She’s got a crush on the delivery guy. He’s got a billion-dollar secret.
I recognize the sound of his truck turning off in front of my building. Not only do I recognize it, but my pulse picks up and I get all hot and bothered. Then I hear the low growl cutting out, followed by the clank of metal as he pulls up the back door to grab my package…. Grab my package? That sounds so dirty. Which is probably appropriate given some of the fantasies I’ve had about him. My obsession with the new, mysterious delivery driver is crazy. Intense. Distracting. The last thing I need is to be crushing on a six-foot-something distraction with a dirty grin. But my friends have other plans.
First in a sexy new rom com series! The second book in this series is currently available in the Love in Transit anthology.
I had a bit of a hard time getting into this one and the beginning moved very fast making it hard to feel a connection between the characters. Once I was able to get into it a little before the half way mark, where the characters were together more I started to really enjoy it. It was a cute story that I enjoyed once I got to know the characters more. The ending had me wanting to jump right to the next one so I'm excited to see what else this author comes up with.
After recently finishing a book that left me feeling down because of the angst -this book was just the ticket to make me feel better. It was sweet and not overly angsty. It was about a couple, very different from each other, who fall in love and try to get their HEA.
Jake was a great hero. A workaholic who wasn't portrayed as a manwhore. He was reluctant to start anything with Jana at first because of his crazy work schedule, but he just couldn't seem to stay away. He couldn't get her out of his mind and he finally went after what he wanted.
Jana was a hoot. She was crushing on the new delivery driver and let it slip to her nosy friends. They went out of their way to make sure Jake had deliveries to Jana as much as possible.
-No cheating -No ow/om drama -minimal pushing away (long distance relationship) -no violence -low angst -pretty steamy -it had a cute epilogue but it was only 6 months out. Obviously, I needed more.
3.5⭐ An Undercover Boss who falls for one of the customers. As it's turned out, I've had completely false expectations of this book. I have been looking for more developed story and what I've got was insta-love, fast paced easy romance with no twists. Nevertheless, I have to say I actually enjoyed both main characters and I found it quite funny. Overall it was a cute, steamy and quick read.
Personal Delivery by Ainsley Booth is the first book in the Billionaire Secrets series. The book would probably be best described as a bit of an erotic rom/com. What you have here is taking a mix of the television show Undercover Boss and mixing it with the female fantasy of a hot man in uniform then tossing on a bit of Cinderella vibe and the fantasy of a handsome billionaire sweeping you off your feet.
Jana is a single gal who gets a lot of work packages delivered to her home while surrounded by her cats. When a hot new delivery guy takes over the route her fantasies begin and when she shares with a friend she suddenly finds herself with more packages showing up bringing back her favorite driver each day.
Under the uniform Jake is actually a billionaire who just acquired the shipping company his is investigating by working undercover. The best part of this new task however are his daily stops at Jana's house and he finds himself wanting to get to know her better.
To be honest I picked this title up as an Amazon freebie to read as part of a reading challenge and was just hoping I wouldn't be summing up the experience with "you get what you paid for" so color me surprised to find this one actually a rather enjoyable read. Jana was rather likable and funny straight away and then there are plenty of steamy moments between Jana and Jake. And to top it all off we didn't have the fly off the handle reveal to Jake being a billionaire to toss in what seems the required amount of angst but instead just a fun story between the two. So to sum it all up instead of saying you get what you paid for I will say you just can't beat free and try this one out for a bit of fun.
I'm ambivalent about this one. On the one hand, I liked that it had a nice and sweet romance, and there were characters whom I would like to have as friends. The hero and the heroine were lovely together. It was obvious to me that sparks flew between them every time they were around each other. But—well, on the other hand, I felt like there was not much going on in the story. The absence of the drama was one big problem for me. I found the story, especially in the second half, lackluster and tiresome.
Nevertheless, it was fortunate that this book was short and it didn’t take me long to finish it. So, I think I’m going with 3 stars for this one.
