This was a great starter to a new series by Shayne. From the first page this story was oh so sexy & mysterious and continued to get better and better as the pages went on. So far this is my favorite of hers to date.
Tara and Shade meet at a work function, he knows exactly who she is but she doesn't even know his name. Shade is able to read her like a open book and she has no idea how this mysterious stranger knows truths about her that she hasn't even realized until the exact moment he mentions it.
Even though there circumstances are different at the core they are the same. They both want freedom from the cage that there lives have put them in, both needing the other to soar!! There's a lot standing in there way but, they are determined to prevail.
I'm not one to ever use quotes from books but, there's one from Shaynes book that is so beautiful and I think sums up how in depth her writing is and how complex her characters are.

Ok let me start out- CLIFFHANGER! ugh....
Now, this is a billionaire, new boss, hot, older/ younger, very hot (did I say that) romance story with a ever frustrating ending... I have never been a patient person. The story starts with a dumped Tara meeting a hot stranger who seems to know more about her than should. Next day at work, guess who hot stranger is?
Story read good. It had a few part a little rushed so it didn’t have much chase. But with the ending... can’t wait to see where the story will go and to find out the hidden secrets.

This is an emotionally involving and complex romance. It was just what I have come to expect from Shayne Ford. Without even realizing it Tara has given up on her dreams and just settled for what she has. She settled on a job she's good at but doesn't like and she's settled on a relationship that doesn't make her happy or even leave her satisfied. This realization is brought to her attention when one night she meets a sexy and mysterious man at a work party. Even though this man is a stranger he knows her. It's like he can see deep inside her to all the truths she hides even from herself. Shade is that sexy and mysterious man. He is immediately drawn to Tara even though he doesn't do relationships. Shade has a very complicated past that we learn a bit about during this book. This book is not a standalone. It will leave you with plenty of questions as this is only book one of Shade and Tara's story and this is typical of Shayne Ford's books. I am not usually a fan of cliffhangers, I feel that often they are unwarranted. This is not true with Shayne Ford's book. She writes such complex characters and stories that one single book could not do her work justice. If you enjoy books that will not only entertain but make you wonder and even ask yourself what would I do or I see me in this character. An amazing start to a new series. Full of heat, heart and sexiness it's well worth the read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

I volunteered to read and review an ARC of this book. I have never read a book by this author before, but boy am I glad I put my hand up that day. Shade comes across as rebellious but quite mature for someone his age and you can't help but feel a little sorry for him with the snippets of his life that we learn about. He may come from money, but money can't buy the one thing he desires most.... love. Tara is the one who has settled for second best, but deserves so much better. When she first meets Shade, it is an incredibly hot encounter. What follows would test the patience of a saint. Will their relationship stand the test of time and the obstacles they must overcome? I can't wait to find out. There are two cliff hangers at the end that leave you chomping at the bit to get your hands on the next book.

This book is the best I've read for quite a while. It sucked me in straight away and I literally couldn't put it down. A story about two people in contrasting situations finding love while having to battle family,friends and colleagues. I can't wait for the next book! I received an arc of this book in return for a voluntary review. An awesome book...Shayne Ford triumphs again!!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy, I really enjoyed this book form the first page, it was a brilliant story and it pulled me into the story till i finished it. can Shade and Tara over coming everything that is coming at them, Wait yes there is cliff hangers which only makes you want t get your hands on the next book. Grab a copy now, its a must read. Shayne another great book

Tara is a young woman who thought she was happy with her job or her personal life, but actually had not thought seriously about it until one night she met a man at a company party and they talked among other things, he enlightened her and she seemed shocked that he understood her better than she understood herself. He made her realize that she wasn't happy at her job or in her personal life and especially about the man who she was totally dissatisfied with, he made her think and feel in a way that had never struck her before. She didn't know him and never found out his name that night. But he did make her think and when she came into work on Monday morning everyone in the company was in an uproar over the owners the Hennessy's were in the office. Every female in the building was looking at the tall handsome man talking with her boss Claire with another woman I assumed was his wife but turned out to be his mother. And she didn't like me when she found out that her son had been with me and was still interested. Things happened, Elia, his mother had Claire her boss spying on them and he informed his mother that would not continue to happen. Claire informed Tara that she was expected to train employees in Wisconsin for the next week and Elia informed Shade that he would be going to Europe and Shade decided that he was taking Tara with him. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I purchased this book. I am providing an honest review.

