On leave from his boring duty standing guard over the Gate, a portal between the worlds of humans and dragons, dragon-shifter Shazakh plans to party hard in Las Vegas. But when a beautiful human woman crosses his path and disrupts his plans, his oath to keep the secret of his kind becomes much more difficult.
Midnight Flight is a prequel to the Dragons of Ascavar series. Start it free and find out why readers can’t get enough of the Dragons of Ascavar.
A intro to the Dragons of Ascavar series. A novella that shares some of the world building where the dragons are hidden but interact with the world as guardians and saviors. Kami is in Las Vegas for a bachelorette party. After a series of mishaps, she is saved by a man with a lot of distracting muscles. Then she is being set down on the roof of the MGM by a dragon. A dragon!
Entertaining on the lighter side of paranormal, not outright humor. Light questions such as “is this real or only a dream”. Third POV from both hero and heroine.
Not really a full story but more of an encounter. Cliffhanger for the couple. Intriguing enough that I will buy books by the author to continue reading this dragon world.
This was cute but read more like a prologue. The ending was very much an hfn. I hope the author writes another story continuing their romance...
Shazakh aka 'Shawn' is a young dragon shifter happy to spend his hard earned time off with a night on the town in Vegas. Kami is a young woman having a weekend fraught with bad luck in Vegas. Shawn to the rescue but what seemed like a simple rescue becomes more complicated when Kami proves to be different than your usual human.
waaaaayyyyyyyyy too short! As an into to a series it was nice, got you hooked on the world, made you want more. As a teaser for Kami and her dragon, it was entirely evil! in the good way. because now i am eagerly awaiting their full story.
I enjoyed this introduction to JD Monroe’s Dragons of Ascavar and now I want to read more about Kami and Shazakh. Shazakh rescues Kami from a dangerous situation and she discovers his secret that he’s a dragon. They really click but he is called back to his duty station and we are left hanging. I don’t mind the cliffhanger too much but now I want to know which book in the series has their story.
This very short story gives us a sneak peak into the Dragons of Ascavar series. I found the world intriguing and was left wanting to know more. I wish the main characters had had a tad bit more chemistry, but there were some hints at other interesting elements that may be at play in the series.
This is short novella. I liked the characters and enjoyed their interactions. The book simply was too short for me to get a good feeling for the story. I would like to read more about these characters.
I really liked the characters and world building in this short novella. The story felt flirty and cute with the underlying on mystery and danger. I did not care for the way it ended though, because I want to know what happens between Kami and her Dragon!
Kami has had enough fun for the evening and decides to head back to her hotel. Shazakh is meeting a friend for a night on the town. They end up on a collision course that brings the two of them together. This is a happy for now story. It is also the prologue to the The Dragons of Ascavar series. #CMCon25
I loved this book. Having the ability to travel between worlds while cloaking your true existence. Realizing that there are some you cannot cloak from. Saving her from a horrible fate. What a GREAT introduction to this world. It has struggles, strong characters, love and loyalty. What more could a girl want!!
If you like dragons, you'll love this book! These dragon shifters are super sexy and exciting! This book is a journey where Shazakh is pulled between keeping his secret and opening himself up to the woman he loves.
Cute story to introduce us to ancient dragons in the modern world. I liked how much the power the human seemed to have. She definitely held her own. I'm interested to see more.
