Naomi is trying to get herself out of a bad situation. Her ex, Greg, was always controlling, and now that she has left him, he has crossed the line into physical abuse and is using her neighbors to stalk her. This sets off Carter, an officer who chose to wear the badge because he spent his childhood watching his father abuse his mother. He makes it his mission to protect her from Greg and his violence.
Soon, they start falling for each other, but at first, they aren’t sure if it is real, or if it is just in reaction to his protective nature. But it eventually becomes clear that what they have is real. However, Greg isn’t happy with this romance and is ready to do whatever it takes to stop it.
The Reading Realtor I received an ARC for an honest review.

Mr. Sheriff is a novelette, just a little longer than a short story. The author does a good job with character development considering the length of this story but I really would have liked a better understanding of the heroine's motives for refusing to see the danger she was in from her ex. I also would have liked to know what happened to her ex in the end. I think this story is definitely worth reading as it bravely tackles a difficult subject. I'm glad these main characters had an HEA.
Naomi met hot cop, Carter, when he was called to arrest her for domestic abuse. One look at Naomi's covered bruises had Carter realizing that he had arrested the wrong party. Naomi & Carter grow close but the ex is stalking her...even though she doesn't believe that he's dangerous. Will the ex get his revenge? Will Naomi let Carter go? :)). Great story, quick read. HEA.
What a great book! Mr. Sheriff is my first Ivy Jordan book and after reading it, she has been added to my favorite authors list. She definitely has a talent for telling a story. And I like how she isn't afraid to write about sensitive real life issues. Well done Ivy, I look forward to reading more of your books.
I received an ARC for an honest review. This is another short story in Ivy Jordan's Mr. series. While I like the series, I can say that this was probably my least favorite. I just felt that the characters were immature and I didn't feel a connection between the leads in the story. Again...very predictable storyline and same ending as the last book in the series!
What a delightful read. Carter is a police officer and Naomi is a chef. They meet under unusual circumstances. Carter and Naomi start to clique immediately but an abusive ex boyfriend of Naomi is causing problems. Things are finally sorted out and there is a wonderful ending!
I received this book in advance for an honest review. As always Ivy Jordan's Mr. series is a fun and fast read. Naomi broke up with her boyfriend who has become abusive. During an episode the Sheriff. Carter, shows up an arrests Naomi for assault. This starts a relationship that gets hotter by the minute. A little bit of danger, splash of romance and happily ever after.
I loved this book. You immediately wonder why women try to stay and protect their abuser. You can also sympathize with the loved ones of police officers. You fall in love with Naomi and Carter. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
Loved it!! A steamy shorter story you can read in one sitting.I am so in love with Carter, and how he wanted to keep Naomi safe. He can see the signs of what type of man Naomi's Ex is but she need more convincing. After reading this I had to buy the rest of Ivy Jordan's books. You will not be disappointed!!!
This book is filled with domestic violence, bank robbery, officer down, heartache, love and finally HEA. All this packed into this short story and can easily be read on your lunch hour. You will enjoy this fast pace book because it may be short but its action packed. I voluntary read this ARC book
From almost being arrested to meeting the guy of her dreams? This was a sweet love story about overcoming abuse and maybe finding her happily ever after.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Loved Naomi & Carter's story. All I can say is... Wow!!! Kept me on the edge of my seat. So hot....loved it!!! Really like this author.
Worst heroine EVER!!!! She spent over half the book defending her ex!! Plus she was so dang whiny and wishy washy, I wished Carter found someone else!!!
-Heroine is accused/taken into custody for domestic violence, but it's later proven that her ex is actually the aggressor; -Heroine & cop become romantically involved; -Some interestingly bad behavior from the ex-boyfriend;
This premise is a great foundation for a short, but suspenseful, romantic story between a cop and a personal chef. I was ready to sink my teeth into some sexy and crazy drama. However, things go a little sideways with the thoughts and actions of the heroine.
Naomi is dealing with the drama of a violent, controlling, mean, and abusive ex-boyfriend. However, not only does she doubt & fight against her currently experienced cop boyfriend's (Carter) instincts when it comes to these situations, but she somehow makes that same cop doubt himself a little. Needless to say, things with the ex escalate. Yet, Naomi has no one to blame but herself.
Now, I'm very sympathetic in cases of domestic violence, but Naomi has quite a few TSTL moments (SPOILERISH?!):
-Why would she not move out of the apt. the ex put her up in with his evil & lying little spies all over the place? -She makes it too easy for the ex by not reporting their little "run-ins" or his phone calls; -Why, oh why was it so hard for her to believe that her ex was capable of vandalizing her current boyfriend's vehicle?! (Greg often refers to cops as "pigs", he's been violent with her, and is constantly violating the restraining order!) -Yet she remains adamant that she knows him and even argues with Carter that "Greg wouldn't do something like that." Aye, yi, yi!😒
It's a good thing Carter doesn't continue to doubt himself, but relies on his initial instincts about the ex, or we'd have a dead heroine on our hands.
I just wish the story was a little longer; fleshing out the characters a bit more. Naomi might not have had those TSTL moments, or we could have least understood her better with more background. But all in all, it was a pretty good story. It just needed more reasonable conflicts aside from the ones created by the heroine. But I really do like Ms. Jordan's work.

I read this on vacation. I like police romances, since I really do think cops are heroes. However, I kind of felt that the heroine was TSTL, and the conflict between her and the hero made little sense. The story was short on romance and felt off.