The Beauty of Love
Shade, prodigal son of a ruthless, conniving, and driven mother, has refused to complete college and returned home to the corporate gold he wants no part of. Tara, midlevel and highly productive employee of the corporation, her lackluster life seems to be falling apart around her. Then she runs into Shade and they begin to break free from the chains that bind and build a relationship that makes both of their lives feel worthwhile.
This is the first piece of a beautifully written and descriptive story. The characters are fully developed and portrayed, the sex is emotional and hot, and the storylines are intriguing. Not sure what is to come, but I'm surely looking forward to finding out how it progresses. You had better believe the next book I'm reading is the second part of this trilogy.

Fantastic book! Well written, with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish. Fast paced, steamy read. I absolutely loved this book and can not wait to read the next two books. Tara and Shade meet at a work function, he knows who she is but she doesn't even know his name. Shade is book 1 of the Golden Heir Series. I say this with each review, but it's so true, Shayne Ford never disappoints with her characters or her storytelling. I'm always so impressed and immersed in each one. After spending all his life in a boarding school in Switzerland, Shade has just returned home. He's now 20 yrs old. Tara has been working at the company owned by Shade's family for 6 months in the Sales department. Their meeting at a company function was very unconventional to say the least. Now these two are facing animosity and condemnation from all corners. This is a quick moving story with characters that once again will draw you in. You won't be disappointed.

This is going to be a REALLY good read. The amount of detail and emotion that Shayne is able to put in the books is amazing. The steamy scenes were as some call them extremely “drippy”. I am beyond excited for the next installment. Happy Reading!

Loved it!!
I love how Shade understands Tara so well. And a mistake Tara made is something we all will make at least once in our lives. Which is sticking to someone we thought we love, losing ourselves while loving them and still open our doors to them when they break our hearts & bring us down time after time.
Shade made Tara fight for herself & they are so good together!!!
I can't wait for the next series and see how Shade & Tara will get through the storm that is coming their way!

**I received this ARC in exchange for an honest voluntary review** A great start to a new series even if it ends on the dreaded cliffhanger. Story grabs you from the start & ends with you wanting to know what secrets & plots will arise. Absolutely love Shade's character & an interesting name to say the least. Knows how to assert himself, especially against his mother & be so loving towards Tara. Tara is finding & regrowing into herself. Not a typical romance & most definitely can't wait for the next part of their story. Would recommend! :D

Such an easy and enjoyable read....oh and hot! Took me a while to like Shade but as the story unfold he’s deffo a keeper! The dynamics between mother and son you cat help but feel for him, thank god for Tara!

I have to admit the beginning took me by surprise...since they moved very fast :) and was fearful this was going to get corny. But I got hooked and couldn’t tear myself away. I loved reading about Shade and Tara!!!

A wonderful start to this series. This Bad Boy Billionaire starts out with how fast the chemistry between Shade and Tara are hot and heavy. I have read quite a few books from this author and have yet to find one I haven't liked. She has always manages to catch my attention right away and I try to finish it in one day. FYI this does end in a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see where the rest of this story is gonna end up.

I received an Advance Reader Copy for SHADE (GOLDEN HEIR SERIES Book 1) written by Shayne Ford and voluntarily reviewed this book. Shade Hennessy had his whole life mapped out by his mother, Elia, since he was young enough to be her pawn. He has spent most of young life isolated at a Swiss boarding school, feeling lonely and rejected, but cultivated and molded to become heir to his mother's business empire. All his life, he has resented and hated his mother for the "cage" she has put him in, never feeling free enough to be himself. Shade attends a business event one evening and notices Tara Hart, a newly hired trainer and simply cannot resist "sampling" her.
Tara was supposed to attend this glitzy company event with her boyfriend, but he made some weak excuses and simply didn't even show up to be by her side. She was astounded when she meets a seriously sexy & mysterious man on the terrace and becomes entranced by his worldly astuteness and shrinking of her current predicament, only to be further ensnared by his mesmerizing personality. One thing led to another, and Tara allows herself to enjoy a most memorable night, but then she finds herself horrified to see him with his mother attending an introduction meeting at the company offices soon thereafter. Loving this first part of Shade and Tara's trilogy. Shade is young but has an old heart with insightfulness unimaginable. Tara is cowed by all, her mother, her clueless ex Josh and her boss. Shade is trying to free her from all the constraints she has in her life and clearly succeeding. I just wonder why this brilliant author can make the sex scenes in this novel so hot and perfect that other authors just never seem to get across to their readers. Looking forward to the next part of the trilogy yet dreading his mother Elia interfering. Am so happy that Tara at last told the clueless ex exactly what she thought. But I feel there will be more from him too.

