His Little Captive

Rate this book
After waking up in a room she doesn't recognize, twenty-year-old college student Lilly Parkins discovers that she has been placed in a secret government program for adult women who would benefit from living under the care of a firm but loving daddy. For the next few months, all of her needs will be provided for so that she can experience the childhood she never had.

Having been orphaned years ago, Lilly has grown accustomed to depending only on herself, and she is none too pleased by this arrangement, but when she meets her new daddy, Charles Davidson, she cannot help being impressed by the handsome, kindhearted businessman.

Charles makes it clear that while he will never be harsh with Lilly, he will be stern if her behavior makes it necessary, and when she speaks rudely to him he bares her bottom and spanks her soundly. In spite of his strict discipline, however, Lilly delights in Charles' care and attention, and she soon finds herself longing for him to take her in his arms and make her his. But when her time in the program comes to an end, will it mean saying goodbye to him forever?

Publisher's His Little Captive includes spankings, sexual scenes, and age play. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

So, Meredith O'Reilly has taken the very familiar path traveled by far too many of these genre writers: she started off with books that clearly feature consent (Little Samantha's Choice), and descended to non-consent, even kidnapping. Just out of curiosity, authors: do you do this to stand out in a crowded field? Inquiring minds want to know.

So, this "secret government agency" kidnaps a young woman and regresses her without her consent. When she -- like any reasonable person would -- objects, she is punished. Note to authors: Please stop writing scenes where people are punished for objecting to what is ILLEGAL (such as kidnapping, rape, and assault; I'm not saying the sex was against her will). In addition to this, this agency puts her education at risk since, if she doesn't cooperate, she can't return to college. She held out for a bit; I wish she had held out the whole time or tried to swim back to civilization. It was impossible to have any respect for Charles for his part in all this. Since I wasn't invested in the couple, I wasn't invested in the book.

Note to other reviewers: At least one of you who has given this book 5 stars is a writer in this industry. Now, I get that you're fans of the genre you write in and I also get that you want to support fellow writers, but you owe it to readers to self-identify. The fact that many of you consistently leave 5 star reviews on each other's books is a huge conflict of interest since you often host each other on your blogs (free advertising) and these 5 stars simply add to the book's average. Your reviews encourage potential readers to spend money and, quite frankly, no reader can be sure your reviews aren't biased

The plot had potential but I really hated the way it was handled. The book is written like a romance but it feels more like a Stockholm syndrome story. She was forced into a situation (by kidnapping!!!) that was supposed to be for her own good ( are you kidding me?) but for half the book caused her anxiety and severe panic attacks to the point she threw up. How am I supposed to think that she's enjoying this? Sure by the end of the book she found some joy but it didn't feel realistic or healthy. I honestly wonder, would she accept everything if Charles wasn't hot and super rich? It's clear she has low self esteem and abandonment issues of course she would attach to the first guy who was kind of nice to her and showed her attraction. I understand this is fantasy and shouldn't be taken too seriously but it made feel gross and uncomfortable. Consent people! It's important! The only reason I finished the book is because I was on the train and had nothing else to listen. I've liked some books by the author and hated a couple.

I’ve read quite a few, okay I’ve read all, of O’Reilly’s books and I have enjoyed them. This book though, while I enjoyed it, I just wasn’t as sold on it as I have been with O’Reilly’s other books.

Lilly and Charles were both good characters, but I just couldn’t help but feel like Lilly wasn’t really into the age play part of the reason she was on the island. As the story progressed, it seemed like they were spending more time as a couple as opposed to the purpose of the island.

As I was reading, you could see as Lilly was becoming more comfortable with herself and understanding what she wanted, and wasn’t afraid to ask for it.

I do think that this is a good start to a series, if that was O’Reilly’s plan. I loved the idea of the island, and what its purpose was for.

Overall, a good read but not an amazing read for me personally.

Just okay

I love this author, however I just couldn't get into the story. Couldn't get over the beginning. How easily they just glossed over the kidnapping and the reasoning behind it didn't seem believable to me.

I received a free audible code from the author for this book.

While this story does start out with a kidnapping of the female, she is given a choice as to whether she will age regress or not. She is also given a choice as to what age she would like to be, something I don't see very often in ddlg stories. It was a nice change of pace to not have the little forced into diapers and allow the little a bit of autonomy. The other thing that was nice to see in this type of story, there was no rush into the sexual relations part.

