About the author

Konrad Zacharias Lorenz was an Austrian zoologist, ethologist, and ornithologist. He shared the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Nikolaas Tinbergen and Karl von Frisch. He is often regarded as one of the founders of modern ethology, developing an approach that began with an earlier generation, including his teacher Oskar Heinroth.
Lorenz studied instinctive behavior in animals, especially in greylag geese and jackdaws. Working with geese, he investigated the principle of imprinting, the process by which some nidifugous birds (i.e. birds that leave their nest early) bond instinctively with the first moving object that they see within the first hours of hatching. Although Lorenz did not discover the topic, he became widely known for his descriptions of imprinting as an instinctive bond. In 1936 he met Dutch biologist Nikolaas Tinbergen, and the two collaborated in developing ethology as a separate sub-discipline of biology. A Review of General Psychology survey, published in 2002, ranked Lorenz as the 65th most cited scholar of the 20th century in the technical psychology journals, introductory psychology textbooks, and survey responses.

Veikiau, veikia ir įveikiau. Apie knygą sužinojau gavęs nuorodą į jos aptarimą (https://vimeo.com/20673298), kuriame įspūdžiais apie šią knygą dalinosi A. Alekseičikas, R. Petronis ir vertėja, vertusi šią knygą.
Skaitydamas truputį geriau suvokiau Franklio požiūrį į gyvenimą, kančią ir prasmę. Buvo įspūdingų įžvalgų apie gyvenimo prasmę, jausmus, laimę. Sudomino mintys ir pavyzdžiai apie sąmonės ir pasąmonės santykį. Vietomis skaitėsi itin sunkiai, tiek dėl sąvokų, tiek dėl paties teksto. Susidarė įspūdis, kad knygoje pristatomos idėjos pagrįstos pagrinde autoriaus pasaulėžiūra. Vietomis norėjosi paprastesnių ir gilesnių paaiškinimų, daugiau pavyzdžių iš asmeninės patirties.

P.S. Anot Franklio, pasaulėžiūros, jeigu vietomis man skaityti šią knygą buvo sunku - tai prasminga kančia, nes lengvai perskaitomas knygas gali perskaityti kiekvienas, o tas kurias sunkiau yra įveikti - ne kiekvienas. Ir tai, anot jo, rodo, mano ryžtą, kurio niekas negali atimti ar nuvertinti :-D

Eine Sammlung von Reden und Fragmenten Viktor Frankls, dem Begründer der Logotherapie, zu vielen verschiedenen Themen, Depression, Religiosität, Liebe, Sexualität, Literatur, Euthanisie ... Das ist oft beeindruckend und stellenweise sogar visionär.
Besonders berührt haben mich die Stellen über den KZ-Aufenthalt des Autors. Dass KZs die Manifestation von Gewalt sind, wird kaum irgendwem neu sein, aber die Beschreibungen, was das mit einer Psyche macht, haben mir das nochmal sehr wach gerufen. Genau sowas sollte in Schulen gelesen werden, wenn es um das Thema geht - es ist sehr viel eindrücklicher als Zahlen und Lagerpläne. Genau sowas hilft nämlich zu einem wirklichen "NIE WIEDER". Jedenfalls hat Frankl zu dem Thema auch ein eigenes Buch geschrieben, dass ich sofort auf meine Wunschliste geschrieben habe. Was für ein großartiger Mensch er war, solche Narben auch noch mit der Welt zu teilen! (Allerdings wird dieses Thema eigentlich nur auf 15 Seiten und einzelnen Absätzen behandelt, aber auch andere Stellen sind sehr lesenswert, Frankl zur Wahrnehmung gelieber Menschen beispielsweise wunderschön.)

Dieses Buch also eine starke Empfehlung von meiner Seite.

Dieser Band enthält eine Auswahl aus Viktor Frankls Werk, also Auszüge aus Büchern und Vorträgen, sowie ich glaube (habe ich hier nicht erneut gelesen) auch das gesamte "Man's search for meaning". Die Auszüge sind ausreichend, um sich eine Vorstellung von Frankls Ideen zu Freiheit, Verantwortung, Gewissen und Sinn zu machen. Ich war allerdings vom Titel in die Irre geführt (überdurchschnittlich viele von Frankls Werken welcher Art auch immer sind, vielleicht nur hier, mit irgendeiner Version von "Man' in search of meaning" o.ä. betitelt) und hätte gern mehr Texte im ganzen gehabt. Macht man nix. Frankl sonst natürlich heftig ohne Ende.

The book is simply an overview of Frankl's entire writings. It does a good job at giving one the gist of what Frankl was on about with Logotherapy, Existential Analysis and where his Ideas came from. However. Frankl's thought is too complex to be ripped from its context and many passages require additional research to be fully grasped.
The book is a good read if one has already read most of Frankl's work, but it does not serve as an introduction, as I had mistaken it to be. However, I would still recommend Frankl to anyone.

Wie es der Untertitel verrät, handelt es sich hier um verschiedene Vorträge und Auszüge aus Frankls Texten.

Es ist mein erstes Frankl Buch und obwohl es kein zusammenhängender Text ist, sind zentrale Ideen sichtbar und verständlich geworden. Die Ausschnitte geben mir verschiedene Denkanregungen mit.

Moving story, which almost disqualifies your own petty problems. Helpful insights into concepts of psychoanalysis and psychology in general.
One can find guidances to find meaning in their own life inside this book although they are just signposts, not the way or the destination itself.

Knyga apie logoterapiją, kurios metodika yra perpinama su koncentracijos stovyklą išgyvenusio autoriaus Viktor E. Frankl atsiminimais. Viena vertus - tai knyga, kurios vienu prisėdimu neperskaitysi. Tačiau kita vertus - taip pat jau žinau, kad ją skaitysiu antrą kartą. Turi susigulėti.
