Ashley Donovan is a woman set in her ways, but compared to a Nayanor, she's apparently incredibly adaptive. Plucked from her ship like many others, Ashley thought her life to be over, but as destiny would have it, it was only about to begin. Granted, it's with an incredibly infuriating and sexy raider lord whose understanding of common decency and the concept of civil discussion leaves something to be desired. That just means she has to speak up louder, right?
Zar does what any sensible Nayanor in need of a mate does - he raids Terra until he finds the perfect woman. Except his perfect woman doesn't bow her head and follow orders as she's told like everybody else's. Instead, she seems to be an express ticket to get his head cut off his shoulders with her insolence, her sharp tongue and her opinions that are not only dangerous, but blasphemous to the warlord who is the only hope for Zar's clan's survival. But gods is she irresistible when doing all of that...
So what's it going to be? His woman, his clan, or his loyalty? Something's got to give and it won't be Zar or Ashley.
Alien Raiders' Brides is a series of full-length fated mates scifi alien romances with a guaranteed HEA, no cheating and plenty of impossible Alphas!
Vi's a small-town girl with big city dreams. Born and raised in Texas, she's always had her eyes to the stars. Telling stories is her passion and when she can mix a whole lot of steam with equal parts sexy alien hunks, well, things just get that much better, right?
An ardent Rangers fan, she believes all men should come in a yummy beefcake package and that's exactly the kind of heroes she prefers. A curvy woman herself, Vi likes to write heroines as sassy as she is.
She likes indulging in a little wine and a little chocolate, but her first love int life is writing and everything else follows second.
I understand these stories are written with sex in mind. Still, at least the basic conventions of a novel should be respected. It doesn't happen that often in futuristic erotic romance unfortunately. But what I really hate is the total lack of respect towards your reader when you pretend to write romance, but there's no love. Be honest write erotica (very, very difficult I know). Many authors fake it with a mate bond, that is bad enough. But here you don't get even that. I could not read the sex scenes as I found them ugly and fake. Unless you suffer from a split personality disorder, that's it. A woman kidnapped to slavery and whoredom doesn't lust while fearing for her life, I assure you. Above all when that same woman has a brain that tells her no. (It's called madness in some circles...)
The author could have made a great love story starting from her basic idea. But she decided to trash it all with plenty of sex from the start.
But if you don't buy the idea, everything gets really ugly really soon. I stopped reading quite early, than I tried again. But at 56% I could not stomach it anymore.
I can't even imagine having sex with a race intent on breeding. Full stop. Your happiness, health, mental well being? Unimportant. *You* aren't important.
I'm sorry Ms Voxley. You completely missed the mark.
I will likely like the next book in this series much better but I could not get over the cultural habits of the aliens of slaying all the men and then taking the women.
The heroine was very clear that the abductions were wrong and there was likely a better way to deal with the mars needs women issue but it never seemed to come up that the killing of all the men was just awful.
So, I could never settle in and care. I need a lot of suspension of disbelief to enjoy this trope which is normally not a problem for me but this one did not work.
It must have been boring in the Arctic for the heroine to lust after her kidnapper.
This story fell way short of a romance, it was personal sex slave erotica. The H takes her freedom, belittles her, and treats her like a joke, always chuckling at her objections.
Maybe the next one will be better if the culture changes, if women are better treated.
Let me start this by explaining what I have always loved about Vi Voxley's works. There are abductions, or kidnapping, which is always a very tricky subject for me, (because done wrong they are nothing more than slave trafficking, which is never ever romantic), but Ms Voxley managed to make them romantic because there is always a choice, the h, until this story, always had the choice to go or stay, she might have been held against her will at the beginning, Diego held Isolde while she was in danger, Braen held Naima again for her own sake, in those cases I saw the love develop and I cheered it on because those women were given the basic human right to choose to be with the men they are chosen by. In fact I loved the fact that they were given the choice despite the pain it would cause the H, it showed that he respected and loved her above everything, even his own instinct. Then there was the respect, Nadar came from a race of homicidal neanderthals that had no place for women, and no respect for them, but from the very first moment he showed Mara so much respect, and love that I was completely dragged into that story and fully on team Corgan all the way. Octava is another planet that like Zar's planet was desperate to find their mates, they too lived in a dangerous region of space and yet they did not sink to human trafficking and slavery to save their race, and while I had a few problems with VV's H's in those stories, I admit they are far more respectful and loving than this story.
