"My name is Charlotte O’Callaghan and I am a serial killer."
"My name is Detective Matthew Craig and I am hunting a serial killer no one else believes exists."

They call her the poor cursed princess. He is one of the police force’s finest.
When upper-class daughter Charlotte O’Callaghan loses her parents to a hit and run at the age of 15, she feels as if she died along with them until one accident on the evening to her 16th birthday and a freak coincidence on the night of her parents' death anniversary changes everything.
Matthew Craig has connected seventeen deaths to each other by nothing more than the date and time of death. No one believes that these violent deaths have been executed by one person, because other than the date and time of death and them being unsolved homicides, there are no similarities. That and the hit-and-run he feels where everything started.
It is his investigation into that hit-and-run that has Charlotte and Matthew crossing paths and that changes everything.

This book is not suitable for minors and the faint-hearted, due to violence, murder, and explicit content!

This book was recommended to me. This was a short quick dark thriller that I liked Charlotte O’Callaghan is an artist and a serial killer. Her parents were killed when she was 15 by a drunk driver. On her 16th birthday she made her first kill when a guy at her party tried to rape her and although it was an accident she liked it she painted the blood pattern. Charlotte has been killing people twice a year for the last ten years she doesn't just don't kill anyone she kills people who are bad people who get away with crimes. Detective Matthew Craig knows that he has a serial killer know one believes him he linked up the dates of the killings he also knows that someone killed Charlotte's parents and the person has never been found. Matthew is also dealing with demons of his past. His sister committed suicide after being raped and his parents kind of blamed him. This was a really good book this was my first time reading this author, but not my last. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. This was book 1 in this series and I am looking forward to reading the next book.

This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it. It is a quick read. Introduces us to the 2 main characters, Charlotte and Matthew. We are given brief background on each character. Will Matthew find the serial killer no one believes is real? I don't want to give too much away but a must read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This was a good read, it didn't blow me away, but it was enjoyable.
Maybe it was because book one only just gets started, slightly delving into the story before cutting off abruptly, I felt I didn't quite have time to get to know our two main charectors and this left me a bit disconnected from the story.
So what's Blood Curse about you may ask?
Well, the concept here in D.S. Wrights tale is fascinating. A female serial Killer, I absolutely love this unique idea. It always intrigues me when the female has sociopathic tendencies.
So this is Charlotte, after her parent's death she feels nothing and finds that if she kills those pesky emotions get turned back on.
So twice a year Charlotte chooses a victim. Like a female Dexter, she only goes for those she feels deserve her type of vigilante justice.
She then returns to her life as a rich gallery owner.
Enter Mathew a police officer convinced there's a serial killer on the loose, nobody really takes him seriously and he is banging his head figuratively against a brick wall.
He arranges a meeting with the O’Callaghan Princess never for one minute imagining her to be involved.
The sparks fly and after a bonding dinner, well Mathew and Charlotte bond some more breaking a mirror in the process.
This is where our tale ends, it's much too short in my opinion to draw the reader in and get them addicted and wanting to purchase book two.
I also found the love scenes a bit wordy, but that's just my personal preference as I like my scenes with more of a raw edge to them.
Now positives, Brilliant unique concept, I really am interested in seeing where this is going, I found this was also well written with a flowing storyline, the cover itself was also quite eye-catching.
Thank you to the Author D.S. Wrights for generously providing me with a free arc of Blood Curse.
This is my own Personal Opinion of this novel.

This is the first book I have read by this Author and I have to say it will not be my last.
This book is different from other books I have read.

Did I like this book yes did I love this book yes? It just pulls you in from the start and doesn’t let go till the last page I need book 2 already.

This is the story of Charlotte she became a serial killer, I really like her character you get to know these characters and you start to understand why she is doing what she is doing yes, it is wrong but, well you have to read to find out.
Then we have Matthew the detective. He believes the murders are all being committed by the same person. He doesn’t know who yet but is slowly putting pieces of the puzzle together he doesn’t suspect Charlotte. Matthew is dealing with demons of his own from his past.
What will happen when these two meet for the first time.

I really can’t say much more than this as I don’t want to spoil it for others but give this book a try it is well worth it.
I can’t wait to get my hands-on book 2.

5 bloody stars! We're reading form POV of both Charlotte O'Callagan, the serial killer and detective Matthew Craig the man that is determined to hunt down the person behind it all. This book keeps you on the edge from the very first lines and leaves you dying for more. It's rare you come across a storyline like D.S. Wrights has written and I'm hooked, I want to see what develops between Charlotte and Matt will they continue on their on paths or will they start to blend together?. I need more and I need it now, it's so good I'm hooked. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Book 6 of the get-them-known challenge

Note: For the next couple of months, I am going to read books by unknown authors. Most of these books would have less than 300 reviews and would be chosen at random. The biggest perk is that most of these books I have received by the authors after contacting them. My main goal is to bring to light the huge number of books that go ignored but totally deserve the attention any bestseller out there is getting. I hope I read at least 50 overlooked novels this year and I will appreciate if other people tried to read more of these ignored books as well.

