DEA Agent Taylor Walker is thrilled when one of her favorite authors, C.S. Hilton, moves in to a fixer-upper on her block. She's attracted, between her job and raising her niece, she's got a lot on her plate. C.S. Hilton has a secret -- he's secretly Curt Sherbrooke, heir to a billion-dollar fortune and nephew of the current President of the United States. Taylor might be OK dating a famous author, but is she OK with dating a billionaire in the paparazzi spotlight?
This was my first Christina Tetreault book, and it's one of her best. She brings together two loners in a way that feels natural and organic. The plot seems to flow well, and Tetreault balances all of the elements in the book wonderfully. This book made me want to read all of the other Sherbrooke stories.
This was my first Christina Tetreault book and it just wasn’t really my kind of book. Parts were good and the excitement in the last 20% helped a bunch but it was pretty blah otherwise. I don’t need total smut but a little smut would have helped this along. I don’t mind using my imagination but it needed a little more to help the imagination along. If you are looking for a G rated book this would be a good one for you……I’m definitely more of an R rated on up kinda girl.
Curt Sherbrooke has two passions, renovating old homes and writing novels. He leaves the world of finance to further explore his passions. He finds himself in a small town with his largest renovation project yet. Now all he needs to do is keep his identity a secret so that no one knows he’s a member America’s wealthiest family.
Taylor Walker is the sexy DEA agent living next door with her mother and young niece. She doesn’t believe she needs a man to complete her life. She’s happy raising her niece and taking down drug dealers.
I will say that I absolutely loved Curt!!! He was a great Hero!
Curt and DEA Agent Love Tryst! 3.25***** Spoiler Alert!
Curt, another of Scott’s billionaire Sherbrooke cousins and nephew to the US President, resigned from his financial firm to follow his passions by writing novels full time while rehabbing older houses for resell. Initially going by his pseudonym, CJHinton he hobnobs with the Pelham gentry, eating at their( Priscilla and Taylor’s) table, playing soccer with Reese, spending time with DEA Agent Taylor( adopted Reeses’s aunt), then bedding her, only to finally reveal his deception as he and cousin Trent are found video gaming. The plot twist is introduced as the wayward, drug-addicted sister and Reese’s biological mother, Eliza scoped, and kidnapped her daughter to extort money from their, Curt and Taylor’s, blossoming relationship. Of course he enlisted his search and rescue elite security detail, Reese is returned, Eliza and Brad are jailed, Priscilla and Danny’s secret love revealed and a possible HEA for Curt and Taylor.
Predictable plot and turn of events with semi-interesting characters. Taylor’s character vacillated towards the end, but Reese’s bubbly, loquacious personality carried the story. A theme of not doing the crime if you don’t want to do the time surfaced with hopes that the apple, Reese, falls far from the tree, Eliza, and that nurture superseding nature, even though it is in the same household... hmmm?!?! A Fair Beach Read!

Each book in this series gets better with Curt Sherbrooke quitting the accounting job that he hated and pursuing a career that he loved. He was now going to continue writing books since he was an established author and was renovating a house in a small town, Pelham, away from Boston where no one knew who he was. Little did he know that his neighbors would become family to him so it then his plan flew right out the window when he fell in love with Taylor and her niece,Reece that she was raising with her mom. He was keeping his true identity from them when they met and they assumed his author pen name, C. S. Hilton was his name. When he came clean to Taylor she forgive him but was shocked he was a Sherbrooke since he acted like a normal guy and not rich. This story was an amazing love story as they handled a difficult situation together when he stood by her side through all the problems she had to face because of her drug addicted sister and her druggy criminal boyfriend. He had to convince her in the end that his family would love her no matter what since he loved her. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read Brett's story next.
Because her older sister is drug addicted and has spent time in prison for driving a get away car for man who held up a convenience store, Taylor has legal custody of her six year old niece (the star of the book) Reese. When a friendly man buys the house next door, he becomes instant friends with Reese when he returns her cat and then promises to play soccer with her and teach her lacrosse. As Reese, Taylor, and Priscilla (Taylor's mom) spend time with him while he is rehabbing his house, Taylor can't help but think he's keeping something from her. He is, he's the very well off nephew of the president of the United States. A quick read, as is the rest of this series. It is fun to read about all the members of the Sherbrook family. Reese is a witty child, very advanced for her age, very well written conversation between her and the adults. Precocious, but not bratty. Taylor is a DEA agent and Priscilla is a librarian who makes Curt's decision to not tell who he is right away when she introduces him by his pen name from the very successful novel he's written.