Vi Voxley's strong writing, template story (some spoilers)
As usual, Vi's writing is quite strong, but I find it hard to understand why the need to populate the galaxy with yet another gender-handicapped race of warriors with godly physiques and cavemen mentalities. Don't get me wrong, one or two races of he-men who look just like really well-built humans (with insignificant differences) in macho societies on steroids... it's nice to read about. I liked the fleshed out Brion society, the larger context and the battles and dangers they were facing. They're page turners even after, say, the fifth installment. The Palian Paladin book was a nail biter. The Corgan series started to squeak a bit but still had many high points. The heroines were still reasonably easy to understand, still likable and so were the heroes. But after that, it started to suffer from writer/reader fatigue. There was the Octava series, and it felt like I was reading another writer. So, I was hoping for a return to Vi Voxley's form from the Brion phase when the characters and the story were pinning you in one place under some kind of tensed spell. Instead, the Alien Raiders characters are unlikable, no matter how you spin it. So, I'm torn. As a reader, I adored most of Vi's books and I'm grateful for hours of pure enjoyment, suspense and pleasure, for interesting, powerful characters of both sexes. It's confusing seeing lesser quality characters and their equally matched stories clamoring for the attention of a good, imaginative writer. I really wish Vi would "break state", rest a bit, and let the great characters who dwell inside her come through, whether in the Brion universe (God knows, there's so much more going on there to explore) or in a completely new and dazzling world, worthy of such a talented and otherwise compelling writer.
I liked this book because out of all the hundreds of sci-fi erotic novels I have read, this one has the heroine, Ashley💋, talking to Zar🐺🍌🌋💪🔪🔫, the Harbinger from Luminos🌍, and trying to make him see how wrong he is to abduct women. Usually the abducted woman just accepts her captor and her new situation with little fuss. In this book, Ashley💋 even defies Zar👹🍌🌋💪🔫🔪 and gets the other three abducted women into an escape pod and sends it into space, but without her. She knows her chance of getting back to 🌎earth are gone now, and she must live with the wrath of Zar.👹🍌🌋🔫🔪💪 Zar🐺 is the Harbinger, the General, the ultimate Warrior🔫🔪💪, with ultimate sexual prowess🍌🌋💪✋, and he knows Ashley💋 is his fated mate👰 from the moment he saw her in the wreckage of the arctic station the Nayanors attacked and raided. Ashley💋💃 may be fated mate👰, and both of them are wildly drawn to each other, but she knew she had to help the other women escape. She is fighting the bond💍 although she knows it's a useless effort. Zar👹🍌🌋🔫🔪💪 has her number! It's a game to him. Ashley💋💃 tries to reason with Zar👹🍌🌋🔫🔪💪. His people, the Nayanors are all men, all warriors🔫🔪💪, all extremely tall, jacked💪, and unbelievably handsome and protective. What's not to like? She tells him many women would like to be their mates. There is no reason to abduct human women when they would go willingly. Zar👹🍌🌋🔫🔪💪 says they abduct because they are warriors🔫🔪💪 and that is their way, and will always be their way. So much for trying to reason with him! When Zar's ship traverses back through the wormhole they used to reach 🌎earth, Ashley💋 realizes Her dream of any rescue for her is over and she will yield to her desires for the alien man god, Zar👹🍌🌋🔥🔪🔫. Lots of hot🔥 alpha male alien sex🍌🌋✋🔥action in this book! Zar👹🍌🌋✋ is an unbelievable stud🐎🐎🐎 and he absolutely knows it! YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
Guess I read a different book than some of the other reviewers read! I don't understand the one 🌟 review. The book is well written and edited. Warning! Don't read this book or any other that has ABDUCTION in the title if you are all about vanilla romance.
This was another wonderful multi adventure book by one of the very BEST of Scifi authors. I've read all of her books to date except this new series. It promises to be just as good as the Brions and Corgons. It takes place in the same world with the Palians, etc.
The Nayanors come to Earth or terra from out of nowhere it appears. They target a location with a large number of young females and capture every last one of them. Most of the males trying to save them or just fight the Nayanors are killed. The home planet of the Nayanors is Luminos. It is a brutal place with a winter that is so brutal that it kills any left out in it. They huddle together in a vast fortress call the Black Hall, an enormous structure left behind by some previous even larger race. The Nayanors are not small. They generally stand over 7 feet tall and are packed with muscle, but can move with lightning speed. Vi Voxley's world-building is a hallmark of her excellent writing style. It becomes easy to picture everything that happens.
