[Siren The Stormy Glenn ManLove Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, shape-shifter, M/M, HEA] My name is Bob. It's just Bob. Not even Robert or Roberto or anything as exciting as that. It's just Bob. Bob Mills. It's not a fancy name or a name that inspires great romantic tales. No one writes odes to Bob. No one screams Bob during great heights of passion. There are no great masterpieces with Bob as the main character. I can't even think of any fictional characters named Bob. To make matters worse, I'm an accountant and I wear glasses. I own a cat. I have a library card, and I actually use it. If the karmic universe could have crapped on someone, I was it. Exciting, right? Yeah, no. There is nothing exciting in my life. Ever. That all changed when someone put a contract out on my This book is written in the first-person point of view of both main characters. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

The story was quite unbelievable! First off, it started with the blurb. Why would the author do that? Start a book with a huge part of the blurb itself? And the events that happened can only be called believable if you live in a crazy world! Bob and Mustachio, okay, Shade too, were cute, but the plot was just......whoosh!

This was… weird. I’m normally all for the weird, but I felt like this story had no body and therefore it was just the weirdness that was left.

Bob is a young guy, a shy virgin with a somewhat boring job as a junior accountant. That’s why he is very surprised to find the hot guy he saw at the diner in his bed one morning. Turns out this guy is Shade, who is sent to kill Bob. Of course it seems Shade doesn’t want to kill Bob but ravish him instead..

I do have to admit there were some parts I did like about this. I do love a big stronger man sweeping in and claiming the young innocent virgin and we had plenty of that in this.

Unfortunately I had the idea that Bob was not that smart. He just accepts that a man breaks into his apartment and has sex with him in the middle of the nigh. And when he wakes up he doesn’t remember said sex, and simply gets seduced again. There was also biting and claiming without any consent or knowledge of Shade being a shifter. It was more of a, hey, I want you, you’re my mate, I’m gonna sex you up and claim you, and I don’t really care what you think about it.

Luckily for Shade Bob was all aboard this plan, despite only having agreed after the fact..

It had potential, but it was still a weird book.

*** This is a cute, short, shifter tale with a snarky vibe !
The story of Bob. Ordinary accountant, Bob.

He's fired and then finds out he's on a hit list. He's too plain for anything this exciting to happen. The stranger he saw at the coffee shop, shows up at his house, and Bob thinks he dreamt about the super sexy sizzle. Nope.
Mr. Sexy is real, Shade is a Panther shifter and * something more.

Hit men start showing up to kill him, but when he's scented, they protect him instead. There is a bad guy, a kidnapping, some violence, a rescue and a twist, plus more sassiness.

This is a fun novella with everything we like. It's book one of Assassins, Inc., Stormy Glenn's new series, and I like all of these interesting characters. I will be waiting for more.
ENJOY !

**2.5 Stars**

I love Stormy Glenn and her cheesy goodness but this was not a favorite of mine. It was a bit rushed and something was missing for me. I liked that they're true mates and drawn together right away. But, the rest of the story was just okay. I think it could have benefited from being longer.

This was so adorable. Hehe, Bob! I loved him and his personality. Thought he was perfect for Shade! Loved them both. Great start to a new series...

These stories are perfect if you want a bit of fantasy and low angsty plot. The main characters are cute, specially bob, it was so nice to read on his pov!
For me is TOO much insta , but since they are mates I guess is what is expected xD

The fact that I am an avid Stormy Glenn fan is only a small part of why I wanted to read this novella. The much bigger part is the blurb. Seriously. How could I possibly resist that? I needed to get to know Bob and to find out what happened. I rarely deny myself much, so it was a given I'd be reading Bob's story.

I fell for Bob right from the start and the feeling just continued. I was angry on his behalf when his company fired him because someone accused him of falsifying records for a former client. Bob is far too honorable and honest to ever do something so unethical. What he doesn't understand, though, is how he wakes up to the gorgeous man from the coffee shop, naked in his bed. Wait. Bob is naked, too. What is going on?

Shade is a panther shifter and an assassin. He's very, very, good at his job but he's going to have to skip his latest million-dollar contract because the mark is his mate. Now he has to figure out why someone wants Bob dead, and protect them both. Of course, first he has to explain that he claimed Bob, he was here to kill him, and he's a panther. Oh, and that Bob's ginormous cat, Mustachio, is a Maine Coon, a fact Bob seems to be clueless about.