An unfashionably late review for an ARC. I really need to start posting my reviews quicker.
I got an ARC copy of this book from Instafreebie in exchange for an honest review
I am so glad I decided to give this one a read. This was my first book from the author and it managed to make a good first impression of the author in my mind.
Blood Curse is a novella about Charlotte, who lost her parents at the age of 15 to a hit and run, and Matthew, a detective out to find the culprit who caused
Shortly after her parents are murdered, our heroine adopts an unusual practice of killing people at each anniversary of her parents’ death and at each eve of her birthday. It helps that people think she is grieving and this is why she shuts herself in her house on the two occasions and don’t suspect her.
Detective Matthew becomes suspicious of the murders happening twice a year when he notices that each happens at oddly the same time on the two events. However, he is the only one who considers this something more than a coincidence. He decides to meet the famed cursed princess to find out more about the murders. The only problem is that sparks fly the moment he lays his eyes on her and he cannot resist giving into the attraction. We will find out in the later series when and how Matthew finds the truth about Charlotte and whether he will be able to overlook them to be with her.
The fact that DS Wrights was able to squeeze so many events in 95 pages is quite admirable and has convinced me to read the whole series.

D.S. Wrights writing gets better, bolder, and sexier with each book she puts out. BLOOD: Curse: Episode 1 made me giddy with excitement from beginning to end. It was a fanstastic start to a new series. Heroine, Charlotte O’Callaghan would make Dexter Morgan a proud papa as she lives by a code similiar to the code he lived by (which by the way isn't mentioned in the book, I just so happened to be a DM fan).
description
Speaking of Charlotte let me introduce to you both Charlotte and the handsome dectevice who is hunting her, Matthew Craig.

Charlotte is a successful artist with a turbulent past.
description
She lost her parents at the age of fifteen from a hit and run car accident and a year later she was nearly raped at her own sweet sixteen birthday party. That event altered Charlotte's behavior forever.
Dectective Craig is hunting a serial killer no one believes exist but him. Fate brings him face to face with the killer he has been tracking for the last seventeen murders.
What I love about this book is every serial killer lives by a code and always walks aways with a trophy and Charlotte is no different. Anyone who is familiar with the TV show Dexter knows DM use to keep blood slides in a box. Well Charlotte hides her trophies in a genius way. Brava D.S. Wrights. I can't wait to read the next episode.

BLOOD: Curse: Episode 1 was a thrilling first part in a new series I am already addicted to. It has all the elements of a gritty story: intriguing, mystrey, suspense, crime, sexiness. All I can say is give me more and soon.

BLOOD: Curse: Episode 1 gets 4.5 keep your friends close and your enemies closer stars!

I loved every single page of this tale an I really couldn't put it down.
Blood was just such a page Turner but I wasn't surprised at how D.S sucked me in again, this woman could write literally anything but how she puts it is what draws you in, I loved how these characters felt so real.. so honest it was beautifully crafted.

The whole plot was thoughtfully done, the twist an turns this book takes you on had me gasping as to what would happen and I honestly can't wait to read the next part!

Uhh...Hello, honestly how can you not love a book where the 1st sentence tells you this book is about a female serial Killer. Like seriously that is just badass. I love the thrill of finding out about Charlotte. What made her who she was and why she does what she does. This chick is just down right the best thing since Beatrix Kiddo aka The Bride aka Black Mamba from Kill Bill. This intense thriller crime fiction has it all going for it.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Very riveting! I wasn't expecting the turn this story just took; it has quite an unexpected surprise that is jaw-dropping good! This was a great crime romance story that is full of emotional angst, scorching love scenes, a compelling storyline, and this book was well written by D.S. Wrights. It is dark with gruesome details; murder, mystery, intrigue, suspense, and passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. The story will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. This is the first time I read a book by this author, D.S. Wrights, but I assure you, it will not be the last. I was enthralled with the characters of Charlotte O’Callaghan and Detective Matthew Craig and the banter between the two. Charlotte is very wealthy and was called the poor cursed princess after her parents were killed by what police termed accidental hit and run—she called it murder. On the eve of her parent’s death, suspicious murders were happening throughout the city. Detective Craig is consumed with finding what he believes to be a serial killer, but no one else in his precinct believes there is one. When Detective Craig goes to ask Charlotte questions about her parent’s death, instantly, the chemistry between them is getting really sultry. Will Detective Craig be able to solve the murders or find the serial killer? Who is the sadistic villain that could be murdering people in the city? The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

Charlotte O'Callaghan is a very privileged and wealthy daughter until her parent's death. The police called it a hit-and-run accident resulting in their death. She called it murder. She is also now a vigilante serial killer. To the world she is known as the owner of an art gallery. When not at her gallery, she is throwing fundraising parties. To the world Charlotte O'Callaghan is the poor cursed princess.

