Mark-

Love and commitment might be great. You know, for my brothers. Not for me. But then, in a chance meeting, I came across her. Why was she different? I couldn’t say for sure. Maybe it was the fact that she was the most gorgeous woman I had ever seen. Maybe it was the the sharp edges she wore like a shield that made me want to see what was beneath. Or maybe it had something to do with whatever secret she was trying so desperately to hide.

Scotti-

Love and commitment weren’t even in the realm of possibilities for me. My life had one purpose, one mission, and I couldn’t afford to let anyone get in the way. But then there was Mark Mallick - ladies man, loanshark enforcer, and very determined to know my secrets.

That was problematic any day, but especially so with him. Why? Maybe because the things he would offer me, the things he would show me were possibilities for my life could make me completely reevaluate the mission that had completely consumed the last ten years of my life.

But could I have those things? Could I escape the life I had been trapped in for so long? With Mark Mallick by my side, I was thinking maybe it was possible…

ღ I read this book sometime in the past but, for whatever reason I didn’t review it or worse yet I couldn’t remember Mark & Scottie story ….. So I decide to reread it …Damn Once I started the book i couldn't put it down. It’s really hard to put down one of Jessica Gadziala books & not read it cover to cover!

Since this book has been out for some time, I don’t think you need me rehashing it’s ups & downs…. All you need to know is that it was a , sweet sexy book that was Jam packed with action & drama from the get go.

Oh I must say this book leaves you wanting to desperately read Eli’s book , which according to In the Navesink Bank timeline, this sets his story to continue where Renny's book starts. Do you know what means? I’m finally up to date on my Navesink Bank timeline, hell yeah

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book,
Happy Reading --- Enjoy ……. Paulette Review

The heroine was almost a badass, the hero was as I expected.
I’m not fond of playboys, and the colorful past of this one was thrown in my face a couple times too many.
Overall interesting read, especially regarding side characters.

Can’t wait to read Eli’s book. But also the King’s (heroine’s older brother) – he was my favorite!

I’m hooked with this author. Going to read her MC series – I actually don’t like biker stories, but I need more of Jessica Gadziala!!!

With how easily I fell in love with both Mark and Scotti and this story, I had to give it all the stars!

⭐ as you know, Mark and his brothers were enforcers for their father's loansharking business. They all had successful legit businesses as well. Mark was really great with his hands (hot right?) and did construction and landscaping. Seriously, who isn't impressed with a man who knows how to use his hands???
⭐ Scotti and her brothers weren't strangers to crime, but I loved how the author created their purpose. They weren't seeking riches and I had to admire their honorable, if a bit misguided, cause.
⭐ I'm trying to think of what there was not to love about this book. Scotti had finally found a man who understood her. A man she could truly be herself with. Someone who knew what it was to be on the other side of the law, who understood her fears. And despite her being a flight risk, Mark proved time and time again how determined he was to make their relationship work.
⭐ their families were amazing. I think Scotti's brothers will only add to the beauty that the Mallicks offer.

Honestly, there was so much to love about this book. The push and pull between Mark and Scotti was at once hilarious and delicious. The smoothness of their relationship, even when Scotti was scared to trust it, was something that gave me the warm fuzzies. Now, with all of the hints dropped since Shane's book about Eli, I'm ready to find out what's going on. I get that it's out of the reading order, but after learning what I did in this book, I need his book NOW!

This was ANOTHER swoon worthy, insta love story from the criminal world of NB

Mark was totally swoon worthy and 1000% over the top everything a girl ever wants in a man. He was possessive and sweet, determined, sexy and a fighter. He knew exactly what he wanted and he went for it, he didn't pussy foot around with his manly emotional games he just went out and refused to let it slip away.

I've always enjoyed JG's books and this was exactly her style- easy to read, fun and just enough drama to keep you guessing. I love how she creates familial bonds within her series, whether they are blood related or brotherhood or the girls club, she makes me envious of the loyalty, support and love they share.

We meet a shit ton of new characters which, like a kid in a candy store, leaves me giddy with what ifs.
The twist towards the end broke me and left me dying for more. MORE MORE MORE!! That seems to be all I ever feel when I end a book by JG.

I'm happy but not content- I need these books faster!