Curt gives up his corporate life to follow his dream and passion, his next project leads him to Pelham where he meets some sweet neighbors. Taylor is a DEA Agent who is raising her niece because of her sister's bad decisions. Taylor is skeptical about the new handsome writer who lives next door and feels he's hiding secrets. Curt is in disguised hiding his true identity, only he feels drawn to the nice neighbors, especially the beautiful DEA agent. Sparks ignite as they get to know each other, neither Curt nor Taylor expected to fall for the other. I love the interaction between Curt and Reese, its adorable. Chaos erupts when Taylors older sister suddenly returns with demands. As Taylor, Reese and her mom Priscilla spend more and more time together with Curt the guiltier he feels about his secret. Taylor struggles with her sisters sudden visit as she tries to figure out Curt's hidden secret as captures her heart. This story is full of hope, friendship, family, danger and love. There is also kidnapping involved for those with issues regarding that. I loved the story very much and can't wait to read others in the series.
The Sherbrooke Men are to Die for and each one seems to outdo the previous one. Curt tries to pass himself off as an author and home remodeler without the Sherbrooke name. Taylor lives next door and is the guardian of her niece. She is works as an agent with the DEA. I love this series and getting ready to read The Billionaires Homecoming. I recommend this series if you enjoy love and action in your stories.
Was enjoyable read, wasn't wow. Mostly story about a mother and her daughter who are raising her other sister daughter due to sister drug habits and being in jail gets out kidnapped the little girl and ransome for money to support her habits, but the neighbor next door steps in to helped. If I say anymore you got the whole story, it's not something I haven't read in this type of story before.
I enjoyed Taylor and Curt story. They are strong characters that go well together. However, I think Reese, Taylor young niece, steals the show. She is a very tenacious young girl who is sweet, determined and resilient. Her interactions with the adult characters is priceless and I love how Curt immediately accepts her as part of the Taylor package. There's lots of drama and family situations along with a twist that puts you on edge in this book.
Loved this story. Curt is dreamy and chivalrous. Taylor was kick ass and loved taking names as a DEA agent. She took care of and had guardianship of her niece, Reese. Curt bought a house in NH to renovate and to write his next book(u see his pen name). And they are newly next door neighbors. They hit it off and Reese quickly ensnares curt around her finger. Lol. They are all perfect together. Until Reese’s drug addict mother turns up to make trouble.
I couldn't put it down. I was Happy that someone wrote a book with people in it at sounded real. It was so good that I don't want to put it down.I read a lot . It was a book that made you turn the page. I was sorry it ended. It is a book you can t put down. I just started the next one Enjoy & Happy Reading 📚📚
Sometimes I read books about the very wealthy and wonder about how they live etc. This book shows a guy trying to follow his own path instead of the business world he is supposed to go into. He likes to fix houses up and then move on and is a great writer. When he moves into an old house, he gets to know his neighbors and a nice relationship blooms.
This was a good read. The story was great &it was well written. Kurt & Taylor was great. It kept you on edge wondering if Kurt would get caught in his lies. The story was one you could see happening in real life.It doesn't pay to lie for any reason but I could see why Kurt did it.
While the story is okay, although terribly predictable, this author just stops the story abruptly. Just don’t get it at all. A little bit more before the ‘end’ about the couple’s plan in the future would make this so much better. She seems to do this in all her books and, simply put, I don’t like it. At all.
I loved this... sweet, fun, and pure romance. This book also touched on trust and an unstable family relationship. I want a little more for Curt and Taylor... but more or less Christina brought another win for the Sherbrooke collection. Excellent.
Christina's books just get better and better! Once you start reading one of her books you just cannot put it down, and you wait in great anticipation for the next one to come out!
Great story with a bit of suspense. But was good to watch Taylor fail in love with the writer-carpenter living next door. Another good book in the Sherbrookes of Newport series.
So enjoyed reading this! Unfortunately I didn’t realize it was book 10 of a series! So I purchased book 1 and was not able to put it down. New author to me and absolutely love reading her books. Starting the next one today!
This was another fabulous story. I was so engrossed by Curt and Taylor's story that I couldn't put it down. I always enjoy The Sherbrookes and this story didn't disappoint. This is a must read.
I really liked this story. Looking at reading some of the other characters story. I felt I could follow along with the characters even though this was the first book I received.
