful spirit. It's a test. Read your bible. Kundalini twists the Word of God. Word of Faith tells you you need to tithe in order to be blessed. But where should you tithe? Is it definitely Joel? Do you believe in the fruits of their ministry? So he can get even richer while you stay poor. Does he not know what he is telling you is a lie? Or it's always God's will to give you wealth and health. What about Job? His story is our story, that we will lose things in this life. Doesn't mean we don't have enough faith. Read Jesus Goes To McDonald's by Luiz Alexandre Solano Rossi. Having a great life is a lie. When you become a Christian, the devil is after you. Everyday a battle, not a cushion. Or not to question those in positions of spiritual power. Yet Paul called out false teachers! Word of Faith movement is a bunch of garbage. If you accept it, you will, like me, have years of struggle, where you are looking for a "sign" God is with you. The only sign is His Word! They talk about not being "religious," as if an empty undiscerning mind ready to accept false doctrines is the Way to accept God. You must hold on to the true doctrine. Matthew 24:10-13 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. Once saved, always saved is a lie. To be saved, you must confess you are a sinner, that you put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior and will submit to Him in all things, including every part of your life, and with His help, that you will stop sinning. The deception here is really great! The manipulation is subtle, but with the Holy Spirit's help you can detect it. Truth mixed with lies is LIES. The positivity, the blabbing out promises without faith, the holding God hostage- Sure you can hold God hostage, but will He really find no falsehood among you? Joel Osteen is bewitching you, and lulling you to sleep. Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB4QF.... See if these teachings really stand up to the light of the Word of God.
Our Best Life Together: A Daily Devotional For Couples by Joel & Victoria Osteen is full of scripture, lessons, and prayers designed to bring you closer together - both as a couple and in your relationship with God.
Covering topics ranging from child rearing to financial prosperity, this book utilizes personal examples and Biblical stories to provide five readings a week for a full year of physical, spiritual, and emotional growth and reflection. I really appreciate that each day ends in a personal prayer that compliments that day's lesson and helps you to keep Jesus in focus as you work on expanding and improving your relationship.
Declaration pages of relationship affirmations are scattered throughout the book and can provide a quick a potent reminder of the goals and assets along your journey as a couple. Overall, I'd recommend this book for couples seeking to promote their bond with each other while getting closer to God. It would also be okay to read it in solitude, with the intention of utilizing the insights gained in your personal relationship while growing in communion with God.
I would not recommend this book for anyone enduring a marriage of intense or profound hardship, or suffering from an unequally yoked marriage where their partner is an adversary in their walk with God. This is not a book for couples that find themselves at odds with each other frequently, or those looking for ways to salvage a seemingly broken relationship. For those relationships that are already struggling in these ways, I fear that this book may just lead to more strife and personal feelings of rejection or inadequacy.
Overall, I believe this could be a great asset when used a tool to improve and connect in an already blossoming relationship. 4/5 stars.

Spring and Summer weddings are just around the corner.
Let me start by saying that I absolutely adore devotional books, so I was excited to have the opportunity to review the upcoming release from Joel and Victoria Osteen, which is geared toward couples. While I’ve read many devotional books, this is the first I’ve read with a focus on supporting, growing, and encouraging relationships.
Each reading contains a title, Bible verse, short devotion, and a closing prayer. They are short and only take a few minutes to get through, but they are perfect to use at the beginning or end of a day. It is structured to provide couple the opportunity to do a daily reading five days a week. “We Declare” statements are placed evenly throughout the book. These provide added inspiration and encouragement for couples.
If you are looking for something that will inspire you and your spouse to live a life of victory together this devotional might do the trick. I think if you took just a few minutes a day and read these short devotionals it could have a lasting impact on your marriage.
I haven’t tried it, yet but would like to. It won’t take long but could make a big difference.
A copy this book was given to me through Netgalley.com. All opinions are my own.
Very thorough and thoughtful daily devotion for couples or lovers. I found it handled many topics like fighting and lack of peace that were very useful to improve relationship, faith in God and God using that couple for His glory. Verses were well picked, thoughts spot-on and subtle and prayers very good too. Helped heal pain of bad relationship.
Our Best Life Together by Joel & Victoria Osteen was an Encouraging, Fortifying Devotional filled with scriptures, and insight into the promises of God!
The time that was spent reading, and studying the devotionals, and the accompanying scriptures, has been a blessing on our lives.
I have the audiobook. Victoria reads this daily devotion for 365 days. It has blessed me over and over with spoken words of faith based on scripture! Wonderful and uplifting
As a newly engaged couple, I started this bible study with an extremely open mind. I also invited my fiancé to set aside a time when we could read it together. To my surprise, he agreed and was shocked by how much we both learned by taking a little time every day in devotion. Thanks to Joel and Victoria we have learned to be the people that the Bible says that we are. To be the strength in each others weakness and that alone has brought us closer together. You would be surprised how much more in love we've become and how much more we appreciate each other. This is a fantastic book for busy couples, each day is short yet in depth enough to give us something to think on during our day.
Really good simple devotional for couples. We loved that each days reading was really short. I also liked that there is a simple prayer for each day, and a scripture for us to focus on.
Don't expect this to be an in depth bible study. It is a great way to connect quickly with your spouse and set a good tone for the day.
I hate the cover though. I certainly wouldn't want it sitting on my bedside table all the time. lol