I wanted to like this more than I did, but I just couldn't. I can say that I was very entertained and talked to my friend about so many parts in this story. I even want to read the second book just to know what happens with Shade and Tara's relationship. But the fact that the sex parts of the story were some of the only captivating parts just wasn't enough for me. There were some funny parts in this story though, and I thought it was hilarious how Shade could read Tara like a newspaper. Also Tara's musings about the complacency people get when they're in a long term relationship was really interesting.
But lemme tell ya what I didn't like. Shade's abusive relationship with his mother and his bratty behavior. I think the author was actually making an interesting backstory of Shade disliking his mother for forcing him to attend boarding school, but I felt like the viciousness of their relationship really detracted from the story and made it hard for me to sympathize with Shade. He was just angry and petty a lot, and it didn't work well for me when we didn't get the full picture for why he behaved like that.
I would recommend this to people who like the broody, dominating male character that whisks away the regular female protagonist into his luxurious world and entices her with good sex.

I even want to read the second book just to know what happens with Shade and Tara's relationship. Shade was put in a private school in a foreign country and had no relationship with anyone in his family. It was like he did not exist. If it was not for his friend Chad and his family, he would not have survived. There is a secrete that has not come to light that Shade holds over his mother. His mother is 38 and Shade is 21 which means she had him very young. After he decided he did not want to finish college and refused to marry a heirst for money like his mother wanted him to do, he was threaten she would not support his life style. Sex is how he survives, but he knows it not enough. He was looking for someone to love and someone to love him. Tara wanted a life where she can be herself and someone to love and love her back. This book is mostly about sex between them.
On a personal note. He was a chain smoker. I don't know how Tara tolerated the smell in his environment and on him. I'm a ex smoker. I smoked for over 50 years (yes it was extremally difficult to quiet), after my grand children begged e to quiet because they did like the smell and was worried that I would die, I understood what people were saying about the odor and how it effect non-smokers even if they say nothing. I wish the writer would have showed him respecting nonsmokers. Blowing out the window does not help.

What a great start to a new series by Shayne Ford. I was hooked from the first page until the end and wanted even more, I can't wait for the next book to see what happens to Tara and Shade.
Shade sees Tara at a work function and immediately can read her like a book and ends up giving her what she needs at that exact moment. Tara is a good girl, but Shade makes her want and reach for more than she thought possible. She wants to break out of her cage, just like Shade is trying to do with his mother and company.
Like another reviewer quoted Shayne's book, I think it was spot on to what Shayne makes you feel when writing in how she writes the moments and makes you feel them with her and the characters. The quote was "I wish I could be the wind, so I can kiss your face.... and breathe all over skin". Takes your breath away when you imagine that being whispered in your ear.

I can'r wait for the next book in this series! Shade is a victim of his upbringing, but when he meets Tara, there are immediate sparks. Tara has found herself settling in life, but Shade has brought out her deepest yearnings, while Tara gives him the love he's been craving. I loved this beginning to their sexy hot story and can't wait for more. I couldn't stand Elia, but I see that, as always, she has her own agenda, which contributed to many exasperating moments! Love her or hate her, she was an integral part of it all. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is a great story. You have a mother with her nose in everything. Holly cow that women is controlling. A strong woman, Tara, working her way up the corporate ladder. And an alpha male who is so wise yet immature at the same time.
Tara and Shade’s first encounter gives me chills. I will be reading it over and over again. I just love the way he talks to her, reads her like he knows her. I’m melting just like the first time I read it.