Detective Matthew Craig is hunting a serial killer and no one else believes exist. He has matched the victim’s deaths, because of the dates, to the death of Charlotte's parents. He doesn't suspect Charlotte of any wrong doing, but wants to interview her to see if she can help in his investigation. What he didn't expect is their instant attraction to each other or that they would act on it.

This is the first book or episode in the Blood Series. I can't wait to read more, and am anxious for the next book.

I have to say this story is different. it's truly amazing.
it's about Charlotte O'Callaghan. she has become a serial killer. Do I love her character? Yes I do. The author has written the story so that we get to know and love the characters. D.S Wrights has a way of writing that allows you to almost become friends with those you are reading about.
Enter Matthew Craig. He believes that all the murders are being committed by the same person. He does not suspect Charlotte.
Matthew has his own demons from his past. Just like Charlotte. You begin to see how much they have in common.
Sparks fly when they finally meet. This story is going to get better and better.
I need the next book please.

What a truly unique start to this brand new series by DS Wrights.

When you pair a female serial killer and the detective hunting her you know that your in for a crazy ride with the story.

Charlotte, entrepreneur, artist, gallery owner, champion of charities...... serial killer.
Matthew, police detective obsessed with catching the serial killer no one believes exists.

I cannot wait to see where this takes us, please don't keep us waiting too long DS Wrights.

This is a dark twisted episode. It was different seeing inside the mind of the killer. Oddly enough I can understand why the killer chose to kill. This the only the first episode, so there is definitely more to come in this storyline. I look forward to seeing where the author takes this story line.

I got this book for free on Instafreebie.com

Damn this book was good! Is it weird that I was on both Charlotte's and Matt's sides? I wanted him to solve the case but I still didn't want her to get caught. I mean, how sick is that? I'm a bit crazy I think. Or I just got inside each character's mind so well.
And their chemistry? My, my...
Now I need part 2. I need to know what will happen next. How will he react when he finds out? Will he ever find out?

This book will suck you in, and you won't want to put it down. The characters are very unpredictable and you never know what is going to happen next. There are some dark tones to the book but they are well written and will keep you quessing. This is going to be a great series, I can tell by the way the first story develops. I can't wait to read the next one!

This is such an exciting start to a new original series. The reader is quickly introduced to Charlotte, the main character and the truth of her story, is slowly unraveled during this first episode.
"I don't kill for fun. I kill for my own survival. I kill so that I stay alive and so that I can be the very daughter my parents wanted me to be."
"I know this haunted glance, this stern expression that shields you from other people's curiosity."
"Her predatory hunger and impatience speak to a side of me I never thought I could set free."
An excellent thriller and suspenseful story that I will try to patiently wait for the next episode.

This is my first time reading anything by this author, I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review and I am literally blown away by how much I enjoyed part 1. The story is very intriguing l, and I did not want to put this book down. The teasers pulled me into wanting to read this story and now that I've started I can't wait for the next episode. This is the first book I have read by this author and I will say it won't be the last. From the very first sentence I was sucked into this amazing and incredible dark story and I didn't want it to end.

The writing was smooth and very easy to understand. The story just flowed and took me on one hell of a journey. The minor problems I did have were: a few spelling/punctuation/grammatical errors, not a lot at all, but, as this was an ARC, I'm sure they will be/were fix prior to release. I also found the switching of perspectives to be a little difficult to keep up with some times, but, again, nothing that distracted from the reading. It just took me a second to catch on. No big deal.

As far as the story goes, it was completely incredible. Nothing like I have ever read before. It was so well written and so thought out that you can't help but be transported into the story yourself. I am really excited to see where this goes! A Detective and the Serial Killer he is chasing? COME ON! How can you not LOVE that?! I can't wait to continue this journey and see what conspires between these two.

4 out of 5 stars! Definitely a must read!

Wow I just love it when we get to swim around in the mind of a serial killer.
Charlotte O'Callaghan had it all..... happiness......until she didn't. With the death of her parents her life changed forever. Everything that she did she did with purpose. To her it was ridding the world of the scum that lived within it.

Matthew is a cop and there is one cold case he could not let go of. Will he put all the pieces of the puzzle together? Only time will tell.

This story is told in dual point of view, Charlotte and Matthew's. We get the full picture of how Charlotte life was turned upside down when she was sixteen and I must say my heart broke for her. Matthew on the other hand is fixated on a cold case a is determined to unvavel all the clues in finding the perpetrator.

This is a fantastic start to a brilliant crime thriller read. Looking forward to book 2.
