For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo …

Will Romero, scion of his bear shifter clan, has returned to Verona to take over the Romero business … and to continue the centuries-long feud raging between the Romeros and Carpathians. But when Will sneaks into a forbidden Carpathian masked ball, he collides with Jules Carpathian, and his life is changed in an instant. The only daughter of the Carpathian clan chief, Jules is Will’s sworn enemy. But she’s also the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen, and he can’t resist how he’s drawn to her.

Jules Carpathian, a witch, has always been the perfect daughter, the perfect Carpathian. So perfect, in fact, that she’s engaged to a man she doesn’t love. But when she learns it’s all a lie—even her fiancé’s intentions—Jules is left questioning everything … even the idea that the Romeros are her enemy. For the first time in her life, Jules is ready to make her own decisions. And she chooses Will Romero. But is their love enough to bridge the gap between their family histories?

Can the stars be rewritten for true love, or is there no escaping their tragic fate?

Even in the world of the paranormal there are feuds between families, clans, etc. Feuds that last longer than the memories of how they started. The Romeros and the Carpathians’ feud has lasted centuries with no sign of letting up any time soon.

Will Romero, a bear shifter, sneaks into the Carpathian masquerade ball and finds himself bewitched by a beautiful mystery lady behind a dazzling mask. When he discovers she is the daughter of the Carpathian chief, Will refuses to believe they are over before they can even begin. Jules becomes publicly engaged to a devious suitor who has plans for the Carpathian dynasty. A witch, Jules is caught between her heart and her duty as a daughter, until she finds what a snake her fiancé truly is.

Will these two lovestruck lovers find a happy ending or will they become like a paranormal re-enactment of the original lovers?

Lily Cahill’s ROMEO AND JULIET has all of the passion, the intrigue and the pain of Shakespeare’s duo, but the addition of the paranormal world is a fresh take on this well-told tale. A quick read with some insta-love, heated passion and two lovers determined to spend eternity together. Light and completely entertaining, take an evening to see what happens when love knows no bounds and two lovers are determined to spend eternity together, no matter what.

I received an ARC edition from Lily Cahill in exchange for my honest review.

This book has also appeared places title "Star Crossed." Paranormal/Shifters. Retelling of "Romeo and Juliet." MF. HEA. Standalone in an interconnected series.

Writing is acceptable. Characters felt a little two-dimensional. However, I'm always a sucker for romances based off of fairy tales and other literary genres, so it was an escape for a few hours. I would read the next one because of that.

Romeo story

The story was not clean. Had enough cuss words. I was lost many times in this story and have no idea what was talking about. I feel like I was completely missing a piece of the puzzle. The story ends on a cliffhanger and you have to join some kind of Club 2 finish it. Wasn't a big fan of this one.

True Love

A different spin on Romeo and Juliet and I liked it. Both main characters were likeable and had chemistry. A few lines from the original were thrown in and the ending was interesting although abrupt. I felt I needed more, luckily I did get more from the bonus on the authors website.

Thought this might be a bit predictable when I saw the title but very pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed the depiction of the characters and what a twist at the end.

Didn’t really like it... no character building in the story line, for a fictional read it was rather boring... was definitely not left wanting more from this story.

I got this as a free Kindle deal and I really enjoyed it. I love that there were quotes from the play. But it wasn't a scene by scene retelling. It is reimagined.

This is the 5th book I read by Lily Cahill. I'm sorry I stopped reading this story 📖 at chapter 2 because it didn't grab my interest.
