Is there anything better than outsmarting your enemies? The Capybara, by using his smarts, finds a way to escape his foes by appealing to their stomachs. He also shows that by helping others, even those who want to eat him, you can be rewarded. From my experience kids love animals and are fascinated by them. They have a far better imagination than I do and use it when reading books or having them read to them. If I can spark their imagination and teach them to use their brains and kindness then I have succeeded.
This is a fantastic book! I love that it uses real animals with real animal qualities (not cartoon-ish or anthropomorphic). The rhyming phrases make it even more fun for kids. I highly recommend this book for young children!
