Falling for the Werewolf

Jace Stevens might have a Master’s in finance, but he’s a simple werewolf at heart. He prefers fresh air to climate-controlled offices and living in the close-knit community of Kenner’s Mills to the big city. When he accidentally crosses paths with his mate, he’s got everything a shifter could ask for.

Dani Evans wants to be a teacher. It’s taken years of night school, but now she’s finally done. She’s spending her summer with her aunt in Kenner’s Mills, hoping for a position in one of the local school districts. It a great place, and when she meets the man of her dreams, it gets even better.

It doesn’t matter that she’s human and he’s a shifter; Jace and Dani are meant to be together. But when Jace’s pregnant ex shows up and starts spewing threats, things get hairy --- especially since Dani has a little secret of her own.

Abbie Zanders is a USA Today bestselling author of more than 70 romance novels, creating immersive worlds filled with protective heroes, competent heroines, unforgettable families, and close-knit communities that make readers feel like they've come home.

Born and raised in the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, where many of her stories are set, Abbie writes everything from small-town romantic suspense to paranormal romance. No matter the genre, the heart of every Abbie Zanders book is the same: characters worth rooting for, relationships built on loyalty and trust, found family, and the promise of a satisfying happily-ever-after—with no cliffhangers, ever.

Whether readers are returning to the Callaghan family in Pine Ridge, discovering the supernatural residents of Mythic, or stepping into one of her other interconnected worlds, Abbie creates stories designed to feel less like fictional settings and more like places—and people—worth coming home to.

Long before becoming a full-time author, Abbie was creating stories. She also earned degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics and spent more than twenty-five years as a software engineer designing and writing financial applications. Along the way, she worked second jobs as a deli clerk, pub waitress, restaurant baker, and secretary. Those experiences—and the people she met along the way—have a habit of finding their way into her fictional worlds.

In addition to writing and reading, Abbie loves animals (especially big dogs), American muscle cars, and 80s hair bands.

Come for the romance. Stay for the family. Welcome home.

Well hero was a HUGE idiot!
Your pregnant ex threatens your mate and then destroys her career and you stay away from her for 4 fucking weeks because you are giving her space and don't want to "complicate" things, and you wonder why she'd run away and not tell you about the pregnancy? Because you did NOTHING to support her at hours of need because you needed to sulk and you made her feel like a burden you brainless twat!
Also, I wonder what he'd have done if SHE didn't go to him? Actually I'm sure he'd have done nothing because that's precisely what he did AFTER she went up to him and then left him the second time.
Her boss decided to intervene because he cared for her and HE went to this dimwit and he fixed everything!
"Hero" did precisely nothing!
Except to appear at heroine's doorstep and make it look like he's proposing because of the baby. Frankly I'm not convinced that he was not!
Also, ZERO comeuppance for the OW! Actually I think she was rewarded because hero found and got the love of her life baby daddy back!

Jace Stevens is a at a crossroads, after working hard to get a degree in finance he is finding that he would rather work with his Uncle working with this hands doing carpentry. Jace happens to bump into Dani Evans who is new to town and he can't stop thinking about her. Luck is on Jace's side though when the project he is working on happens to be at Dani's aunt. Jace quickly realizes Dani is his mate but when his ex claims he got her pregnant it threatens to pull everything Jace and Dani are building apart.

A bit angsty towards the end but overall I enjoyed this one. Jace is smitten with Dani and he is almost shy about wooing her properly. Good chemistry and a great outdoor read to relax in the sun.

I'm now a convert! Have never read a shifter romance before but what Abbie has done here with this book has done it for me. I love the idea of finding that one person who is it for you. The one you know with that first glimpse that this person was chosen just for you.

Jace's protective instincts towards Dani had me melting each time. I loved how sweet and innocent Dani was and it was easy to see why Jace would fall in love with someone like her. Not a mean bone in her body. It was like she was made for him. These two together were perfect.

I love a happy ending and Abbie provided that for us here.

Look forward to more, and hopefully Tiny will also feature in a future story. His friendship and the help he provided to both Jace and Dani made me smile. He deserves a happy ending too.

