Tired of living in the city, Rachel finally gets offered the job of her dreams and moves to start a new life in Colorado Springs. Sworn off men, she’s not overly thrilled when she discovers her neighbor is not only a very handsome, but a very broody and arrogant man.
A man that, at first, drives her absolutely crazy with his gruff attitude. Determined not to let it affect her, Rachel unleashes her wild spirit on her poor, unsuspecting neighbor, and a fire is ignited between them.
She quickly realizes, he’s a man with secrets. A man with a dark past. A man that drives her absolutely crazy to the point of no return. Yet she can’t seem to stay away from him. Her curiosity gets the better of her, and her wild spirit brings them toe to toe more than once.
And brings a passion to life, neither of them were expecting.
*Wild Child is a short, standalone novel. It contains adult themes.*
I really loved the concept of the story. It could've been great if it wasn't for minor (for me huge) things.
I don't like reading about manwhores. At all. But it seems impossible not to. Whatever. It's not a problem per se, it's just that when I really like a hero and then I have to read about him being a manwhore and doing things/stuff with thousands of other women, I can't help but be disappointed. There is nothing romantic about this concept. At least for me.
So then there is Steph, the neighbor and for a year sex partner of the hero. Nothing more. She comes over his house, they have sex in his bedroom (while his son is in the house) and then he kicks her out. There isn't any attachment from the hero, no talking about stuff, nothing. Steph doesn't like it, want's to get to know him, but he wouldn't budge, he's closed off. At this point I would think that Stpeh would stop going over to him because of this shitty treatment, but no. This woman continues to torture herself. Woman, go pull on your big girl pants and leave him in the dust. He's not worth it and she deserves way better than that.
The heroine was great, I liked her a lot. She was sassy, outspoken and not afraid of anything (well except for these bugs and spiders). I loved her relationship with the heroes son. That was totally cute and was the highlight of this book.
I liked the action of this story, the concept was really great. But my main problem was probably that I didn't feel the connection between the hero and the heroine. I saw a little bit of her falling for him, but other way around? Nothing. It's like he only really sees her after the "incident" and then he declares his want for her forever. But no "I love You"'s. I looked. None. Bummer.
But, we get to know Marlie and that was awesome. Her character will be the heroine in "The Watcher" coming out at the end of this month. I can't wait to read this one. I really look forward to it.
I liked the heroine. I could have got past the sex buddy neighbour but for the hero to kiss her then go back and sleep with the blonde and kiss her in front of heroine was completely a form of cheating in my eyes. Total douche bag.

The only thing I liked about this book was that it's a quick, easy read. Everything from the characters to the storyline was so cliché. So unoriginal. It also felt too busy. I know it's a short story and things move fast but there was another woman, a jerk of a boss, a crazy stalker. It was too much. I expect better from Jewel. Not good.
My only complaint about this book was it was too short ... I did enjoy it and loved the rough dirty talking slade .. for me it was similar to Kristen Ashley books maybe that's why I enjoyed it .. Rachel was tough and smart mouthed but did have a soft side .. I just wish it had been longer ..
Rachel and Slade meet when she moves to Colorado Springs and rents a cabin next to Slade's to start her life over. They do not have the best of meetings and she decides that he is a jerk right off the bat. Rachel was pretty hard for me to connect to. She would claim that people needed to have proper manners but, what she really meant, was she wanted them to act how she thought they should act. Getting involved in Slade's and Steph's fight was ridiculous and she should have taken her own advice and acted like she was taught some manners along the way. Her constant poking him in the chest was so juvenile that I wanted to reach into the book and smack her. She claimed to want to be treated with respect, yet had no issue going off on him without a second thought. Barging in on his party and carrying on the way she did was not in any way the actions of someone other than a crazy person. Going over and asking for the music to be turned down would have been the adult way to handle it and then, if he didn't respond, then she could have called the cops. Her constant whining about her job and the lack of respect she felt other people had toward her was grating by the end. She needed to be an adult and realize that it was work and not a play date she was on. Her boss may have been a jerk but she could have quit and found another job. Instead she acted like the world was going to end. Not a fan of that at all. Was never clear how old she was or Slade, but she was definitely old enough to act like an adult. The ending was okay and it was nice she stepped up, but I didn't really feel the connection between her and Slade. Think it would have helped if it was told in dual POV's because I was tired of being stuck in her head by the end.
another fabulous read from the amazing Bella Jewel <3!! I don't think this woman can do no wrong.. everything she touches is a masterpiece.. We meet Rachael as she is moving to Colorado Springs for a new job and fresh start.. she rents a cabin and that is where we meet the delicious Slade.. and who for forget that sweet sweet boy Ryder!! Now of course these two don't hit it off at first... and you know what they say about first impressions.. Slade is somewhat of a A$$ but as you read on you will grow to understand just why he is the way he is.. especially when it comes to Ryder.. I loved how the relationship between Slade and Rachael grew.. they took it slow.. and eventually it just fell into place..
Rachel leaves the city and moves to a cabin in Colorado Springs, and meets Ryder a little boy who lives next door with his uncle. The minute Rachel and Slade meet, they do not get along but she tries to be civil with him because of Ryder. Slade is a brooding guy, who is overprotective of his nephew but he sees something in Rachel. She stands up to him and doesn't take his shit. Little by little, they start talking and becoming friends until they finally take that step. Rachel, Slade and Ryder made a nice little family even if they had to go through some stuff to make there intact. It was a short read and I'm curious about Marlie.
This book was insanely short! The word count wasn't on amazon and now I know why! I think the book has a great plot and the characters were likable especially Ryder! What a little cutie🤗 The only thing that bothered me was Slade was sleeping with the neighbor (Steph) at the time and when Rachael moved, she became friends with her but then had a relationship with Slade. I think it was a little weird, it would have been better if the other fwb was someone else. I also wanted the epilogue to be better and not 6 months out. I would recommend this book for a quick read

This is a great short read hooks you from the start sweet sassy city girl to the moves to the mountain's to start a new career only to meet her neighbour won s rude and ruff a round the edges but seem to push all her button and her his the fire burned hot between these two a must read
Historia z dużym potencjałem, szkoda tylko, że z niewykorzystanym. Dwieście stron to jednak trochę za mało, by w pełni rozwinąć wszystkie rozpoczęte wątki. Co więcej, brakowało mi też wyraźniejszego zarysowania uczuć między głównymi bohaterami. Trochę za szybko wszystko się potoczyło, ale książka w sumie ma zaledwie 200 stron, więc nie jestem zaskoczona.
A short standalone novel. A city girl trying to settle down in the mountains and a mountain man keeping his secrets close to his heart. I loved the bickering between Slade and Rachel but the story was just too short and quick for my taste.
Had a hard time enjoying it. The heroine makes a stupid choice in her love life. Cares more about hotness that substance or facts, head first into love. It made me dislike her greatly. And her female neighbor feel complete unrealistic. And character personalities do like complete 180 in a day.
This was a sweet read. Feel into the story and didn't surface until the end. Just a little bit of angst, little bit of sexy hotness and a whole lot of snarky attitude with a sweet HEA. GOOD READ.
Once again Bella Jewel produces a brilliant tale of love pain and the idea that a damaged soul can be fixed with the right kind of sass and love. I am never disappointed with any of her stories.
Rachel moves to the countryside as she has just landed her dream job. Like anything change is scary but not as scary as her mean neighbour Slade. He is rude as hell but can she break him down?
