I'm not quite sure how this book ended up on my kindle, I'm guessing it was either a competition win or a freebie. However it got there, I'm glad it did. Whilst age-play books are not top of my kink list and I don't actively search them out, I did enjoy this one.
Now the plot hinges on a very unbelievable scenario and you will have to 'get over that' in order to enjoy the rest of the book. Clearly, despite some initial reservations, a well written book, engaging characters and pleasant story helped me do so.
The whole 'secret government programme' idea had quite a few holes in it's plausibility, not least of which was how the hell they knew their 'targets' would even enjoy age-play. BUT despite that if you enjoy age-play romance then this is a lovely example of the genre.
Personally I really enjoyed how Lilly and Charles' dynamic grew and altered as their emotional connection developed. Lilly needed time as a little but not 100% of her time, and that is fine. For me it demonstrated a more realistic relationship, as well as making removing the 'icky factor' of a Daddy having sexual feelings for a little.
The book is written first person and from both perspectives, so you do get to 'know' both characters. I did feel more of a connection to Lilly, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed watching her embrace being a little girl again and the joy she got from it. Charles wasn't quite as strongly developed, I felt he lacked emotional depth, though he was a consistent and likeable hero.
This is a new-to-me author and I would read more work by them.
