Jessie never wanted to be a spy assassin.

But now she’s the only person who can stop the rogue general who trained her. To do that, she’ll have to kill him…if she can.

In Golden City, New York, Jessie Tacket struggles with her conscience. With no easy choices, she prepares to face the general. But civilian life and her new guardian—a female detective determined to keep Jessie busy and out of trouble—fill her time with other tasks.

Detective Vick Tacket focuses on a homicide case while she waits for leads on the general. She’s convinced Jessie won’t lead a normal life until she knows he’s been locked up. Though they’ll still have to hide the teen’s healing abilities, it’ll be easy compared to capturing Jessie’s former tormentor.

Vick plans to arrest the general, and Jessie might kill him, but they agree on one principle: he can't roam free.

Set Up is the sixth book in this fast-paced, 7-book YA action adventure, The Tacket Secret. If you like clean YA books with strong female characters and a touch of science fiction fantasy, you’ll enjoy this series.

During the day, Emma Carrie enjoys amusement parks, basketball, and movies--ripsticking may someday join that list. At night, she's a superhero who reads minds, manipulates time, and shifts shape...at least in her dreams.

Emma writes YA science fiction and fantasy with a dash of Christian suspense. She's explored an active coal mine, fired a Gatling gun from a Humvee, and examined chromosomes with a scanning electron microscope. She's also hitched a ride in a corporate jet and wiped on stage while modeling.

She loves quirky characters who are driven by unconquerable determination--the encouragement she hopes readers take from her stories.

Awesome Christian Sci-Fi Perfect for any teen or the young at heart!

Jessie is unique and real at the same time. This was one of my favorites in this novella series so far. The 6th installment shows us Jessie and her guardian/mom, Vic, really starting to care for each other on a deeper level. I love Jessie and her struggle to follow her training in contradiction to being a normal teen. She even researches how to be a friend, as school looms closer. With Jesse as a new Christian, the question of forgiveness came up, and how a young Christian can be perceived by their peers. It came across very realistic and not preachy at all. The sub characters are just as interesting and I’m rooting for them all. I raced through the final chapters to see what was going to happen next.

The Tacket Secret Series Book Four
The relationship between Jessie and Vick continues to change. Vick begins to feel more “motherly” towards Jessie. While Jessie is trying to keep her perspective on her training and skills so she'll be prepared to defeat the general.

More people are added into the scenario and I found it difficult who could be friend and who was foe. I'm loving the way this author writes and how the stories pull me in and hang on from beginning to end. And at the end...I want more. This one ends a bit more on a cliffhanger. But no worries…the next one is out.

In this instalment of our continuous story, Jessie tries out school for the first time with disastrous results, the action and violence ramps up, and there’s a kidnapping. I’m looking forward to the last book which will be the conclusion to this very exciting series. NB: This series does not stand alone. All of the books must be read in chronological order and each ends on a cliffhanger.

My favorite so far! Though short in length, the story is surprisingly complex and I've really become invested in the characters as they continue to grow closer to each other.

Be ready to jump right to the next book in the series though, because this one leaves you on the edge of your seat.
