J. Warner Wallace is a Dateline featured cold-case homicide detective, popular national speaker and best-selling author. He continues to consult on cold-case investigations while serving as a Senior Fellow at the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He is also an adjunct professor of apologetics at Talbot School of Theology (Biola University) and Southern Evangelical Seminary, and a faculty member at Summit Ministries. J. Warner became a Christ-follower at the age of thirty-five after investigating the claims of the New Testament gospels using his skill set as a detective. He eventually earned a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Gateway Seminary.

J. Warner has appeared on television and radio, explaining the role that evidence plays in the Christian definition of “faith” and defending the historicity of Jesus, the reliability of the Bible and the truth of the Christian worldview. Jim also speaks at churches, retreats and camps as he seeks to help people become confident Christian case makers. J. Warner’s book, Cold-Case Christianity, provides readers with ten principles of cold case investigations and utilizes these principles to examine the reliability of the gospel eyewitness accounts. In God’s Crime Scene, he investigates eight pieces of evidence in the universe to make the case for God’s existence. In Forensic Faith, J. Warner makes the case for a more reasonable, evidential Christian faith.

J. Warner’s professional investigative work has received national recognition; his cases have been featured more than any other detective on NBC’s Dateline, and his work has also appeared on CourtTV and Fox News. He also appears on television as an investigative consultant (most recently on truTV) and had a role in God’s Not Dead 2, making the case for the historicity of Jesus. J. Warner was awarded the Police and Fire Medal of Valor “Sustained Superiority” Award for his continuing work on cold-case homicides, and the CopsWest Award after solving a 1979 murder. Relying on over two decades of investigative experience, J. Warner provides his readers and audiences with the tools they will need to investigate the claims of Christianity and make a convincing case for the truth of the Christian worldview.

This is the participant's guide to the Forensic Faith curriculum. I found the curriculum to be well organized and a great guide to a better understanding and an aid to better articulate your Christian faith. The Curriculum course is the way to God, in my opinion, as it helps you better organize your own understanding and thoughts with respect to your faith and belief. A great study tool for a group study, or for personal study. Along with the two books a disk comes with the curriculum. Well worth the time, for group or personal!

We used this book in conjunction with the regular book and video curriculum from Right Now Media. I think the video is needed to get the most out of the workbook. This was our first workbook from J. Warner Wallace, and we really enjoyed it. We followed the format suggested that you use the workbook and video before you read the book chapter. I think it could be done effectively in the opposite order as well. The longer portions from the workbook were passages taken from the book, but the questions provided allowed for deeper conversations.
If you follow the suggested times you'll finish at a reasonable place, but it might take longer for a larger group so plan accordingly. Also, I think it's written at an easy level so I think middle schoolers and up would benefit from this study as well. You could easily include them in your small group study.
We love J. Warner Wallace's unique perspective in apologetics

Love the parallels between presenting a case in our legal system and apologetics. However, I would rather read his “Cold Case Christianity” book. I was a little disappointed that this study contained mostly “meta-apologetics” and philosophy of apologetics rather than apologetics itself. He spends way too much time explaining *why* we should be able to defend our faith and not enough explaining *how*. Even then, his focus is mostly on how to think logically and deductively, and how to form a proper argument and defend it. I see those skills as pretty basic and necessary for life, but then again, I guess the vast majority of people in today’s age don’t have them or haven’t had any training in them like I have.
Because of this study’s focus on those seemingly-basic things, I could never shake the vibe that this was intended for middle- or high-schoolers. Everything he teaches about how to defend an argument I learned in middle school.
