The first 20% was interesting because two best friends turned on one another after 👂ing some he said-she said, gossip. Taking it to ❤ and then shooting his friend dead. One mom has to endure that pain. The rest of the book was 80% boring to read. I couldn't relate to the characters or the storyline. IMO, it was a mistake to combine these stories in one novel.
It was an interesting and quick read. I didn't care for the authors' commentary after every paragraph however the story flowed at some parts and stalled at others. This story seemed to be worded or told from a personal experience. I enjoy Sa'id reads however I am noticing some of his stories are a hit or miss. You have to take your chance.
The last 48 is 4*s the trap is 2*s so I averaged it at 3. The last 48 is about a mother's grief. She had to live across the street from her son's killer. The other book was just not my style.
Mr. Salaam, always coming with RAW reality. That was quite a tale. When a brother finally decides to get right and convinces his mom to do the same, life changes in an instant.