It begins with Ashley and her friend Felicia at an Arctic science station. She suddenly spots the fast moving sleek Nayanor space ship and its smaller raiders. She gives the alert but knows that it will do little good. She barricades Felicia and herself into a space she hopes is too small for the huge warriors and the Harbinger, their fiercest leader. Unfortunately she puts up such a struggle that the Harbinger himself comes after the two of them. She is no match for his skills. The only problem is that he immediately recognizes her as his fated one.
Captured, she does not suddenly become docile or weeping and wailing like most of the 2012 other females taken. She puts up a good fight and even manages to send 3 of her fellow females off in an escape pod, including Felicia. She hopes they will reach the Galactic commonwealth and and tell what they know of the tactics used by the Nayanors. Zar and his warriors are furious and the warriors would love to kill her for her actions. Only Zar as Harbinger saves her, but at the cost of fighting several of his best warriors. That along with the personal battles between the two of them make up a couple of the adventures.
Once on Luminos, winter is fast approaching and the owner of the The Black Hall, The Reaper, has long been an enemy of Zar's. The Reaper is pleased that over 2000 women were brought to their planet so that perhaps many of the warriors might find their fated one. The unclaimed women are locked together and very frightened. Ashley is permitted by Zar to try to calm them down. About a third listen, the rest are too scared to take it all in. Zar said that is normal. Ashley meets a fated one from a previous raid. She is very pregnant and has two other young sons. They become friends. But, as with other Vi Voxley stories more scary adventures await both her and Zar before they get their HEA. GREAT STORY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I BOUGHT THIS BOOK!
This was a bit too predictable and cliché for my preference. Maybe I need to give this genre a break for awhile???? This read just wasn't a memorable one for me and I won't be continuing the series.
DNF - quit at 30%. I really loved the Brion Bride series. I loved the connection the Brion’s had with their chosen, they practically worshipped their chosens. I don’t know, the plot in this book was too over the top bizarre or something. There is no way a normal woman would be attracted to a monster who killed all the coworker human men just because they were useless & in the way of abducting those human females, bond or not, then take all those human women to make into broodmares to continue their race. I’d have been horrified with/at Zar. Knowing they abducted those women alone would turn my stomach & neutralize any attraction. I didn’t see any chemistry between Ashley & Zar to help justify her acceptance of having an attraction to him & willingly let him have his way. I didn’t see any redeeming qualities in Zar. I didn't see him change his behavior as a conquering slaver with having founded his mate at the 30% mark. I don’t care if he’s goodlooking either. The world building is minimal, adding to the confusion of the plot. Just couldn’t keep going with being so disgusted with the main characters.
At my age, life is to short & my time to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
I was not feeling the chemistry between the H and h, the whole thing felt faked. In addition, the h was just TSTL, constantly making whiny demands and saying stupid things before even understanding the implications of her deeds. This rendered everything very irritating.
Finally, there was a glaring error in grammar that kept popping up and which I just couldn't overcome. There are all kinds of grammatical errors which I can overlook and whilst I do not pretend to have impeccable grammatical skills myself, grammar having been off the fashionable agenda when I was at school, there is however, one that raises my ire every time I see it. So far, I have seen it online in message boards and forums, but this is the second kindle book of the same ilk in which I have seen the superfluous use of the word 'of'. Short of going through the book I have read so far and finding the examples I will use, as an illustration of what I mean, a sentence I often see online.
“It’s not that big of a deal”
For god’s sake it really is that big a deal for me and therefore all things considered, I am done here.
The more I read this series, the more I disliked the Nayanors as a whole. The whole premises is that the Nayanors are tough, but they show that toughness by beating their women. On one page it states how much the Nayanors cherish females and then a few pages later there's some side note of a woman being mistreated. And what do the heroines think about this? They just shake their heads and say "Nayanors will be Nayanors." I only kept reading because I was hoping some redeeming quality of these aliens would surface....needless to say that didn't happen. I gave this 2 stars and not 1 because I reserve 1 star ratings for DNFs.
First let me encourage you not to judge Voxley by this book. The Brion Generals, for example, are great, and I found them to be total page turners (though I would start with book 3), not to mention the Paladin series. Unfortunately I truly hated this book and couldn't even finish it. There's was nothing at all to redeem the actions of the 'hero' and the heroine just up and caved too easily. Basically all I felt was hopelessness and disgust, which is not good for a romantic lead. Definitely check out Voxley's other work, but I'd leave this one on the shelf.