“You…you…” Bob’s eyes were saucer wide. “You’re not human?”
I cocked my head slightly, confused by the growing fear in my mate. “No, I’m a panther.”
“Holy bunny bits.” Bob gasped. “You really are the more dominant cat.”

Loved this! Seriously. The conspiracy was suspenseful, the love was real, and the sex was hot. Not to mention meeting a few of Shade's co-workers, so to speak, and I would dearly love the opportunity to see more of them. Bob is absolutely perfect and it made me very happy to see him and Shade together.

I really wanted to like this story....and I didn't hate it, but. The character Voice of Bob is annoying. Not only is he annoying, but he doesn't feel like a real person. And beyond that, he's a grown man that been reduced to a child. He is constantly asking his mate questions and "No, Baby, blah blah blah" "Yes, Baby, blah blah blah" questions about everything and the response sounds like his mate is helping a child learn. Then you've got the fact that his mate has a fascination with his name and loves to add Bob into every sentence.

I LOVE the world building-I love that shifters put mates first, I love that the other two assassins stopped hunting him, I love that they aren't mercilessly crazed evil. I do not love the interactions between Bob and Shade and how Bob sounds like a child most of the time, and not like a real person the other times. It's told in alternating povs, and while Shade's is bearable and better, Bob's pov is choppy, and uses "I" too much, and just no.

It's not a terrible story, I've read worse. And I kept reading because I loved the premise. But the characters themselves? At least Bob and anyone when they're interacting with Bob? Needs work.

3.7 stars. Cute, sweet, and too short. Plain nerdy Bob reminded me of Bob in the Bob Newhart TV show. This story was similar to Stormy Glenn's The Cat’s Meow. Even though Shadow and Bob were fated mates, the first sex scene could be labeled dub con since Bob was asleep.

Stormy Glenn books are usually a hit or miss with me, miss more than hit actually.... but to my surprise this one was not so bad.

As usually with mass produced smut you sometimes need to suspend your beliefs to make it through some of these Siren productions, and this one was no different, it was also a little cheesy. Lucky for me though, I was looking for light mindless reading today (actually for a few months now...) It was also a nice surprise that this was a shifter/fated mates book. I don’t recall if that was ever in the blurb or not. And I don’t happen to check it’s goodreads categories.

“You should go.” I whispered my suggestion because I really didn’t want Shade to go.

It nearly broke my heart just thinking about it. I wasn’t sure when the man had become so important to me, but I think it happened right about the time I woke up in his arms this morning. Geez, had it only been this morning? It felt like a hundred years ago.

“Not gonna happen, babe.” “Shade—” “Mate means forever, Bob.”

“Forever?” I echoed. Forever was a really long time. Shade’s smile sent my emotions soaring.
“Forever, baby.”

I reached into one of the kitchen drawers and pulled out a stack of hand towels before tossing them in Shade’s direction. Next, I opened to bottom drawer next to the sink. My parents always kept a junk drawer when I was growing up. The habit had been one I adopted when I moved away from home. Now, I was glad I had. I pulled out the duct tape and tossed it at Shade. “Patch yourself up before you bleed all over my forever.”

Shade chuckled as he grabbed the pile of stuff I had thrown at him and began doctoring his wound. “I guess we know who wears the pants in this relationship.”

3.75 Stars Dream Mate - True That

This was a fun quick read. It was reminiscent of Glenn's THE CAT'S MEOW, which I so thoroughly enjoyed that I purchased both the first and revised editions. Bob is the male version of a Plain Jane. He knows he's vanilla - just the Brown version. Brown hair and brown eyes. Neither are exceptional, no highlights or hazel flecks. Dark framed glasses. Ordinary looking. Nothing stands out. Bob considers himself boring, but he's greatly loved by the parents he has dinner with every Sunday and his huge cat, Mustachio. His parents are very proud of their junior Accountant son.

But Bob wishes he had something - anything that would bring the love of of a man into his mundane existence which consists of a very staid routine. A routine that includes going to work, grocery shopping, cleaning his apartment, taking care of his cat, spending time weekly with his parents, as well as going to the library. Oh and going to a coffee shop across the street from his job during his break. It is during one of these breaks that his life changes forever.

Panther shifters are an integral part of this story. Their animals are known to live solitary lives. This makes them excellent contractors in the Assassin business. The reader is introduced to several Panthers and the coalition leader. The shifters are large, cunning, stealthy, and ruthless. Many seem to have names beginning with the letter "S" which can be a a bit confusing: Shade, Stone, Samson, Stryker, Sinclair just to list a few.

