The Easy Body is a love letter from hell. In these poems, a fiery account of loss combines with a multi-lingual prophecy of stained, stunning beauty. In deep suffering and impure solidarity, the Latinx, matrilineal, colonized body of this text will never be ‘easy.’ Get ready for the birth of a riot and the death of the world.
Emotive. Heavy as fuck. Sometimes too much for the sake of being too much but always right on point. Insightful and reflective. The reveal at the end was like a breath of air. Tatiana really swam through expressing the realities many women face from so many varying levels, things and people. A wonderous body of work.
Picked this book up in NYC for a deal with a couple other pieces from Timeless Infinite Light. It's sad they no longer exist when this shit is the truth. Can't wait to read the rest of what they've put out.
"Everyone moves in relation to a place that no longer exists." —Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta, The Easy Body
I swung back and forth on this pretty dramatically while reading it. It had swung all the way back positive by the last page and so this is a little 5 star book even though I rolled my eyes at entire pages. Vibes, innit, and some sentences on other pages were so good those didn’t matter.