The Nayanors need women to carry on their species since no women are born on their planet anymore. To get the women they need, they raid other planets, including Earth.
Zar is a harbinger in charge of the raid where Ashley is captured. The moment he sees her, he knows she is his fated mate. The question is, can he make her believe it?
Great story, loads of adventure. I love all the struggles that Ashley and Zar go through to get their HEA.
DNF Dear Lord, I haven't read something as terrible as this book in ages! I hate a concept of an attraction to the abuser. I was ill through every page I read and there weren't many of them. I COULDN'T stomach it... IT WAS SICK!
The Nayanors are ruthless warriors notorious for their killing skills and abducting females for warriors on their home planet.
When Ashley Donovan's Arctic base is attacked by the Nayanors, it's a given that the women will become their prisoners. As a last resort, Ashley heads a small group of women who resist hoping a rescue party will arrive in time to save them. Hope is lost when their leader Harringer Zar Kohora quickly brings their resistance to an end and decides Ashley is to be his.
It's rare that females have been able to escape from the Nayanor warriors in the past. Ashley decides she will be one of those few as to actually step foot on Luminos is to never leave.

I requested and did receive an ARC copy of this book for which I agreed to provide an honest opinion and review.
New spin off series which time frame parallels the author's other SciFi series. The series premises a similar warrior class planet on par with the Brions.
The pros of this story are that Ashley has a back bone and is a strong female lead character who won't be intimidated or cower no matter that any infraction or disrespect could end in her head being separated from her neck. Zar is the one who would do the actual separation of head from neck. Pit the two together and this makes for an interesting relationship that can only end in one of two ways. One being death the other being fireworks in the bedoir. Guess which one it was.
The cons of this story are that it's a different mindset to grasp. The Nayanor are pretty much antiheroes. Their planet is a dystopian world that follows the only the strong survive mentality. Tough to get on board with main characters who would rather run a blade through someone than extend an olive branch....
As a first in series installment I think the author did a good job in setting the stage to build future installments off of. World building made up a majority of this story which did result in the actual romance being a secondary facet. No matter as I'm sure Zar and Ashley will return. ;)
A good first in series start that I look forward to being a fan of.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Zar the Harbinger of Nayanor and Ashley Donovan. Ashley is working on one of the stations on Terra when a raiding party of Nayanor men come. Ashley and the others have heard the rumors about these men. For example they are immortal, they will take any and all women on the place that they raid, very few know how they do this, also very few ever escape. So when the sound comes for the raid that is upon her station she is surprisingly calm about it all. The only thing she hopes is that they don't have to meet with the Harbinger, rumored to be one of the most ruthless of all Nayanor. Little did Ashley know what would come next. Can she put aside all of her preconceived notions and accepted the man beneath the title or will they be doomed from the start?
Zar hopes for what all Nayanor hope for when they go on these raids for a mate of his own. Little did he know when he goes on this raid he will find her but she might be more than he bargained for. He knows he needs a woman that can stand up to him and not focus on the rumors that surround him but he did realize how much he would have to deal with her will as well. Finding her may change him in ways he never expect. Can he deal with both the woman he believes is meant for him alone, as well as the dangers that surround them or will he lose everything he has ever dreamed of?