This was perfection for a shorter read. It had romance, hot sexy times, lol moments...everything. Jake is super hot but also super sweet. Jana is the type of girl you want to be friends with. She’s funny and sweet and has an adorkable side. I will definitely be reading about the rest of the guys as well. This was my first read by this author and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of her stories as well. Read this one if you’re in the mood for a rom-com with great characters and low angst.
Jana Pritchard is a greeting card illustrator working from home and the highlight of her day starts to become the arrival of the hot delivery guy.
His nametag might read Dane but he’s really Jake Aston, now CEO of the recently acquired SwiftEx delivery corporation, and he’s gone undercover to gain insight into the mechanics of his new company.
Right off the bat, I gotta admit I was jealous of Jana. I mean half the time I can’t even get my delivery guys to ring the damn doorbell so I know I have a package before they take off yet alone wait for me to answer the door and then make pleasant conversation. But Jake is as smitten with Jana as she is with him.
Points on this one for an original premise. It’s getting harder these days to find romantic set ups I’ve not read many times before so this was a cute new angle for two people to meet. It’s not new to the porn industry I’m sure so points again for taking a porn trope and turning it into a sweet and sexy story.
There’s no shortage of either sweetness or sex in this tale. Jake is an all round great guy. He’s been a workaholic so he’s thankfully not a manwhore. He’s devoted to making his companies better, and then he’s devoted to making Jana…well pleasured.
“‘I got my fingers wet, Jana. And it was the best thing I ever felt. My tongue is fucking jealous.’”
Told via Jana and Jake's alternating first person POV, there are plenty of steamy encounters here. And if you are looking for a smooth story of how two people get together and make it work then this is a no drama/no angst read to pick up. I can’t begin to tell you how refreshing it was that there were no scheming, trouble-making exes or contrived conflict, nor is either character broken or troubled. It’s just two available singles who find a connection and go with the flow, making their love story feel down-to-earth even though it’s also a Cinderella tale.

Really enjoyed the start of this new series by Ainsley Booth! I love her dirty heroes and Jake was no exception. Personal Delivery was cute, sweet, drama-free and oh-so-sexy! I loved Jake and Jana and I can't wait to read the stories about the other billionaires.
Definitely recommend if you like light and sexy novels!
3.75 stars. My review: I've read a few of this author's books. My favorite so far is Prime Minister The premise of Personal Delivery is Jana, who works mostly at home-crushing on the delivery guy. Not UPS, Not FedEx, but "SwiftEx". Jake is the new CEO of the parent company (Corporation) that recently acquired SwiftEx. Something is not quite right. Jake is determined to find out what-from the bottom and on up. Jake's ivory towers are in NYC, but he does an Undercover Boss-type delivery route in Baltimore. Jana lives in Baltimore. With her cats. Jana is a greeting card illustrator.
The "meet cute" between Jake & Jana is entertaining. Jana mentions her crush on her delivery man to her friends & they barrage her with cat toys- delivered by none other than Jake. This happens several times. The attraction becomes mutual. Yes, insta-lust. A lot. For a short book, the amount of sex was way over average for a contemporary romance. Jana and Jake are very likable. Jake is quite the giving lover. Size matters. Jake keeps his true identity a secret for a little while. As I was reading, it kinda felt "normal" for a young career woman to hook up with a self made billionaire. (really!) This is first person POV, alternating Jake/Jana. No ow, no om. Very low angst. Cute, fun, sexy story. Can be a standalone. HEA There's a book 2 that continues with Jake's friends Toby & Cara in Love in Transit *It's the 2nd story in the novella anthology - Ainsley Booth's story is called "St George Station". (it's an even shorter novella). I'm reading it now.
A fun concept and a strong voice undermined by the lack of conflict and tension. ° This one is super unfortunate, because Booth has a strong, fun voice and can write a hot scene...but a strong voice couldn't overcome the absolute lack of tension and conflict, so it ended up feeling about 100 pages too long.
So here's the setup: Billionaire hero goes Undercover Boss as a delivery driver. That's a concept that promises all kinds of awesome conflict. There are secrets! What happens when she discovers the truth? Will she feel betrayed, hurt? What obstacles will lie in the path of their happy ending?
The answer is ... nothing happens.
Remember those plot charts from literature class that show the rising tension created by internal and external conflict? The key, of course, is RISING -- and the chart for this book is flat.