THANK YOU, as always, Jessica G. for the ARC!!!! You always fall into my inbox at the most perfect times!!

This was another lovely book in this series.

I love this series and Mallick brothers, and how close they are. I'm glad that their family was getting bigger and bigger with the new additions. And babies popping all around them. And of course I love Jessica, so obviously I can't keep my hands off of her books! Guilty here!!!

description

Mark was so sweet, nice and hot. He was a hard worker and a badass as a enforcer. And most importantly he knew when he got something good and appreciated it. He didn't play games or tried to fuck with your head. He was direct and made it clear about what he wanted and that was Scotti! I really enjoyed him.

I want to pull her apart and see how the pieces worked. I wanted to know what made her tick the way she did. Then I wanted to put her right back into her own particular, perfect working order and enjoy the fuck out of her until the both of us were just piles of sweat and orgasm-sated. numb, tangled limbs.

Scotti was a badass as well. She could handle anything and protect herself from anything except maybe Mark... She grew up with 4 hot brothers I might add (and hope they'll have their own books in the future) and that made her strong. She was nice and loyal and smart and had Mark rapped around her finger chasing her around. Her past was different and she was a nice addition to the Mallick family.

Let's just keep dangling him in front of her like a delicious piece of man meat while she slowly starves to death. That'll be fun.

Mark and Scotti were attracted to each other since the first moment they met, and that slow burning was difficult to let go without having a taste first. So they made a deal and that's how their story began. Thank God they gave it a try and had some mind blowing sex sessions in the progress, because "Ohhh My God, they were totally HOT!"

description

description

One of my favorite parts were when everything happened with Eli how close they were as a family and how supportive were the women for their men the moment they needed them the most. Even though Scotti was new in the family she was there for Mark without pressuring him or demanding answers, just being there with whatever he needed. That sealed the deal for them as a couple.

description

I was shocked with everything that happened with Eli. I want his book like yesterday. That ending was... was... SPEECHLESS....No words just...
Please Jessica, HURRY UP with Eli's book!!! I can't wait HERE!!!

Another fabulous book in this series that I’ve been rapidly devouring. Unfortunately, this one has a lot less suspense than the first two in the series, but it was still very enjoyable!
I absolutely loved the heroine, Scotti and her brothers. True to the tone of this series, Scotti and her brothers are armed robbers, but while they’re criminals, they have morals and a rationale for what they’re doing that is quite respectable (Never thought I’d say that, but it’s true!)
It looks like her brothers have their own love stories, and I can’t wait to check out that spin-off series!

I dove into this book the moment I could yesterday after one heck of a work week. I have to say again that Jessica Gadziala is a freaking word magician with how she weaves mystery, passion and connection into one hell of a love story in each book she writes. It's like you get your main dose of Romance and add into that every kind of friendship or familial bond to strengthen and solidify the depth of the whole thing combined. Might not make sense. The way I'm describing it . But it's all so perfect when you experience it yourself. Mark is just wow.. He's everything, he's hot yea but his beauty goes soul deep. He loves hard and he isn't shy to show it. Scotti is steel and sweetness in a sarcastic yet loyal and protective package. She's just what Mark needed and i ripped through the pages hungering for each moment. The whole Mallick clan had me smiling or crying (Eli oh Eli) then.. Yea mouth hanging open at the end.. Simply can't wait..💞💕♥️💌📚📙📘

Another Mallick brother bites the dust...

Hell, although I loved Mark Mallick-playful/manwhore/enforcer whose balls got fried by a badass armed robber and they eventually sealed the deal, still he ain't Shane!

Yeah, my first Mallick bro, who won me over and brought me into this wide turmoilous spectre of Mallick family's trafe, lives and loves...

Again, filled with action, passion, and steam from hawt ALPHA and equally spunk of a badass lady, with introspectives of Mallick brothers' lives, this story offers a short lived rush of adrenaline and a satiated sense of fulfillment after reading...

Yet, this book ends with a sort of a cliffy, leaving us with a mysterious insight into one of the sullen/soulful brothers, Eli Mallick whose rage streak turned his life upside down in the end...and we are left with a question mark of where and how his life would play out next...

