Four short stories from the world of the Undead Canadian series, including two previously unpublished works!

Exchange of Power - Magic has its rules: necromancers control zombies, not the other way around. But rules are made to be broken, and when Kit realizes he can command Edward, he intends to take full advantage of this new-found power. The opportunity to unsettle Bone in the process just makes it that much sweeter.

Bone – Bone knew Edward was a necromancer the moment he set foot in Bone’s mortuary. Edward never stood a chance.

The Adventures of Boo the Zombie Cat - Edward has hardly spent a night away from his cat, Boo, since before he was in preschool. Not even death could separate them—Edward resurrected Boo as his first zombie when he was five years old. Now, Boo has gone missing, and the cat isn’t in any of his usual haunts.

The Jenkins Place – After losing his wife and the use of his legs in a car accident, Jim Robinson and his daughter Sarah move to an acreage outside Kingston, Ontario, to make a fresh start. Jim isn’t looking to fall in love, but the house’s former resident might be able to cure his broken heart.

I have loved this series from the get go. It has made me laugh, cry and everything in between. But it's also been something so different. It's a fun read. You can't put it down. I love all the quirks, even in the serious times. This is a book of 'in-betweens’. And they have been just as fun to read.

In the first little story, Exchange of Power, for some reason Kit can now command Edward with 'The Command Voice’. Normally it's a power for the necromancer, but for some reason they've switched roles. While Kit is having a bit of fun at Edward's expense, Edward is trying to figure out what is going on. With the help of Muriel, they figure it out and Kit is reminded that the Voice is not so fun after all.

I have to say, I'd probably be like Kit, at first, myself. Could you imagine having someone do what you want them to when you want them to? You could have some fun for sure. But then I'd see the other side as well. To be commanded to do something beyond your control would be freaky for sure.

In the next little story, Bone, we get the perspective from Edward's friend, Bone, on when they met. Lol. Bone is such a hot dog. Poor Edward. But Bone is like a dog with a...well...bone lol. They meet when a body goes to Bone by mistake and as they are fixing the error, Bone worms his way into Edward's life. And that, they say, is that.

Bone is a strange character for sure. After all this time, though, I still want to know what he is. He's not a normal human. I almost felt sorry for Edward, at first, because he's so shy and naive. Bone is…..well...not. lol.

The Adventures of Boo the Zombie Cat, lol, oh that cat. If that's what you can all him. He's definitely a zombie. Bits falling here and there. But he gets an adventure for sure in this story. After an unfortunate bathing incident, Kit hires cleaners to clean the house up. The cleaners take Boo to the point because he was making all kinds of noise and he appears dead. Well….he is lol. Edward is fraught with grief over trying to find him and when they finally do, it's so sweet.

Dude, if I ever ran across a Boo in my life, I think I might have to take a broom to it. Eek. Not that I want to hurt a 'living’ thing, but Boo is creepy. I get how that cleaner felt. I get how Kit feels. But Edward loves that creepy cat so much, Kit puts up with it. Despite their bumpy times, Kit would do just about anything for Edward. It's so sweet.

And finally in, The Jenkins Place, we learn how Jim and Claude really meet. When Jim buys Claude’s old farmhouse, he dreams of someone with him. Little by little, he gets to know this 'person’ in his dreams. And he's REALLY getting to know him. Bow-chicka-wow-wow. Lol. He also realizes his daughter is seeing this ghost and talking to him. Then he begins to see him in daylight hours. And tries to learn how to live with a ghost.

Could you imagine having a dream where you're having sex with a ghost??? Oh my gah I would be freaking out so bad. Like Jim was. But it was sweet as well because Claude was so comforting for Jim. He healed him emotionally from losing his wife and made him not so lonely. Gave him good sex too. Lol. I think I could…..maybe….deal with it if it took the blues away. Jim certainly did.

What a great set of little stories. I love the 'in-betweens’ like this. It's more added oomph to the original stories. And with this series being so great, it just made it even better.