This is an amazing book about finding love and fighting for the right to keep it. This book has many twists and turns that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would like to tell you all about it but don't want to ruin any of the surprises for you. I will say I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
I voluntarily ARC for honest review. This story take place in Arctic Research Station NO#26. Senior technician Ashley Donovan and her friend/co-worker , watch as a fleet of spaceships , heading right for the station. The spaceships belong to warrior alien race Nayanor (male dominated planet) they hunting for females. The badest warriors are called Harbinger Zar Kohora. The Galactic Union is trying to stop the Nayanor, but they can't be stopped. No one knows how they travel so fast from one point to another or their home planet. Zar is getting bored without excitement and a truemate . When Zar meet Ashley for the first time , Zar feels an connection , she is feisty smart strength of character captivating and Ashley feels the same. Ashley doesn't want to be a captive , to any male dominated alien warrior. Ashley is attractive to Zar, but she's going to fight for her freedom with her friend Felicia. The Nayanor abducted 2,312.00 Terra females from the Arctic Station, now heading to their home world. I love this new sifi series. I love and recommend this book to everyone 😆 😙 The strong structure storyline and well developed characters and supporting characters brilliant exquisitely well written . The story is drama rom-com adventure provocative hot streamy explosives sex emotional rollar coaster sizzling chemistry strength of character captivating action and captivating from start to finish 💋 💖
Move over, Brions, Palians, Octavans, and Corrigans. The Voxley 'verse has a new species of alien hotness - meet the Nayanor. Zar is a Nayanor harbinger, a warlord who raids a Terran (Earth) space station to capture brides for his all-male species. Ashley Donovan meets Zar when she mounts a rear-guard defense during the attack. Zar knows Ashley is fated to be his, and the rest is pure Vi Voxley genius. The love/hate between Zar and Ashley, their growing respect for each other, the thorny moral dilemma of how best to respond when a wrong cannot be righted - the complex relationship between this H and h is riveting. With the Galactic Union as a familiar background, we begin to know the Nayanor as the newest interlopers, an unlikable, violent, and arrogant race forged from an unbearably hostile and harsh environment. Voxley the world-builder keeps the link between environment and evolution at the forefront of the story, which allows us, like Ashley, to find some justification for the Nayanor way, and for Zar's seemingly callous cruelty. Even the ending is trademark Voxley - fate deals a hard hand, but happiness is a choice, and love belongs to those with the courage to risk everything else to keep it.
This latest sci-fi romance from Vi Voxley ventures into the fringe of space, where raiders attack Coalition allied vessels, killing the men and stealing the women. Ashley Donovan is a Senior Technician on an Artic research station that is attacked and boarded by raiders. Zar Kohora is a Nayanor harbinger, the leader of the raiding party that has attacked ARS #26, is hopeful, but not certain his fated mate will be aboard the Terran station. Then he sees a woman who has barricaded herself in a room with a friend and he knows his wish has come true. Ashley is not going quietly, however, and when an opportunity comes to escape she takes it. She gets three women into an escape pod with information for the Coalition, but is unable to join them. It will be much later when the ramifications of what she has done becomes clear, as the body count rises and she begins to understand how different her captor's culture is from her own. And it will take everything Zar has to not only keep Ashley safe, but also save the people who follow him from the Reaper, the strongest warlord on their storm tossed homeworld.
This is an exciting new alien romance book and it is a highly enjoyable read. The Nayanors are a race that is not part of the Galactic Union and not likely to be any time soon as they literally abduct their brides from other worlds and Terran females are the most popular. This time they have targeted an Arctic Research Station and they are intent on grabbing as many women as they can. Ashley and her best friend and work mate Felicia are determined not to be one of them. So they have armed themselves and barricaded the way in so they can pick the raiders off one by one. Not a bad plan but Ashley did not count on the Nayanors harbringer being the one to come through the door. Zar is 7 feet plus of hot looking alien male and he wants Ashley as she is his fated mate but it will not be an easy conquest for him as he will have to change the way the Nayanors deal with female captives if he intends to keep the peace in his bed and it appears he will have some opposition from The Reaper the most feared Warlord on their planet Luminos and a totally nasty piece of work.. A big thank you to Vi Voxley for the wonderful review copy. Loved it.