These Mallick brother's certainly find the most interesting women to fall in love with. As if Navesink Bank didnt already have enough crazy characters with the loanshark family of Mallik's, the Henchmen MC, Italian mob, drug dealers, snipers, hired muscle, underground fighting, and Hailstorm, now it has a family of armed robbers. But as with all those other characters that walk a fine line with the law – this new family too are good people at heart..

Mark Mallik is one of 5 brothers. He's the 2nd called in if someone doesnt pay up so he's pretty laid back – enjoys working his construction company and lawn service business. When he is in a store that get robbed he becomes fascinated with a woman he thought was just an innocent bystander like him but turns out she was part of the crew.. This makes him even more fascinated with her.

Scotti and her 4 brothers started out in a good family but after their father dies and their mother a few years later because she couldn't get healthcare from her big chain employer they decide to rob all the stores of that chain as payback. Ten years later has them in Navesink Bank where Scotti crosses path with Mark and we find out she's tired of the life and would like nothing better than to be normal and go out with Mark but doesnt see how a loanshark enforcer and a wanted armed robber would ever work out.

When reading a new book from Jessica is not unusual for her to have some secondary characters we fall in love with and want their stories.. Normally its just 1 or 2 but man by the end of this book you want all 4 of Scotti's brothers books added to the long list of future books you want written by her.

Something big went down in this book with another character that shall not be discussed but when we finally get that book it should be a doozy..

As always another great story from the Navesink Bank world... Keep em coming Jessica..

Love, lust, family, friends, it’s all here once again as Jessica Gadziala tells the story of MARK the playboy of the Mallick family, whose ability to commit to just one woman is right up there with belief in Unicorns. Sure, Ms. Gadziala can melt the paint off a battleship with her romance, but she also knows about how to create some heartrending moments, bone chilling moments and turn her “dark” heroes and heroines into living, breathing humans with all of the needs, wants, hope and desires of Jane and John Q. Public. It could well be one of her greatest strengths as a story teller. She teaches us that even those who may not live on the “right side” of the law can be amazing, loyal and after the same things everyone wants, to love and be loved, accepted and wanted and needed.

Who knew the moment Mark decided to become a knight in shining armor to what appeared to be a damsel in distress that it be the moment his footloose and fancy free days would end and his heart would take up a new beat, a duet with the beautiful Scotti.

They are run through the gauntlet of life, with some horrendous low points and some amazing high points. Through it all, we witness a coming together of two hearts who learn to share, trust and depend on each other, especially Scotti, who never had a safe haven outside of her brothers. Mark’s family becomes Scotti’s family and Scotti’s family blends right in, too. Yep, another smoldering hot tale with heart and Jessica Gadziala rocks it, again!

I received an ARC edition from Jessica Gadziala in exchange for my honest review.

Mark, the third book in the Mallick Brothers series, was adorably sweet, romantic and amusing. It was also difficult, depressing and left me on tenterhooks, impatiently waiting to see how events will ultimately play out. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait a bit for the next Mallick book. Ms. Gadziala has several other Navesink Bank books coming in the not too distant future, however, so the wait shouldn't be quite so tortuous.

I'm loving this author more with every release. I completely invested in the entire Navesink Bank (and related) world she has created. I also appreciate the variety of stories she tells, even within sub-series, from light and humorous, to deliciously dark, with some deeply emotional, some action packed, some erotic, and some more focused on an evolving mystery. But whatever the type and tone, I'm always sucked in from beginning to end and never disappointed.

DNF at 55%. I only like manwhore heroes if the heroine is the only one that ever makes them want more. This hero had another lassie before he wanted more with and only didn't because she only wanted casual. Nah, ruined the romance for me. Tried to power through and get passed it but couldn't.

i didn’t get the attraction between the two because there weren’t much of story about them, it was all family and friends and some other things.
mark was the carefree womanizer and fun brother but you don’t see that in this book,
he’s just another guy falling for another girl.
i was a little bit disappointed.🤷🏻‍♀️sorry.

Would I be a bad person if I say I read this for a glimpse of Ryan and Dusty...but I stayed for Eli?

Mark and Scotti...good couple, great chemistry, nice storyline with my favorite brand of alpha - the heroine chasing kind! But alas they were overshadowed by 1.) Scotti's bros, 2.) Mark's bros, and 3.) ELI - because he is a category all on his own!