I was caught by this story after the first couple of pages. This isn't your usual shifter story where he's fighting for alpha status etc. This is a love story where he just happens to be a shifter. Jace and Dani's story is well worth worth a read and I look forward to reading more of Abbie's books. My only complaint is, it's not long enough, not that the story is too short but I didn't want it to end.

His ex, Amanda stopped by ...“Amanda was here?”
“I will take care of this, Amos.”
“Ain’t gonna be that easy, son. Amanda’s saying she’s carrying your baby.”
“She’s what!”
“She says you got her pregnant. Any chance that’s true?”
They had only been together a few times, and he had used a condom each time. Except ... Except for the night three months ago when he had told her they were through. She had caused such a scene that he ended up going out and getting drunk, only to wake up naked in the back of his truck. He didn’t remember any of it, but she had told him they’d had epic breakup sex ...”
“This can’t be happening.”

“He was drunk. She said we did, but I can’t remember ...”
“So, she could be lying?”
Jace looked at him, stunned. Would she really stoop that low?
The answer was a sinking feeling in his gut. Yes, she would.
“Why don’t you tell me what you do remember from that night and maybe we can make some sense out of it together?”

Amanda was orchestrating some elaborate deception, which unfortunately, was exactly something she would do if she thought it would get her what she wanted.
Jace had taken Amanda out to a quiet, out-of-the-way restaurant to end things between them. She had gotten angry, causing a scene at the restaurant until they had been asked to leave.
“Did you take her home?”
“No, we drove separately. I got in the truck and took off the minute I saw she was safely inside her car. I drove up the mountain, went for a run, then ended up at Tommy’s.”
“Would she have known where to find you?”
“Maybe.”
“Break it down for me.”
“I needed to blow off some steam, so I went to the trails and let my wolf take over. I ran for an hour or so, I guess. Then I drove up to Tommy’s, ordered a beer and a shot, and told him to keep them coming. It was during March Madness. I remember watching some of the Sweet Sixteen on the flat screen. Next thing I remember, I was waking up in the back of the truck with Amanda.”

“Do you remember who bartended that night?”
“Yeah, it was Tommy, the owner. We were talking about our Harleys during the commercials. He got his about the same time I got mine.”
“Do you happen to have a picture of Amanda?”
“No. But I bet she has plenty of selfies on her social media accounts.”
“Go grab a shower, the you and I are going to pay a visit to Tommy Saunders.”
“What are you thinking? That Amanda followed me up there and set me up?”
Amos’s face was grim. “That’s exactly what I think.”

Jace ended things with Amanda months ago, but she doesn’t want to be let go, her daddy’s the local Alpha and she thinks she’s entitled to whatever she wants. She’s made it clear that she wants Jace.
She’s claiming to carry Jace’s baby, threatening termination if he doesn’t come to acquiesce.

Amanda’s father is an influential Alpha. Bess told Amos, who in turn had told Jace about Amanda’s father’s interference. About the teaching positions Dani had applied for, and how swiftly the rejections had been delivered. She had lost her position at the senior center, leaving her only with the night shift at the diner. Bess was especially worried because Dani’s self-imposed deadline was drawing swiftly to a close. Dani had stated that, if she didn’t find a teaching job by the end of the summer, she would seek employment elsewhere.

Kevin Jeffries, was a human who had spent several months interning for the bank Amanda’s father owned. Amanda had been seeing Jeffries around the same time she had been seeing Jace. When Amanda’s father found her and Jeffries in his office, in flagrante delicto, Kevin was promptly transferred to a branch office in a different state. When Jeffries found out that Amanda was pregnant, he confronted her with Jace, forcing her to confess that she had tried to lay the blame on Jace. Kevin was the father, but Amanda was angry with him for leaving her so easily and sought to punish him by naming Jace instead.

Jace keeps his distance as promised and when she goes to him to tell him about the baby, they fall into bed, without her telling him about her pregnancy and without resolving anything.
Finding out from Tiny that she’s pregnant, he arrives at her door with a marriage proposal.
“I ... I won’t keep your child from you, you don’t have to marry me.”
If she thought Jace had been angry before, she was wrong. Now he was angry.
“Is that what you think? That I only asked because I got you pregnant?”

