Like the story of Scott and Larissa. However much like the other books in the series the books are flawed. Besides editorial errors the author introduces characters places them in danger bit never let's the reader know the outcome. Second we have a flawed hero who we met in earlier books as a bad angry man yet somehow hanging out with the heroine changes him. The author never addresses why he hated his younger brother to the extent that he pulled a gun on him. He told Marissa a bit of the story and she never asked any follow up questions. And let's not get started on the big subplot of human trafficking. However if you want a hea and can read a superficial love story not a bad read. It is not like we expect War and Peace when we read these stories ,we read these for a bit of romance and escapism but let's not go overboard ridiculous in plots.
When I first started reading books again in 2020, as the world become more insular; one of the first authors I discovered was Shanade White. Ms. White is a part of the BWWM Room and writes engaging stories usually with a bit of conflict and with soundly fleshed out characters. I have read and enjoyed several of her books and recently ran across Take My Hand, this book is a part of her series Brothers From Money. At the time of my “discovery” the book was free on Kindle…win-win! Ms. White uses the tropes of marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers and marriage to a billionaire. Scott is portrayed as reckless and vindictive, more of his actions appear in other books but as a reader it is easy to follow his trajectory without having read the previous stories. He has made some poor business decisions and has also drafted a wedding contract with a rival without having read all the stipulations. Marissa hides her compassion and good work behind a party girl façade, now her uncaring father is forcing her to marry ruthless Scott. How will she keep her life’s work hidden from a husband? And will Scott change his negative attitude and come to realize that this farce of a marriage is the best thing to ever happen to him? I really liked this book, it had mild spice content, great chemistry between our two main characters and an exciting and quickly resolved conflict. Marc, Scott’s brother; Garrett, Scott’s cousin; and Scott’s brother Michael are just a few of the characters mentioned in Take My Hand who have their own standalone stories in this series! https://theretiredreader.com/f/take-m...
Soooo...I was hoping that I wouldn't hear about Scott's story quite so soon. I found it funny that the stupid marriage contract he drew up for Michael came back as only karma can but I feel that Scott should have suffered longer. I mean really he was such an A-hole! Marissa was a bit of an contradiction; strong and decisive one minute/ whining, insecure & petulant the next. I loved the overall arc of the story and more so the bond of the Terrells and their associates. I just found it hard to accept the all consuming love between the H & H. The human trafficking angle is a huge plus for me though, as is Marissas' brave, unselfish charitable work. It is an ongoing worldwide abomination. 4 stars for the body of the story 3 for the relationship I can't wrap my head around. However I'm sticking with this series for awhile longer. 😉
Those brothers from money are still truly something else and every time I read about another one it never cease to amaze me and make me want to read more. Now I'm going on to read number 8. Hope you all enjoy them a much as I have been! The bonus book was really great too!
I really enjoyed Scott and Marissa's story. It flowed well and I loved the characters. They were forced into marriage by their fathers because of their behavior. Their relationship grows as they get to know each other. A kidnapping, drama, and hot sex made this a book I didn't want to put down. Love those Terrell men😍
Take My HAND: BWWM ROMANCE(Brothers From Money Book 7)
I enjoyed this book but I felt like a lot was missing. We didn't know a lot about Dimitri, he really didn't have a voice. What happened to Julian when Virginia's founded out he was the leak. It was. entertaining but it needed to proof a little more. This book is for mature reader's.
I enjoyed reading this book as I have the other books in this series! I truly enjoyed the chemistry between Marissa and Scott! The circumstances that brought them together is what they needed to tame the beast in Scott that his family felt was out of control! Definitely a book I will recommend to others!
Another fabulous story in this series I can't help but enjoy binging on this series. The characters are just as captivating and exciting with such sizzling passion. There is drama with suspense with this magnificent series. I couldn't stop reading until I finish plus there is a amazing and delightful extra story that is entertaining to read.
I loved this book so much! Scott changed so much since meeting Marissa & I’m happy he wasn’t mean. He changed for the better & it was because of Marissa. They made a great couple & always had each other back!
This series is the first book(s) I have ever read by Shanade White. I have enjoyed each and love how they tie together. Each book has a different little suspense/drama that catches you unexpectedly.
I liked this story except for the misspelled words in the story. Their love was a great love just for meeting for the first time. I would to meet someone like this
Take my hand. I enjoyed this book! This series is great. In this book Scott has to come to terms with all the dirt he has done to his family especially his brothers. Not reading a contract puts him in a bind where he has to marry a woman who is defiant and at odds with her adopted father who agrees to marry her off to Scott. They marry and found they can enjoy each others company. Marissa keeps a secret from Scott that he later finds out. He let's her keep doing her charity work only if it's safe. Marissa and Scott hire someone to keep her safe but it fails and Scott calls reinforcements (The Terrell brothers ). The brothers are successful in saving Marissa. This book was definitely worth reading. I love this family so much! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