He's a billionaire undercover. She finds out before he tells her and is perfectly fine with it. Accepts it easily.
And that's all that happens. But the story goes on for another one hundred pages as the heroine and hero continue to have sex and move in together and go to a gala and have hot sex...
Never once dealing with any tension at all. Never arguing. Never having any significant conflict come up between them or in their outside lives (except some easily solved work conflicts.) Nothing to keep them apart. I kept waiting for something to happen. I kept waiting for the book to end because I wasn't sure why it continued. She'd found out about his real identity, and he was great, and she was a little uncertain but overall fine with everything, a real trooper.
So there was no character arc. They never had to overcome anything so they never had to grow emotionally. They just easily fell in love and had hot sex and there was absolutely no reason to make him a secret billionaire because that conflict never mattered. They didn't have to fight for anything. There were no stakes, no threat of losing anything.
Which all adds up to no conflict, no tension ... no plot.
A pity. The actual prose is good enough that this story could have been great. Instead it's a lot of nothing.
-great build up from meeting > Love -Alpha male -both not virgins -H not a man whore -No OW Drama -slower build up -Hot sex senses -H was completely devoted -h was funny -LOL moments -HEA but no epilogue! I wanted more!
This was a steamy quickie with a cute heroine and a smooth talking hero.
Dan aka Jake has recently taken over a delivery service and to really get a feel for the issues that need correcting or improvement, he’s jumped in as a delivery driver for firsthand experience.
What he gets is a meeting with Jana and the sparks fly between them. But will Jana like Jake the CEO as much as she likes Dan the delivery guy?
I liked this quick read, it was sweet, sexy and both MCs were low maintenance and relatable. There was plenty of sweetness, heat and humor. For a short read the characters were well developed and the pacing was just right.
Would I recommend? Definitely recommend for a short comfy romance when you have a couple of hours. I read this on a road trip and it was just right to while away the time.
I've been a fan of Zoe/Ainsley's books for a while but I think I am done. She's cranking books out too fast or something (quantity over quality?) and they keep getting worse and worse. This book was only 40k words long but felt like 100k because it was SO. BORING. It had absolutely zero conflict! I've read some rom coms without much conflict but this one had none at all. No doubts, hesitations, fights, nothing. The sex was boring too, maybe because I didn't feel any passion at all or connection to the characters - maybe because both of them were flat and had no flaws, character arcs, or anything to overcome in order for them to be together. Plus it wasn't funny or all that interesting - read like a bad first draft that needed to be fleshed out a lot more. Even at 99c I felt cheated for wasting my time and money on it. Even rom coms need a little conflict! So disappointed.
This was a such a pleasant and enjoyable read. Hardly any drama. Just two people figuring out life, love, relationships. It was nice and easy. Jake Aston is pulling an Undercover Boss move when he purchases a courier company. On his route, the cute and delectable illustrator Jana. And I saw what you did there Ainsley Booth....naming your characters after Jana Aston. Sneaky and smart. Insta-lust and a natural progression into a relationship with sexy scenes that were hot to boot as well. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.
I love a good billionaire story and this one was as easy going as you can get.
He's gorgeous, has zero baggage, isn't into any weird shit and he's well hung. She's uncomplicated and inoffensive, if a bit dull.
The chemistry was good, the smut was hot and he's got a filthy mouth. I was expecting the conflict to kick in but it never did. Some may find that boring, but I was in the mood for an uncomplicated, escapist read and this hit the spot.
Blurb: She’s got a crush on the delivery guy.
This was really cute! It’s low angst and no ow/om drama. I liked the idea that Jana thought Jake was just a delivery truck driver and didn’t know he was actually the owner and billionaire. This was great for a quick fun read in between heavy reads. Thanks for the rec Janie!!!
4.5 stars- Quick secret identify novel with no angst
Jake is a delivery guy and is constantly delivering packages to Jana. But the thing is, Jake really isn’t a delivery guy. He actually owns the company that he “works” for.