Give me some ELI please! I CAN'T WAIT for his story!

All in all - Mark & Scotti - Forgettable
Ryan and Dusty are still my fave
Eagerly awaiting Eli's book...hoping the hype is real!

5 Kick Ass Stars

Another Kick-ass leading lady, I love it! I loved getting to know Scottie and Mark. This book starts of with a band and sure what more can you ask for. Jam packed with action and drama from get go. We have another sexy Mallack brother Mark who's a bit of a ladies man and doesn't see himself settling down anytime soon. We then have the kick ass Scotti who doesn't feel she can have want she wants. It insta-love with these too.

Mark is a sweet, over protective alpha male and I ate this book story up.

God that epilogue and ending killed me though!

Like all of Jessica's books this book can be read as a Standalone but I would recommend reading in order as you get a feel for other characters within her books.

The sexy Mallick brothers are back and one more brother is getting his woman! This is Mark and Scotti's story and we get introduced to 4 of Scotti's brothers who I'm hoping will get their own books soon. Scotti's and her brothers are armed robbers and that is how Mark and Scotti meet in the beginning. Scotti has her own plan for retirement but a little convincing for Mark may change her mind. I mean who wouldn't want to retire with a sexy Mallick brother?? I have to say I love the relationship the whole Mallick family has together. It's fun reading stories about people who have such a bond that really is unbreakable. Mark and Scotti's story was light on the angst and drama and I would highly recommend it!

4.5 stars for me.

Really, really rare for me to be at less than a 5 for a JG.
I loved it, it was awesome but, for me, from about 75% it felt rushed and the story fell a bit more toward their families than to them. I could have done with just a bit more of their private world.

Without a doubt, my favourite author will be a 'drop everything' read for Eli's story (plus, I need to know what happened to Coop!)

Definitely one of Jessica's best. What's not to love about the Mallick brothers? I laughed, cried, laughed some more. Mark and Scotti are one of my favorite couples. He's my favorite Mallick so far. I'm having a hard time writing this review because I don't want to give anything away. I would rally like to crazy and write in all CAPS! Read the book and falll in love with Mark and Scotti. I loved the addition of several new characters and my favorite character of any book including the classics. Fiona and the Mallick women are in league of their own. I'm so proud of you Jessica and I truly believe you will exceed your wildest dreams.

RE-READ 10-20-21: It's sad the details I had forgotten over the last five years since first reading this book. Mark and Scotti are a great couple and I am now excited again about reading Eli's book as well as the books about Scotti's brothers. Love me Navesink Bank!

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Seriously... that ending!!! Now I'm dying to get Eli's book.

Mark is book 3 in the Mallick Brothers series and was another great story in this series.

Mark meets Scotti and knows instantly that's she different from the other women he's met. But then she disappears. For the first time, Mark finds himself actually taking the time to look for a woman knowing she'll be worth the effort when he finds her.

Scotti and her four older overprotective brothers have led a tough and dangerous life. She's tired of the way they've been living and when she meets Mark, she gets a peak at what a normal happy life can be.

I can't go into detail for fear of spoiling something and you need to read this without having a clue what's going to happen. I have always loved all those hot Mallick men in Navesink Bank and Mark's story did not disappoint. He's a sweetheart and Scotti is so cool. She's tough and snarky and can hold her own with all the other women these men have found and fallen in love with. I loved her brothers and hope to see more of them in future books as well.

The ending blew me away and I cannot wait to see what's up next in this series.

This was not my favorite JG book

Look, I love Jessica Gadziala’s books. I love so many of her heroines and her anti heroes. She’s written some of my favorite book boyfriends. I enjoyed many aspects of this book. While I was a little turned off by Scotti and the I-don’t-want-to-like-him-but-I-can’t-help it attitude (because I’m not gonna lie, it gets old), I loved her brothers. I like the Mallicks.

If you don’t want any spoilers, stop reading NOW. Like as in right now.

I warned you.

FINAL WARNING.