One notable exception to their extreme independence and loner existence is finding a True Mate. Something that rarely happens, but when it does it is a cause for congratulations, incredulity, and possessiveness; protective instincts emerge, as does joy and envy. The person who is most effected by this mating is a very deserving junior Accountant. The effects are both positive and negative, because finding his "Dream Man" turns into a Nightmare.

I hope this is the beginning of a new series. A couple of the Panthers in particular Sinclair and Samson, I hope find their mates. I look forward to reading their stories.

Okay, I have to say that I had fun reading this and loved the comedy in the book. The biggest reason I didn't give it five stars is because I found it very similar to Stormy Glenn's Assassin's Pride series. Both have an assassin after someone. Both have the assassin falling for their target. Both have a cat shifter. Finally, in both, the person being targeted is kinda uptight and regimented. I guess just the way it played out made me think of the other book a little too much.

Now, I'm not saying they are identical. They aren't. There are differences. Those differences are what got this book four stars. I like that the main character is an accountant. You wouldn't normally think of them being an assassin's target unless they work for the mob.

I guess all I can say is that I had fun reading this. Sure, most of it is unbelievable, but I tend to like reading that. I just like reading something light and fun sometimes. This book felt that way to me.

Hello, huge Stormy Glenn fan here and she didn't let me down with this one! Bob is not "just" a junior accountant... he is sweet, charming, a little needy and a lot thoughtful and caring... just what his would-be assassin, Shade, really needs in a mate! *sigh*

I look forward to reading the stories about the rest of the gang... Sinclair intrigues me! ;D

So, the plot of this book is bonkers and has so many dangling threads and really doesn't make sense in some places. The paranormal world building is rough and jaggaed.

However, Bob and his voice and his cat are the star of this show and he makes everything super fun. He gets his man and saves himself and is lovely.

This was ok. Not exactly a winner but an easy read to run through.

The basic premise was good enough. Shifters exist and they got revealed to the world fifty years ago. Now they either live normal human lives, live on shifter communes, or live just next to humanity taking advantage of it. Panther shifters do the latter by working as assassins. Shade is one such assassin but his most recent mark, an accountant named Bob, turns out to be his mate. Everything gets turned on its head because mates are sacred and no panther will take the job, but an open contract means open season on his mate. The panthers must find out who is after Bob and why.

This has some big insta-love going on. Mates always have the possibility of that and this one committed to that hard. Shade and Bob are immediately gaga over each other, lives being planned, sexy times being had, no question. It worked for the sexy times and the lust was easy to see, but the jump to love was a bit much.

Bob was quite a weird character in this. He had no sense of self preservation as well as a bit of naivete to general situations. He actually wakes up to find out that Shade is in his house, not once but twice, and isn't freaked out either time. Sure, the first time there is some sort of implication that he thinks he is still dreaming. But the second time Bob honestly wakes up to a strange man in his bed and says it would only be polite to say hello. Bob hasn't lost any moments in his memory, talked at length about locking his door, and has no idea how the man got there, but best say hello. Nope. Just no. This man had no sense in the world which made him very heard to have as one of the two lead characters.

Shade is his own contradiction of a character. He got his name because he's just an awesome and stealthy assassin that blends into the shadows. Shade prides himself on how unnoticeable he is and in genuinely surprised that Bob notices him. Yet, Shade is described as a damn hot, tall, dark man that has a presence. He literally walks into a coffee shop, cuts the line, glares at someone who dares to question that, and then converses with his mark. Somehow the man believes all of this to be unnoticeable. With the descriptions of the two Bob would be much better as the non-descrip assassin while Shade is a very noticeable hotty. It just didn't add up.

It's seems pretty clear that his series is about the assassins we meet in this book (and possibly some others) meeting their mates. They will likely all be easy reads but after this one it isn't clear if they will be worth it to read.

Bob Mills is just Bob – not Robert or Roberto but just Bob. Even worse, he is an accountant, wears glasses, and has a library card that he uses regularly. You cannot get more humdrum than that. Then someone puts a contract out on his life and his life goes from boring to explosive.

You cannot help but fall in love with Bob. He goes through life thinking everything about him is unremarkable. Then in one day all that changes. For some reason, there is a price on his head and the money just keeps going up. He is so endearing as he struggles with all the baffling changes. His rescuer comes from a source completely foreign to him and it is fun to watch as he tries to come to grips with all the changes. A delightful tale from beginning to end, Stormy Glen shows once again that she is a master storyteller. Don’t miss Just Bob. It is the first book in the Assassins Inc. series.