I was nervous about reading this book and none of the reviews addressed my worries so I figured I'd just have to find out for myself.

Jace and Dani are perfect together. Their romance and courtship were so sweet. Then the evil OW enters the scene and things get angsty. . That didn't bother me much, but Jace's reaction to Dani's upset is what got on my nerves. . But Dani was so amazing that she saved the book.

I did notice that the wolf shifters in this book behave differently and have different shifter biology than the wolf shifters in earlier books in the series. They are all written by different authors but I wish they would be more consistent within the series.

Sweet, sexy, and oh so good.

For a shifter there are worse things than literally bumping into your destined mate on the street and knocking her to the ground…like losing track of her for weeks.

I read a lot of paranormal romance and I also write it. So needless to say I can be a little nitpicky about the genre. Abbie Zanders captures the essence of PNR in her latest book Falling for the Werewolf. You have your hero―Jace Stephens, alpha-male shifter who longs for his mate. Your heroine―Dani Evans, sweet and sexy with enough strength to handle a shifter. Add in meddling family members and a villain… you have the makings of a great PNR.

I immediately fell in love with Jace. I love a man who knows what he wants his life to be and isn’t afraid to go out and live it regardless of what society deems as the better choice for one’s future. He’s a man who takes his responsibilities seriously and will honor them even if it means forgoing his own happiness.

Dani is sexy and strong with enough innocence to make her irresistible. She doesn’t rely on others to make her dreams come true. She has plans for her future and she will do what it takes to make that happen.

I love the dynamic between the characters, both main and secondary. There is enough angst in the story to keep you interested, but not overwhelm the plot.

Falling for the Werewolf contains complex lovable characters, strong plot, and real emotion. My only complaint…it ended way too soon. I highly recommend this and any book by Abbie Zanders.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What happens when a chance encounter on a crowded street in a big city feels like a life- changing moment? For Jace Stevens, that is exactly what happens when he leaves an interview, desperate to head home where the world makes sense to his shifter nature, but when he bumps into a complete stranger and his wolf takes interest, his whole world changes in an instant. However, fate steps in and the woman who makes his world brighter suddenly vanishes, on a bus, as fast as she appeared. A week goes by and still the image of her haunts his thoughts. Wishing and hoping, he goes back day by day, desperate to see her once again, but that is when fate steps in once again, bringing Dani into his life as the niece of client of his uncle Amos, who he works with in construction.
Jace and Dani find there way through life and love in this tale of fate, heart- break and destiny with a little shifter thrown into the mix. Step into this fantastic tale that will make you wish for a wolf of your very own. Perfect afternoon or summer read! Abbie does it again! Fans of hers will love the story; new readers will want more of her books! Do yourself a favor and pick this one up today!

Jace just left an interview to be an accountant for a firm in the city. While he was sitting there he realize this isn't really what he wanted to do because a definite office all day long. Dana Evans is a teacher and she's looking for a teaching position. When she's rushing down the sidewalk she runs into a brick wall who just happens to be Jace. Before he can even get her name she's running grabbing her papers and gone. He's also a Carpender with his uncle and the sizes might be what he likes a lot more sunshine outside just overall better for a werewolf. He has no way to get a hold of whoever the girl was it ran into him until he sees her one day and a yard that he had his uncle are building a gazebo. I didn't care for this book it wasn't as good as the other books that I have read in the series that was a little disappointed. To me it was slow so I just gift and read the last chapter sorry.

This story is short, fast paced and easy to follow. I read this book in one sitting and liked parts of this story.
I will admit that I did find this story long winded in parts. I felt like the story was drawn out longer than it needed to be. I didn’t feel much chemistry between Jace and Dani. I liked them as a couple but I saw no spark between them.
I liked that Tiny helped get the truth. He didn’t need to but he did. He was a good friend to Dani.
I liked the ending to this book, it was sweet. I liked that Dani and Jace got the happily ever they deserved.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a nice read.

Loved this book.