Okay, so what ultimately killed this book for me was Eli. Man, it just broke my heart. It put a tremendous damper on the entire book for me, because ever since he walked into Dusty’s life in RYAN and made that connection with her, I just adored him. I loved the way Eli effortlessly made Dusty feel normal, and accepted, neither of which were things she was used to feeling. And honestly? Yeah, I’ve read Eli’s book. Hell, I’ve read The General. I know how it all turns out.

It pisses me off that Eli was turned into something he never should have been - a closet rage monster. Yes, even though I know everything turns out all right. But it still doesn’t change the fart on the birthday cake stench this book left me with.

Go ahead and flame me for it. I get it. But that’s how I feel, and this is a review site, after all.

Mark and Scotti

I love Mark's and Scotti's story. Criminal but great guy meets good girl but really a criminal. As with all the Mallick stories, I run through a range of emotions and am left waiting impatiently for the next story. Each love story is fresh and different so there is no repetition or boredom that makes you want to skip a word, paragraph, or page. Jessica has a way with words to draw you in and make you emotionally involved. I can't wait for Eli's story and I need to know Coop finds his way back too. I'll never eat another chicken nugget without thinking of Scottie.

New favorite meet-cute: in the middle of an department store armed robbery.

Title: Mark
Author: Jessica Gadziala
Series: Mallick Brothers
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Plot Summary:

Mark Mallick is probably the most laid back chill Mallick out there - sure he does some minor enforcing - nothing close to Shane or Eli - for his loan shark family - but most of his time is spent doing his own thing - mainly doing landscaping, home renovations, and other manly things that make you want to swoon. He isn’t opposed to settling down - he sees how happy his brothers are - but hasn’t met the right gal yet… until he tries to protect a sassy spitfire that is far from needing to be saved.

Scotti is arguably higher up on the criminal food chain than Mark - ya know, with the whole armed robbery thing and all. But as always in Navesink, things aren’t what they appear when it comes to criminal activity. Despite wanting everything Mark is showing and offering her, the plan is to get revenge, and get out of the US. Do not pass go, do not fall in love.

Comments:

Overall, I thought this book took a really awesome balance between sweet/cute and a little twisty-ness/action that keeps the NB story line moving forward.

I thought Mark came off as one the most relate-able character in this entire series.

The last time I hit a box store, I somehow ended up with three bag's worth of As-Seen-On-TV items that had been cluttering up my closet ever since. Why the fuck I ever thought I would need a zucchini noodle maker was beyond me.
They pumped drugs through their fucking ventilation systems, I swear.

Scotti pushes the limit of what I think of being the ‘acceptable’ criminal element of Navesink. She and her family are a gang of armed robbers. But not really. And once you hear her reasoning, I was totally on board. Plus, she was the perfect blend of hard and sassy, with this sweet core that just needed Mark to really shine through.

As for the whole ‘twisty-ness/action that keeps the NB story line moving forward’ this is the first time in my reviews that I have a major ARC spoiler I have to keep under wraps. Gahhhhhh. It’s a doozy that at first left me question where JG’s soul had gone - and then totally intrigued me with possibilities.

That ending though...

Another amazing book from this author, she just gets it right every time.

I'm not the kind of reader that follows authors per se, I mainly just go from book to book and don't tend to take notice of whoever wrote it, as awful as that may sound. With that said, I find myself keeping an eye out for new releases from JG. I'm constantly left smiling after reading one of her books.

I've also noticed about myself when it comes to reading, that I almost always have some sort of issue with the heroine, or general females we meet, I'm not even sure why it's just really hard for me to like them or relate to them. However, this author is just so on point with what I need from my heroines, and I find myself oddly relating to every single one of them in some way.

And as I have mentioned in other reviews I have a weakness for a pack of attractive guys, whether they be brothers or just some sort of brotherhood, so of course I was more than happy to be introduced to yet another group of men that will hopefully have their own books ???

I must mention this as it stood out for me in this, I raved about Jessica's portrayal of Dustys anxiety in 'Ryan' and even though it was a tiny smidgen of a moment in this book, she got it right again!
whenever I'm in a group setting I find I have to excuse myself and be on my own for a few minutes, As much as I use books to escape reality, it's nice to see an honest and accurate representation of what anxiety is really like.

That ending was incredibly bittersweet and it most definitely did its job in amping up anticipation for Eli's story, I found myself struggling to breathe with that last paragraph.