Jana is in the business of creating greeting cards, which is why she gets to see so much of Jake. Every time they interact, there’s this underlying connection. He’s even been to her house knows that she’s a cat lady. Her nosy friends get into her business, especially when they know that she has a crush on Jake.
Jake realizes that his attraction to Jana is deeper than he thought, which means he’ll have to confess to her about his true identity. Although he’s a workaholic, he realizes that there’s more to life than his work, and being a billionaire is a lot of work. They’ll have to be some compromises in the relationship in order for them to work out.
Oh. Em. Gee. The smexy scenes were 🥵🔥. For such a short book, it really packed a punch when it came to the sex scenes. Jeeezus, they were STEAMY 💦😅. I mean, Jake and Jana already had a pretty strong connection, and as soon as you add in a bed, wowza 🥵!!! The chemistry was thick and their passion was evident every time they were together. I 👏🏻was👏🏻here👏🏻for👏🏻it👏🏻all!!!
I really enjoyed this. It was a quick read and had almost no drama.
⚠️safety squad ⚠️ - no cheating/omd/owd -although there are mentions of the H’s previous relationships, we don’t see any of that causing any kind of drama, because the H only wants the h.
🎇 🎆 🎉 🎈 ✨ 🎊 💕 💞 💕 💞 💕 💞 Omg what a fabulous book. Perfect example of pure romance at its finest. It's almost so rare now a days to find a story where the couple actually FALLS IN LOVE slowly and so sweetly.
I finally had a break in between ARC's, and this book has been on my kindle for a while now, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I was instantly sucked into this story and got so lost in it. Jake Aston is a billionaire and his company just purchased SwiftEx (think FedEx) and it's a mess. Jake decides to pull an "undercover boss" to see where the issues lie. While making deliveries, he meets Jana, who works from home full time as a greeting card designer. Jake and Jana are instantly attracted to each other, and Jake starts making multiple deliveries to Jana, thanks to her friends.
Turns out that Jake is not a delivery guy but a billionaire. When Jana finds out, she doesn't go running. She accepts it. There was zero drama in this book, which was surprisingly refreshing. It was just a story about two people who meet and fall and love. There is one problem - Jana lives in Baltimore and Jake lives in New York.
Jana's friends were very funny, and the banter between Jake and Jana was great. Steamy sex scenes as well.
Overall, this was a fun read (I read this in one day) and I would recommend it.
Short and sweet. I loved the writing style of this author. If you’re looking for short, steamy, funny romance, Go for this book. You won’t be disappointed. 💕
'Personal Delivery' started off cute and funny, but devolved into pages and pages of boring, repetitive sex scenes. There wasn't much going on with a plot or character growth. About 2/3 into the book, I was skimming the pages, which was just as well, as the story and the insta-lust/love was super rushed.
Another thing that bugged the shit out of me was the author's treatment of cat ownership: If a person owns a cat or even multiple cats, he/she has to prepare the home for when they'll be away on extended visits if they can't get a pet sitter. Cat's can't feed themselves and/or clean out their litterboxes. Someone has to do it. At the very least -- and what I do as a cat owner for those rare times I have to be away for three days or so -- is leave lots of dry food and water out, and more than one fresh litter box. In 'Personal Delivery' the heroine Jana is going on ski trips, visiting NYC to be with Jake on extended visits, etc., with no mention of any of this. It's like the cats were in the story only for the cuteness factor when needed. To hell with their feeding and care. LOL I'm glad this book was a freebie, since I don't plan on reading anything else this author has written. Which is a bummer; the story had so much potential.
This isn't released yet but every now and then Ainsley Booth emails out a chapter or two in her newsletters, so I've been reading this since November lol.
I was pleasantly surprised by how cute and fluffy this is, partly because, let's face it, the cover (and title) are reminiscent of a porno. 😳
But this is basically just the story of two people finding a way to be together without the unnecessary drama that seems to randomly pop up in a lot of contemporary romance. (While angst can be good, I typically have to space out my angsty reads or it just gets too depressing.) So kudos to the author for avoiding the manufactured drama I find so annoying in books.
My only complaint is that it might have been a little TOO easy for Jake and Jana...after all, they lived very different lives. I kind of expected a little more tension while they adjusted to each other.