I'm not even sure where to start, this book is just ridiculous. The story is really short, like 126 pages, it's not long enough to make fully formed characters or storyline much less have a decent ending (if you can call it that, let's just say this book is the equivalent of a couple of chapters with a cliffhanger). I liked Bob's character, just a regular everyday guy who gets in a super crazy situation, but the shifters never get a chance to be more than two dimensional cliches (muscles and growling). There is zero worldbuilding. I read this book because I was looking for some snarky goofy fun but it just didn't pan out for me, Bob is the only one with snark and there's so much coming out of him it's more like projectile snark vomiting than a funny zing here or there. This book had potential, a different idea and some fun possibilities for unique characters, but it just didn't work.

3.5 Star (Rounding it up to 4)

I have hesitations when it comes to assassin love interest tropes, but I'm a fan of Stormy Glenn and I saw a reviewer whom I follow on Goodreads give a review to this book so my interests were piqued and I just had to pick it up.

First off, I wasn't disappointed. Just Bob was relatable, adorable, and sweet. It's short and the only smex scene may kinda be a bit of a dub-con (depends on how you may look at it), but it was fine by me.

Bob was such a relatable ordinary yet sarcastic character I couldn't help but love and Shade was an alpha I could totally fawn over.

As a pilot, a lot of characters were introduced. All of them will star in their own books as sequels. Would I read the sequel? Hell yes. I can't wait.

PHENOMENALLY silly. Not horrible, just silly. And severely in need of a better editor, including shifting (ha!) back and forth between first- and third-person voice. And I was somewhat annoyed that Bob never addressed how it seems he either had his first sex with Shade while he thought he was dreaming OR that mint-chocolate chip ice cream makes him blackout drunk, as Bob didn't remember why his shoulder hurt once he woke up the next morning. (But not his ass? Not freaking likely, since the previous night was also only the second time he'd bottomed!) Interesting how Bob says he could never forget Shade after meeting him at the coffeehouse, but he has no memory of being knotted less than 8 hours ago?! But I digress. Amusing but don't expect any internal consistency to this smut.

Poor synopsis, nothing about it being a shifter romance. Shade (that name jfc) was seriously Alpha and there wasn't much chemistry. Just "I own you." I would call their first "coupling" dubious consent though. Sure Bob wanted to have sex with Shade before he fell asleep and while dreaming, but he had just woken up and thought he was still in the dream. So Shade screws him (without actual lube), bites him on the shoulder claiming him w/o consent, and then the whole knot thing which I'll admit I don't understand but it doesn't sound comfortable.

I liked the 30lb Maine Coon though, why couldn't it have been the shifter?

Honestly, Sinclair is the only reason this isn't two stars. I'm looking forward to the next book, but this was a race to finish it so I could move on. It had some humorous moments, but IT'S NOT OKAY TO SNEAK INTO SOMEONE'S HOUSE AND MATE THEM WHEN THEY'RE NOT WHOLLY CONSCIOUS!!! That's not sweet or romantic; it's creepy and unhealthy. Bob thought it was a DREAM until several hours into morning. Mehhhhh, premise had promise but execution leaves something to be desired,..

This was ridiculously funny! I guess I didn’t read the blurb closely, but I was pleasantly surprised that this was a “fated mate” shifter story. Bob is sooooo clueless and his mate, is totally Alpha and the two extremes mesh really well.

There is surprisingly little sex – though what’s in here is hot! We get a bit of a mystery but most of this is a pretty hysterical comedy of errors.

Highly enjoyable!

An average book by Stormy Glenn

These books are my absolute guilty pleasure. Light, fluffy without too much substance.

This book actually had a bit of a suspence in it, but as always, it got a bit buried in all the fluff.
The book is also very much a repeat of other books by this author, just mixed up a bit.

Still.... it is my guilty pleasure and i did enjoy my time visiting these assassins.

This was a cute story about Bob and his assassin, Shade. It was a pleasant read, however, I just wish that Bob and Shade would have had more personal moments together to get to know each other better, other than just sleeping together. I really liked Bob's cat who I think should have gotten his own story. :)

For an erotica/bookporn it was ok. But I don't know why I keep buying Stormy Glenns books. Just because I once enjoyed their stories doesn't mean I have to keep buying (and then not reading) them.

I expected that this one would be a bit better because of the title. But nope. Very meh. And at times very very very dumb.
