Harper must deal with two high-profile death cases. One involves her beloved friend, Stephen. The other involves an underprivileged black youth accused of murdering an undercover cop.

Harper is assigned another high-profile case, as 18-year-old Darnell Williams is accused of killing a Kansas City Police Officer. At first, this seems like just another dead dog case that Harper would end up pleading out. But as she gets deeper into the specifics of the case, she realizes that she has stumbled into something much, much bigger. She ends up being warned to back off, or face disciplinary charges of her own. But the more she is brushed back, the more intrigued she becomes. She becomes convinced that a true injustice is being perpetrated on her client and she must fight the system to prove his innocence.

Just okay.

From the beginning it was very obvious who was the guilty one. Story has many holes, needed good editing, parts was dragged on and on. Harper has a bleeding heart, stands for good cause.

Follow this awesome murder series written by Rachel Sinclair. Harper Ross is an attorney and gets a call that an underprivileged black boy Darnell Williams is charged in the murder of a police officer. Darnell is found over the body of a Kansas City police officer but swears he didn't kill him. Harper believes him, but has to prove it. As Harper is investigating the murder, a 13 year old girl named Alaina is also murdered. Officer Cooper investigates the murders and Harper isn't feeling right about any of this. As Harper digs deeper, she gets warned to back off and let things go, but she can't! Follow this murder, mystery that is full of twists and turns and will definitely keep you guessing until the end. Is Darnell innocent or is he guilty? Will Harper find the real killer? Don't miss this 5 star read!

Ahhhh Harper

What can I say......Harper is just someone who cares and has the heart and skill set to make a difference. This series is refreshing because it’s not all about the money. Harper vindicates those that have been wrong. The book makes you feel like you are watching it unfold right in front of you. This world we live in gets it wrong a lot of times. But, fortunately there are individuals like Harper out there. Kind of like encouragement for a lot of avid readers. You will bond with her characters. If you have not read the prior books in the series please consider reading or listening to them. This is a refreshing series. I can hardly wait to read the next book. Wait I forgot the best part for us reader junkies - yes, I’m one this series is on kindle unlimited

Harper Ross does it again this one is a very fast-moving case with a Twist as always. Harper always seems to be caught up in the middle of everything and I would like to see her find a little more happiness in her personal life with Axel and the girls. I can't wait for the next leg of this series.

This one I really enjoyed!

Sinclair was at the top of her game with this book. The plotline was well defined from the beginning, and her characters were every day people who find themselves intertwined in a bad cop's life. Great read.