Zar: Alien Raiders' Brides, introduces us to a new race of alien warriors whose female population has died out. Desperate to find their fated mates, the Nayanor warriors have taken to kidnapping Terran women. When the raiding party captures all the women from the Arctic station where Ashley works, she doesn't go quietly, even after learning that harbinger Zar is her fated. The power of the fated bond soon makes itself known to her but not before her actions almost gets herself and Zar killed. This book has some great action sequences and steamy romantic scenes. And while all the male mc's of Vi's books are alpha, Zar is maybe even a little more so. He comes from a race who believe they have the right to take what they want, in this case, Terran women, and feel no remorse at killing anyone who stands in their way. Hopefully, future books in this series will have these fearsome warriors finding a different way to accomplish their goal! I loved this story. Great writing, great characters, lots of steam. Another fab read by Vi Voxley.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Ashley was on board her space ship when it is suddenly attacked by Nayanor raiders. She and her friend decide to shut themselves off in a room and fight off the raiders. They are successful until Zar the head warlord comes in. In an amazing show of skill, he disarms Ashley and claims her as his. Ashley is unhappy with the claiming. She wants to go back home and rescue the other captives. Through some sheer nerve she is able to free some human women but is stopped from escaping herself. Zar is unhappy with Ashley's behavior. He knows they are meant to be together but she won't listen to him. Ashley has a lot to adjust to in Nayanor society. When they reach Nayanor the drama really picks up. This story has lots of action. I had a few problems with this story with both the hero and the heroine. The heroine seemed closed minded to the differences between human society and Nayanor and at first didn't want to learn. Zar is shown as a little cold, impatient and demanding. I do like this series but this first book was a little hard for me to get into at first. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
This is a great book. It is a graphic and explicit story. You should be 18 or older. Ashley is the heroine and a senior technician at a research station. The hero, Zar, is a harbinger, a warlord. Ashley is Zar's fated mate. Zar's people are a dying race. They have no females of their own, so they go to other planets and kidnap the women. The way the women are treated by some of the Nayanors, this is Zar's race. Ashley is conflicted as to whether or not to fight the situation or make the best of the situation. She starts by fighting the situation. This decision causes long term consequences. These consequences affect Zar, herself and other innocents. The fighting is bloody and the sex explicit. The action adventure was very good. The vehicle climbing the side of the Dark Hall was exciting, Zar imprisoning Ashley was also interesting, and the scene in the throne room. I did enjoy the book as the action adventure was great. I hope the next book is just as good. Another great job Vi. Keep up the good work.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book*
ZAR
In this new series, the story has taken on a slightly different feel to the other series that coincide with this one. The author did an anazing job with the world building, which is always imaginative and detailed. And the storyline was interesting and entertaining in a lot of ways, but there were parts of this book that took on a darker side with the violence and content. I think as a first book, parts of this story did push boundaries but I also think that this book had to be written this way for things to change for the better in future books. Zar is the ultimate badass alien male, who is a alpha and warrior, taking what and who he wants. Ashley is a strong human woman who fights the alien who has abducted her to the very last possible moment. I liked her feistiness a lot and her willingness to help others even in her own foreboding circumstances. So overall, I did really enjoy this story even with the darker content, and I'm looking forward to the next book.
Zar is set in the same universe as the Brion's. The Nayanor are powerful warriors. Their society based in traditions that no longer have meaning. The harsh environment of their world and their now non existent female birth rate has them raiding Union space for females. Like the Brion and Corgon they have fatwd mates. They are only able to have sons with their fated mates. When harbinger Zan needs his fated in Terrain, Ashley, change is coming to Luminous. Zar is a Maverick among his people. He sees e stagnation of his people. When he finds his fated to protect her he will challenge one of the most powerful warlords, and make his people better. I loved Zar and Ashley's story. I loved that the Nayanor's aren't really the good guys, are unapologetic for doing what they do to survive. Can't wait for Rhys's story and to see how things are changing under the rule of Zar.
I really enjoyed this sci-fi romance. Zar's people have no females so they raid other planets and take all the women. The men are looking for their mate among the captives so they can have sons. When he encounters Ashley, he knows he has found his mate.
Zar and Ashley are two determined individuals that fight hard for what they want. He is determined to have her as his mate and she is determined to be free and make her own choices. She also wants to protect the other women.
They really are a passionate couple. It leads to intense arguments and hot sex scenes. I really liked his sense of humor. He has a fun side that you don't often see in the romances in this genre. The story has plenty of action too as Zar fights to protect his mate and his people.
This is Book 1 of Alien Raiders' Brides series and it is great. I loved the strength of the characters and the way they interacted. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Zar is a Harbinger of Nayanor on a mission to Terra to capture women for mates. They attack the Arctic Research Station No.26. AshleyDonovan just happens to be the Senior Technician on the station when the attack occurs. She is a strong willed and determined women, who also happens to be Zar's mate. Can these two find any common ground? Will she succeed in warning Earth about how the Nayanor travel through space? Will she manage to get Zar killed because of her courage? This is definitely a 5 star story and I highly recommend it. "I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Readers Copy without pressure to do so".
...and the current pain in the butt of the Galactic Union and Terra. Yet another race that has somehow bred itself out of females, Nayanors TAKE what the need, Union be damned. And what they need are Terran females, lots and lots of them.
I have to say that Ashley was difficult for me to like as an h. She talked a good game for awhile but then she just gave up when the chips fell wrong to something she was definitely responsible for. She just didn't own it. Things worked out in the end but yeah, I've seen much stronger h's from Ms. Voxely in past books. Loved Zar though and the Nayanors look to be as interesting a group as the Brions have been. Looking forward to the next book in the series, it can't get put out as fast As I would like it too!