The story was a bit slow and it would have been nice for the characters to have more interaction with the other people on the island. And possibly add a bit more action to the story.

There are a few parts of the story told from the male POV but not many. The narration is done solely by a female and I would much rather have had the male POV read by a male. The narrator had a good voice for the main female, however all the other voices were strange. Her voice for the main male made him sound robotic, and I enjoyed him less than I might have otherwise. And some of the other voices for the minor characters were just strange. Over all I was not so much a fan of hers.

This story was okay, not entirely my cup of tea I guess. There were parts that were okay and then parts that just kinda pulled me out of the story. The entire premise of the story is definitely far fetched and I’ve read other books that are far fetched and not entirely realistic but there was just something with this one that I had a hard time falling into the rules of the world created. Most of the story was good, well written and flowed smoothly but at times things felt stiff for me. Like I said there really wasn’t much that was wrong or bad about the story just not entirely my cup of tea and i just didn’t connect to the story and characters as well. I kept getting pulled out. And with the premise of the age play and sex and the characters not wanting to cross that line while in the age play roles, there wasn’t a clear enough way to always tell when they were in those mindsets and when they weren’t.

Lilly was an orphaned child given the ability to relive a time in her life that she missed. Charles will be her daddy and take care of her for 3 months. This was a great story to be inside the mind of a little. How they may pick an age to regress to, or how they feel about being cared for, or even why they like to be a little. As Lilly explores her missed childhood, she finds comfort and love with Charles. I enjoyed following the growth of this relationship. The story surprised me, and I did not expect that outcome.

Courtney Hampton has an easy to listen to voice. She performed Lilly as I would have imagined. Courtney was able to bring out all of Lilly's insecurities, struggles and even her defiance to make Lilly real. I enjoyed this narration and look forward to more by Courtney Hampton.

I loved listening to this book, it’s definitely is worth the time. I found it to be very funny, self awareness and never wanted it to end. Lily has been a chance to relieve her child, to what she wished it could be. I must admit at first I was not into this story, but then as I continued it got good. It turned out to be a very good storyline. Lily was a handful, but once she found her footing everything fell in place. I love how Charles and Liliy’s relationship flowed. Even when she found out about his secret. It got more interesting, I have to say it surprised me, but I loved it. It took they story to another level flawlessly. Most of all I loved the ending, it took my breath away.

I loved the premise of this novel! I enjoyed digging deep into Lilly's struggle with her new situation as well as Charles's patience with his ward's reluctance. A few well deserved spankings were also appreciated! ;)

Lilly and Charles

This a very good, sweet, well written DD/lg romance. It is an interesting story with plenty of heart. I like the concept of the children of fallen service members are given a second chance at childhood. I hope you will enjoy this story as much as I did.

Good story. His Little Captive.

Imagine waking up in a totally different place. Finding out that you can't leave, not understanding what is expected of you. Scary, huh? That's the basic premise of this story, with positive things finally happening.

awesome

The attraction between Lilly and Charles stands out clearly since they meet. The story line is good. She throws tantrums before deciding to enter into the little’s world. Narrator was clear with good diction.

I'm not quite sure how this book ended up on my kindle, I'm guessing it was either a competition win or a freebie. However it got there, I'm glad it did. Whilst age-play books are not top of my kink list and I don't actively search them out, I did enjoy this one.

Now the plot hinges on a very unbelievable scenario and you will have to 'get over that' in order to enjoy the rest of the book. Clearly, despite some initial reservations, a well written book, engaging characters and pleasant story helped me do so.

The whole 'secret government programme' idea had quite a few holes in it's plausibility, not least of which was how the hell they knew their 'targets' would even enjoy age-play. BUT despite that if you enjoy age-play romance then this is a lovely example of the genre.

Personally I really enjoyed how Lilly and Charles' dynamic grew and altered as their emotional connection developed. Lilly needed time as a little but not 100% of her time, and that is fine. For me it demonstrated a more realistic relationship, as well as making removing the 'icky factor' of a Daddy having sexual feelings for a little.

The book is written first person and from both perspectives, so you do get to 'know' both characters. I did feel more of a connection to Lilly, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed watching her embrace being a little girl again and the joy she got from it. Charles wasn't quite as strongly developed, I felt he lacked emotional depth, though he was a consistent and likeable hero.

This is a new-to-me author and I would read more work by them.