I absolutely loved this book, I was pulled it right from the start.
I loved the main characters, there were twists and turns and surprises which I didn't see coming, making the book extra special for me.
This is one of the best shifter books I have read in a while and vi have read a few.
Abbie Zanders never fails to create great stories that keep you captivated in them.
I look forward to what is next.
Abbie Zanders is one of my favourite authors I love her books.

Jace, a werewolf, runs into Dani, literally, in the city after an interview. From that first run-in, he can't get her off his mind. Imagine his surprise when the house he is working on with his uncle is actually where Dani is living. After a week of hell searching for her, trying to find her scent, he finds here right under his nose. Dani, a human, has no idea that Jace wants to make her his mate. She knows what he is and doesn't care.

Abbie Zanders always knocks it out of the park! Thank you for another great read!

Falling For The Werewolf is a fantastic paranormal romance. This is a very quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Zanders has provided readers with a well-written book and an awesome line up of characters. Jace is a shifter and isn't happy interviewing for finance jobs. Dani is a new graduate applying for teaching jobs. Jace and Dani's story is loaded with drama, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to my next book by Abbie Zanders. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I read this ARC book for my honest opinion. Jace literally bumps into Dani as his leaving a job interview. He is immdiately enamored by her but she gets away before he gets her name and number. Fortunately for him they end up meeting again and the romance begins. I really enjoyed this story, I liked that Abbie Zanders was able to give so much detail and clear picture in a short story. Plus you had the added bonus of Amos and Bess.

This story broke my darn heart. Jace and Dani had the picture-perfect meeting, the picture-perfect re-meeting, and a smooth start with some minor bickering. However, that all changes when some past flame comes between them

Zanders’ writing is phenomenal. She weaves a perfect little story that is filled with ups and downs and emotions. Loving these Howls Romance reads. Great books for a quick check out of reality.

I love Abbie Zanders’ books, and this was another great book. Jace is a werewolf and Dani is human. They run into one another on the street in the city, and through a twist of fate, they end up living in the same town. Sparks fly when the two of them meet again. However, someone is working against the two to keep them apart. There is romance, suspense, and drama. It is a great read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

Small town politics

Our hero is loyal and honest and can't see himself in corporate city life, his wolf wants the open sky above him. Our heroine wants to teach and she loves life in the small town with her aunt. The bad gal is spoiled and vindictive, wanting her way and everyone else can get out of the way. Good thing there are honest folks in town and some of them have the skills necessary to set things right.

Cute shifter read

This is a story that begins with instance mate recognition but hiccups happen that almost negate the HEA. It's a quick but well developed story. While there is mention of shifting, the story is not about the shifting experience. It's about the romance. It only got 4 stars because was not long enough of a story for me. The story was well developed, I just wanted more.

I love all of Abbie's books as you are guaranteed a happy ending and I love that. The characters will have lots of twists and turns to get there, but that makes it fun. Jace and Dani's story is not different. Jace and Dani's story is such a heart wrenching but sweet one. It shows how believing everything others say can sometimes be the worst possible thing you can do.

A Wolf's Love

Jace is a Werewolf shifter and Dani a human. This book is about finding the one you love. Jace instantly knows Dani is his mate, but a past lover comes back to ruin what he has just found. Add a little heartbreak that brought a tear to my eye. Paranormal romance fans are going to love this book, but anything Abbie Zanders writes is 5 stars in my book!!!

Awesome Book!

This was such a great story. The storyline was well-written and interesting. Dani was a human in a shifter city. Have was a werewolf head over heals for her. However, what story wouldn't be God without a little drama?? The characters were unique and so lovable. Must Read !!

A sweet romantic story

This is a true romance story, with characters that will have you loving them immediately. The story IS all about Dani and Jace falling in love and the trouble that a spoiled unhappy ex can wreak on their happiness. It is a sweet story with a few hot and spicy scenes, definitely a fun story to get lost in!

Jace and Dani have a great Shifter/Human relationship. I love reading Shifter romances lately, and Werewolves aren't half bad. Their story holds romance, drama, and humor. The characters are great and well developed. I enjoyed watching these two fall in love, and Jace convincing Dani that she was his mate. Definitely recommend to everyone.
